hi iv read a couple of threads and everybody's moaning about how diving is cheating but i strongly disagree,diving is a part of football now and really it it cheating but its just a part of modern football and makes the game more realistic.

I'd agree that it makes the game more realistic, but I wouldn't say it's part of football and technically, it is cheating, so people have the right to moan about it if they want

thing is, i have tried diving once in game just to see, since then i never bother, i would rather try and shoot than fall over....

diving is not a part of football. You are problably the type that thinks fighting and a police officier killing a fan is part of football. It isnt. You and others (including Konami) are destroying the sport.

Well, it IS a part of football in this world, you know. As much as you and I would like to erase it. Besides, diving is far more innocent than all the violence going on, so your example was a bit extreme. I don't see nothing wrong with having a diving feature in the game. The day it's perfect in real life, they can make it perfect ingame.

aye sadly enough it is part of football and its because the refs have very small cahones.if they would grow some and caution people/not take no shit they would be more respected and we fans would be less pissed off. i mean when was the last time a ref gave a pen at old trafford?its been ages or if they did recently just before that it was ages,i remember the commentator mentioning a large timeline a while back,and you cant honestly tell me there has been no penalties during that period...........its pansy intimidatable refs.

the dive feature isnt too bad in the game,they could do with more actions for it and less bookings for ones where the player may have gone down but rightly so even if its not a foul,ive had several where i get sandwhich and go down,fair enough i dive but it looks like ive been overpowered so why not just play on.............

People who say it isn't a part of football, do you see diving happening in games? The answer to that is yes, therefore diving is a part of football. riahc3, you're using an example of a crowd getting out of hand, that's nothing to do with the game, so obviously that has nothing to do with football.

Bitta common sense here lads?

You guys are right. I get so pissed when I'm playing online Poker and I can't cheat. I mean, it would be more realistic if I could have an extra deck in my sleeve or shoe. Also, when I'm playing my Baseball video game, I really want to get my players 'roided up. I mean, it happens in real life, so it's a part of the sport, right?

But seriously, however you view it, diving shouldn't be represented in a video game. Having it in a video game is practically supporting it. "HEY, check out the NEW Diving feature! Dive like your favorite players! Great fun!"

And for those arguing for a realistic 'football sim', you should know refs don't pull out automatic yellows for 95% of the dives. In fact, I would say diving succeeds 40%, while 50% not being called, and only 10% being booked.

Diving is destroying the prestige of the sport. In fact, I know many of the criticisms of Americans, as bias as they might be, is the fact that there is diving. And now diving is ruining PES. This makes EA Sports seem like the lesser evil.

Ok, so diving is part of football these days and konami have decided to impliment it, but how many of you have succesfully pulled off a dive? I think if anything it discourages diving, i for one dont use the function cos for one i never think "this would be a good time to dive" and also it never works anyway.

I think what he meant was;

Players dive in football nowdays, so why shouldn't it be represented in the game.

Diving in football is cheating however you look at it - but on the game you don't really get away with it, its not like Konami have made it so you get people sent off left right and centre from pressing the dive button. Has anyone done it without being carded yet?
