I think once they focus more on the 360,ps3,pc versions then we will start to see PES back in its former glory..

The Xbox gameplay is pretty much identical to the PS3. I very rarely see games for less than £30 for the PS3 where I do the Xbox.

Halo 3 is very good online, but to be honest if you play Call of Duty 4 you'll probably never play Halo again.

The online features for the PS3 are way behind the Xbox, but that is to be expected as Microsoft had a headstart.

PES is just plain gash on both consoles. Major lag issues too. You CAN edit names etc but let's be honest, for £30+ you shouldn't have to. Those caaants at Konami should have already done it.

If I were you I'd go for Xbox, but the PS3 does have Blu-Ray which could appeal to you.

Cheers, much appreciated. If I was to go for the 360, what would you recommend - Premium or Elite? I know there's differences in the hard drive size, but how far does the 20gb last?

Depends on what you plan to do with your console. Through xbox live you can now rent and download movies, tv shows, music and arcade games. If you plan on using these I reccomend that you get the elite. However, if your only going to use it to save games the 20gb will be more then enough

I have 20GB in my mothers house and it does the job, mate ;)

I'd probably only use it for games to be honest, so I'll go for the 20gb one.

One more question - erm... what should I go for gameswise? I asked a lad at work and he rattled off a long list, but that didn't really help as I'd only be getting a couple to start off with, not the entire back catalogue. I'm absolutely clueless on all of this, so once again - ta.

Dead Rising is one I'd reccommed and you'd be able to pick it up fr pretty cheap, the only problem is you'll need a HDTV to read the text :\

Call of Duty 4 is another one I'd reccommend and Guitar Hero is good for a laugh

Now I've had time to experience the PS3, and see what it has to offer, I think the Xbox wins hands down. But that's just my opinion, don't just go on that.

If you like action/RPG can seriously recommend Mass Effect. Only had it since Friday & totally hooked! Cheap as chips too, seen it in Tesco for £20...

Dead Rising is funny as hell, but not sure what point it has apart from twatting zombies for a few hours. Throwing CD's & Frisbies at them keeps me amused though...

On another note, I'm looking for an oblivionesque game (have Oblivion for the PS3 already). Anyone any idea's?

Oh man, just as we were all getting excited about the BF:BC Beta release, IGN announces that the information was not correct! Here’s the statement released by IGN.

“IGN ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING BATTLEFIELD: BAD COMPANY BETA

Recently, IGN’s PR Team distributed a press release announcing the Battlefield: Bad Company beta, which contained inaccurate information with regard to the timing of the beta’s launch. Updated details on the beta will be released in the next few days.”
