I understand that, feel free to discuss PES good or bad, but having the need to bring FIFA into the equation misses the point. Comparing the games ain't going to do nothing. They are different games, you either like one or the other, or maybe you like both... Crying because PES doesn't play well for you, and you only. That's your choice.

What makes me laugh the most is the amount of problems FIFA09 has, and how long has it been out???? ANSWER ME THAT! FIFA no doubt has more bugs than PES, yet it was released a few days earlier than PES, have you got any patches/updates? No... You still have negative posts clogging the EA forums up. 100 times more topics than you have on these forums about the issues with PES.

How long has PES09 been out???? ANSWER ME THAT! The game has only just been released, Jesus Christ! No game is perfect, they all have bugs.

So your telling me you don't have to be mature to coach kids? Who are they suppose to look up too if you can't act as a responsible adult? I covered for a friend taking an after school coaching session, and its manic. I'd never do it again... Its not for me.

konami have been making football games longer than ea! and fifa gets updated everytime you log in
and comparing them is relevant because we want pro evo to be the best but we have to admit fifa is getting better and pro evo just hasnt grasped the online function at all

and your coaching quote! you couldnt do it so does that make you imature?................and to say who are you supposed to look upto is a joke any kid and anyone whos been a kid will know that they will look upto the older person my old coach was 21 when i was playing under 16s and he could handle and teach us

I wish Konami had waited another 6-8 months and release PES2009 but they probably haven't been able to because they are beginning to release that EA are pushing them into a franchise type situation.

why do you wish that unclefredo???????????

Good comeback by the way. Why do I wish they waited another 6-8 months? It's pretty simple really. It would be a better game. You're right when you say EA have more resources to handle software development than Konami give to it's football flagship game. FIFA is EA's most profitable game by some distance. Konami's biggest probably isn't PES, although I'm sure it's up there.

If PES had more time to implement the changes wished by the fans and the development teams, it would actually be a next gen football game. I think there's a real misconception that we'd want a football game to be like it is on TV. It would be crap. What gamers want is a football game that is fun to play, and that you can emulate what you real-life footballing counterparts can do. Personally I want a football game that I can dictate my style on. PES has always been best for me in that respect and FIFA show no signs of making the game any more unique.

Its a bigger problem of PES v FIFA. I hope Konami are producing the new Pro Evo as a sideline project, without promising a release date. That way they can keep the fanbase and give a truly amazing football game within the next 3 years. It's a time issue, and Konami have an amazing track record regarding producing truly groundbreaking games. Given time, I'm sure they could do it. However, as you surely can see, they're being forced to compete with FIFA's ridiculous release schedule - which is a mistake in my opinion. I don't think true PES fans would abandon the series if there wasn't a release for a couple of years.

However, its hard to see where the next gen can go with football simulations. I'm sure they'll release PES2010 but I hope it's a stepping stone to bigger things. For instance, its almost impossible to model a football match, as it involves 22 individuals, the environment, the players mindset, a sense of occasion, the unexpected, a huge slice of random probability, the physical condition of the players, I could go on for years.

There's a few things I'd like to see in next gen football games.

- A sense of momentum and home advantage - there are lots of reasons why being at home, or coming from behind, make a huge difference in matches but no game has really managed to mimic having a tougher game away from home.

- Proper injuries, related to actual contact between players, as opposed to going down holding the obligutary shin/knee

- Proper effects of weather on games. Wind and rain, aside from making the ball slightly faster doesn't seem to affect the ability of players to shoot/pass.

- Sense of occassion - aside from an opening sequence, there is no difference between a CL final, and a meaningless friendly.

There are loads of things. BEL is great, and so is the CL mode but there are bigger issues to tackle and I hope that PES takes a look at what it could be, rather than trying to compete with other titles

i would like to see proper weather effects eg.

the rain bouncing off the players and ball when close up
players slipping (altho that could cause arguments)
players getting muddy!!!! come on the old fifas could do it on ps1!!

shorts need to be shorter lol

and online it seems to be sprint.....tap R2 to do the stupid acute 90 degree turn in midsprint......repeat.............repeat............some of my games have become a task of guessing when the player is going to tap R2

FIFA is better? For you maybe, not me.

FIFA gets updated every time you login? So why are there still 100's of endless bugs?

FIFA online? That's all I seem to see on the EA forums, FIFA online sucks, FIFA online is this and that... I can hardly find anything good about this game online...

I couldn't do it so I'm immature? Far from it. It takes a mature person to realise what he can and can't do. I didn't want to do it because it wasn't for me. Not because I found it hard because I enjoyed it. I just don't fancy to carry on with it.

and to be honest the world we live in now games developers are just after money like every other business
Everyone knows that. But I feel EA are the worst from all.

what gets to me sometimes is people think konami is some tiny company,
yes EA is huge its core western market is bigger than konamis so it will make more money.
26 years ago EA was formed an was a small in-house company, look wer it is now, give it some credit, its done what is has purely for buisness cos it is a company, buying developers like say bullfrog.

konami do the same in the east, konamis been goin for nearly 40 years, yes not always as a games company, but both are the same in what they do, konami has the licenses in the east for the horseriding games, its massive over ther, so like i say all the time i'm just giving an insight into the post

poor little Konami all it wants is to make the best game while the big bad wolf EA doesnt care and all it wants is money...My god man you are so naive..

Again the 'FACT' is football is the biggest game there is and each developer has the same goal..where do you get your shit from sayin that EA is just about money..have you ever met a games developer??

i can assure you thats not the case..games developers are like electronc artists.

Konami obviously have their Eastern market, and they release alot of pap. However, the Eastern gaming community is alot different to the West. You surely know that having been to Asia remember? Konami, however, don't release Seabass Fishing 02/03/04/05/06/07 etc etc.

My friend works for Rockstar North in Edinburgh, who worked on the GTA4. So not only have I met one, I know one. You probably don't know this but they actually got a holiday in the scope of months, after it's release because the profits of it were so high. You don't see them creating GTA4 2009 after the release, with added Death Row Wanted List Live do you?

Konami, until recently have delivered on their targets, but are now struggling slightly to release the next killer installment of PES. EA used to be a great, honest games company but their sports releases are a joke. You and I both know without the likenesses and licensing, they'd have nothing.

I'm not naive because obviously Konami want money but EA are terrible at it and have been doing it for years. To me EA are unimaginative, boring and greedy. It's as simple as that. That's my opinion, have it your own way.

Also, why are you banging on about fact and philosophy? Philosophy is the search for truth, not fact. Good to see you know how to Copy and Paste. It's your second goal star in 2 days!

Can you tell me the last time EA brought out a truly great game?

Would you prefer if they didn't wear any at all? lol... :w00t[/QUOTE

well you sir have just showed you are at the height of the mature chart :D

i was refering to the length of the shorts they are wearing in the game, that in my opinion they seem very large

but hey i bow dowm to you my king of mature land

They both release completely different genres.

Some of the few...

Konami - Street Fighter, MGS, PES etc...

EA - All different sports games, Rainbow Six, GRAW etc...

As you can see they steer clear from one and another. The only games that compete are football. They both approach it different, which is why some get things right that others have been trying for ages and visa versa... ISS/PES in the good old days was released as a arcady football game. FIFA has never gone down that department. But EA have been trying to release a footy sim for ages and never get it quite right. Konami have a whack and get allot further than FIFA with their first release... You can't blame Konami for trying new things, and they have my support for this. They will get it right one day. EA? Graphics come first for them in every game they turn out. So it could be allot longer before you get a finished product from them.

i dont want to keep posting petty posts havin a go at what people are sayin cos that is what was happening to me but to say EA has been wanting money for years is not true, KONAMI wer just as bad a long time before, both companys are as bad as each other, and both are in the game for the same thing, money, what else would they be in it for? yes making good games obvs, but i'm pretty cerain it takes a back seat in both parties, admitadley EA more so

they both compete in the baseball games market wich EA triumphs in.
as for fifa it was released as an arcade game also, which admitadley tried to be a sim.
you say you cant blame konami for trying new things, well why blame EA?
you keep saying graphics come first with them, they have a good graphics engine, lets not have a go at them for that

OK so you are normal...like i said before its not an issue of fifa being better than pes... however some things are better.. when a player receives the ball or kicks or shoots or runs with the ball its way way way better on fifa, every angle is covered by different animations, why cant pes do that too..?? the faults that it has can be fixed with time and effort.. but why should they bother everyone buys it anyway..!! thats what making the best game is about and im sorry but Konami is no better than EA when it come to football...
