I looked up "wing runner" - strangely enough, couldn't find anything about it. Just because you and your mates use it, doesn't mean it's common place.

Well done on FA level 3 coaching badge, which you've probably made up anyway. I'm not going to make any bold claims as to coaching badges, European Championship/World Cup medals, which I'm sure you also have in your imaginary trophy cabinet.

It's laughable though. You say that 'wing runner' is a gaming term (which it isn't) and then berate me for not knowing about it. Keep in mind you've just said it's a gaming term, then claim that because I didn't know that, this implies I know nothing about football - that doesn't make much sense does it. Sadly, the only reason I'm posting so much is because my significant other has midterms, I'm out of the country without my PS3 and PES, otherwise I wouldn't bother defending myself against the likes of you.

When other people on the forum are taking the piss out of you, I think it's time to stop posting.

Also, just so you can sleep easy tonight, I've played football for close to 17 years, up to semi-pro at highest and coach a youth team in my spare time. Still, as an amazing "coach", shouldn't you have enough savvy to be able to defend against these amazing "wing runners" in PES? That was your original point wasn't it, I can't honestly remember..

LOL you make me laugh..if you are jealous of me being a level 3 coach, just say that, oh you did but in a different way..!! (it was hard to pass) oh and pro 5 a side is not semi-pro...

i did not say couldnt defend against 'wing runners' (you know what i mean right) as it is still part of playing..i said it was boring boring football cus thats all you do..!!!

Jesus, as someone pointed out before its idiots like you that have let knoami get away with it for 2 years... the fact that your not even in the country with your ps3 means your not even playing pes2009/not played it very much..!!!

the fact is pes09 is ok at best.. the fact that it ##plays the same on ps2 but with reduced graphics says it all..!!## fifa is good not great.. the fact that EA spend more money developing it and employing real football people to develop it.. means they have edged in front for ps3 09 versons..!! i dont doubt that knoami can get back on top, i just think they were a little slow off the blocks for ps3. the fact that they have less than a year to develop the game each year means its a sprint with EA, but EA can a afford better equipment..just look how long gran torismo spend developing a game...

oh and just cus we are saying negative things about pes does not mean
we are 'fifa fanboys' (blind fool) if anything we are die hard pes 'fanboys' who are tryin to prove a real point..'ITs NOT GOOD ENOUGH' try harder, develop longer dont just race to our pockets...!!!!!!!

Well too be honest if FIFA is soooo good this year :erm: it is because it has had to get it's ass off the floor and try to compete with the might beast that is PES! so for the 1st year in 100 years lol FIFA is better then PES (not my opinion PES is better shhh lol) obviously u have to thank konami for kicking FIFA's developers up the ass, FIFA should be doing better! they have more money, more resources basically everything at there disposal, but sorry it still aint as good as PES! and I believe cos PES 2009 has only been out 5 days and will defo grow on u FIFA fanboys soon enough ;)

Thou what I don't understand is why FIFA fans are on PES forums!!!

god you guys are so dumb..why would a 'fifa 'fanboys' come on here...!!! we are 'pes fanboys' that have been sent to the darkside by 2 years of shite.!!!!!!!!!!!!! we love football so much we want to play the best we can.. pes has just got way to easy, its lost its va va va voom..

Don't you have to be mature to have that coaching certificate??? Coaching kids an all... You like making things up, and saying stuff like... "FIFA like to employ real football people", now I know you chat out of your ass, you know fuck all about football.

As someone has said before, why are you on these forums? You clearly have no reason to be here, go back to your FIFA forums and convince your own people that FIFA is the game this year, not us!

You must be really sad and pathetic to keep coming on these forums, writing about crap. You too must be completely crap at PES, therefore venting your frustrations at us. Go home, learn how to play PES, then, if you still don't like it and find it too hard, go play happy families on the FIFA forums.

back to the main topic of the thread...

couple of reasons I dislike PES this year:

- goalkeepers are embarrassing and even Casillas can't catch a thing
- the movement of players is too fast / unrealistic
- the pitch is too big
- players are too small and 'stocky'

overall, if PES never had the Champions League it'd probably be as bad as PES 2008

on a plus side, they've improved quite a bit on the graphics.

I have a good question - is there an idiot filter for this site (ie fanboys)? I have to pick through about 30 or so posts to find someone that says something intelligent

here is how I look at this constant fifa/pes battle. I'm an American. I used to play fifa until we6 (pes2) was released for ps2 in the states. In all the years prior to pes coming here I would occasionally play fifa and like it. then winning eleven came along. this video game actually made me interested in football. I would occasionally watch football from England (when I could get it), but wasn't the biggest fan.

It was this simple little game that peaked my interest in this beautiful game. now I can't get enough and I watch and folllow football more than any of the American sports I used to follow. i just dont get the same feeling with fifa as I do pes. yeah fifa has all the licenses and uniforms, etc. but if you are bored to tears with gameplay what is the point?

if konami had just release pes5 again for ps3/360 I would play that and be happy. I could care less about the logo on the shirt, players names, etc.

If I really want a particular team I can stop complaining and create them

that was like a breath of fresh air because that sounded like a blast from my past.
the only difference is that i played ISS on NINTENDO64 before i bought WE6 .
My interest in watching matches increased unbelievably especially the matches from the EPL maybe because you spend so much time editing these teams you really get the feeling you know the teams and the players.
i haven't played PES2009 yet but after all the hype for FIFA08 last year i was very dissapointed and couldn't even believe people thought it was better then PES08 so if PES2009 IS MUCH BETTER THEN PES2008
i'm having a hard time believing that FIFA09 IS BETTER THEN PES2009.

i beg to differ, goalkeepers are outstanding, i won a match 2 - 1 spain vs portugal, Casillas was a life saver, stopped everything, high, low, feet, hands, i wouldnt be suprised if he chested the ball once or twice, it seems a couple of bad experiences are what you are basing yoru opinion on, you have to play a few times, to get a real feel for the game.

The movment, is next to perfect, its as if you are watching tv sometimes, i mean just look at the way Drogba, or C.Ronaldo strike the ball, its fantastic.

and as for small and stocky, please fix your tv/pc screen, the player modeling on pro is almost perfect every year and this year is no different

My friend, if you enjoy pro for the same reason i do, I.e. Fluid gameplay. outstanding player models, realistic build up action, then you will have no trouble in loving PES 2009.

The following might sound like I hate PES, but trust me I dont. I think its waaaay better than FIFA. I only care about gameplay, not bothered about sock lengths (lol) and team licensing, but heres what I hate about PES 09 :

RED CARDS -

Played 3 Online matches before, over those 3 games I saw 4 red cards for great tackles (1 for me , 3 for my opponents). Ive only played a few offline games and the CPU got a ridiculous red card in one of them - clean tackle with many covering defenders in behind

BAD DECISIONS -

Im sick of great tackles being punished, i was hoping this would have been sorted out but unbelievably its got a lot worse this year

FINISHING -

dont get me wrong im not one for easy finsihing (like FIFA) but the finishing is sometimes a bit wierd. players love to hit it wide from close range. also, the silly toe pokes are annoying when u dont want to finish that way

players diving for a header instead of vollying it even when u've let the ball drop to near the feet

oh and for like the 6th PES in a row - when are are you going to be able to chip the keeper properly?? even when the keeper is quite a bit off his line, it either goes waaay over the bar or the keeper reaches it (unless the ball is bouncing)

AWARDED FREE KICKS / DELAY

when a free kick is awarded and the ball has moved (thus not allowing you to take a quick free kick) the game waits for too long without letting you carry on

KEEPERS KICKING

although its got a bit better - why can u still not direct kicks out of the keepers hands properly - how many years has this not been corrected now?

and a new one this year - WHY do keepers now attempt to slide for backpasses when a simple clearance is all u want. Thats happened and cost me 3 goals already

ONLINE

Im not sure whether the online is going to be improved and what things are going to be corrected with the update but at the moment Online is ridiculous

Even though there is generally less lag than 2008, the lag that exists seems to have more of an effect on general play.

As I mentioned before, im not sure whether silly red cards are being given online only (possibly due to lag) but theyve ruined a lot of my online games already.

Ive seen some very strange offside decisions ie. 10 yards onside being given as off

Players ghosting passed you when uve read the play perfectly

Not being able to control the movemnet of ur player properly

Online is generally quite sluggish, and the LOADING AND WAITING TIMES!!!!! bloddy hell! talk about fustrating. Have u tried having a second player stand over the free kick?? - dont bother - u will wait about 9 years

**Like I said, ignore the online stuff ive said if its gonna be sorted by the update**

While Im on the online subject - WHY DO PEOPLE INSIST ON WATCHING EVERY REPLAY???? PRESS START FOR F**K SAKE

lol i hit a nerve..now research why you would re-act like that..!!! (psycocholagy101) the reason is because there is truth in what im sayin, but your little brain does not want to hear it..hense blind loyalty..!!! 'jealous minds make weak minds'

look at the end of the day both EA and Konami are working for the same goal. if you were not so blind you would notice that in actual fact the new things pes2009 has this year have come form fifa and some of the new things that fifa have done ie. faster passing and shooting etc has come from PES( i bet you havnt even played fifa) each game wants the best bits from each other FACT.. each developer looks and each others game FACT..they are both trying to make the best mix FACT...calling people children all the time does not hide the FACTS...

Just imagine ( i know its hard) a football game that looks, feels and has all the angles of fifa mixed in with the game play of pes..!!! its next gen gaming, this i not to much to ask for...!!!!

Look im sorry if your too simple to understand football and games development.. your right EA never employs real football players to help with development HAHAHA.. you are so naive to think they dont..!!!

ok so now im confused, what you are saying is PES is the better game? AS you stated "the gameplay of pes"

and as i and i assume most people like me buy a football game for gameplay, pes = better game? correct me if im wrong?

from one of my games against Fiorentina, Sebastien Frey dropped everything and hes a top class keeper, this then happened in the other few matches I played - the keepers couldn't hold a thing.

And I wouldn't class being able to turn from a sprinting position into an almost right angled turn perfect movement, it just seems unrealistic...

I also mean the players are small in comparison to the enormous pitch.

To add something else, the gameplay just seems too fast.

Could someone who likes the game like to make a comment about why it plays the same on PS2 just with lower graphics?????????????? if i wanted a PS2 game i would have kept my PS2...!!!

Really, yes im aware frey should have grabbed those balls like there was glue on his hand :erm: im not sure my friend.

And as for the rigth angle turning, lol you are right i dont know what tht is about, i think its go to do with the way they have tried to incorparate all the movement in to the left sick, not great in my opinion.

But i was reffering to the player animations the way they run just like them and so son, i think that is outstanding.

also i have not really noticed anything abotu player sizes...maybe different camera views?

And really you think its to fast?

I think 2008 was fast and compared to that this is moving backwards, haha i think the speed is ok ?

MATE I AGREE WITH EVERYTHING YOU SAY
i've been open minded on this forum and all i've got is gripe of small minded individuals just for mentioning fifa in the same breath as pes

its not wrong for both games to be likeable
