You can't do anything but simply play. If you're played much and getting good ratings each game then you're likely to develop faster and better than you're predicted to. That's pretty much all there is to develop curve and the dot.

my team plays me a LMF even though i am right footed and play CF... i always go out of my area so iget bad ratings and get subbed.
i just dont get why they moved me from a CF to a LMF...:crymore:

so pretty much looking at all the previous posts, BAL is just random. The game decides for you how good your player will become etc. Thanks, that was all I needed to hear not to try it at all. As Shaun7 mentioned, why can't we determine our own development curve in the way we perform on the pitch...sigh...konami dissapoints again

I completely agree , this is a bounch of crap , KONAMI needs to completely overhaul the whole BAL next year otherwise im not even bothering with it anymore.

your performances determine your development, the curve is there as a guide to show how your player will develop should he meet his potential, the red dot on the graph shows whether or not you are performing above or below your potential.

What position/s was/were there when you chose the team? Maybe they were looking for someone to play wings/SMFs and that's why you're asked to play there?

they needed SMF, AMF, SS, CF. but still, i have no hisrory of playing as a MF

Well, maybe they feel like having SS/CFs good enough and use you as a SMF then? Well, I am playing a registered SS, and usually I play CF in Chelsea but every once in a while I'm playing CMF and even once was DMF... It just happens.

Bullcrap

You can never be just as good as lets say Kaka , or Benzema ...

Im not even mentioning the ridicilous Aguero , Messi , Ronaldo ... almost all stats 99 and very few below 90..

And no your performance doesn't affect your development , you just occasionaly on important matches get strenght points and thats it , the whole BAL is very ridicilous , if I go a season and don't play a single match I will be the same as if I play a season and score 40+ goals , ALMOST NO difference at all , KONAMI needs to change this so that your points go up depending on your match performances not by default for each match, or something similar.

that is probably the most ailly thing i ever hered about BAL.
let see you play a season with only skipping matches. you wouldn't gain one point. i would assume everybody will agry with me.

how can one make sure you reach your full potensial, do you have to score 35 goals each match just to get a 8.0 rating, or what? Even in my master league every fucking player is below his curve...why?

also, has anyone seen a higher rating than 8? fucking hell, I have R9 Ronaldo in my Inter squad in ML, and last night he scored 2 goals with 1 assist and only got a 7.5??? WTF???? he completed 9/10 passes and had very good stats allround...In PES08 I've seen a couple of 9's and 8.5's etc. but I've never seen anything higher than 8 in PES09, that is just stupid.

Amaaaaaaaazing, that ridiculous shit right there

what did the player do? Score 35 goals, got 40 assists and blew every player on the field? It's ridiculous that it's so hard to get a good rating. And only attacking players can get such a high rating...

haha

have you ever played BAL

i've just finished my 8th season and on the development graph my player is at 90, considering BAL runs for 18 seasons i'm sure he is going to get alot better aswel.

Yes in real life certain players, Messi, Ronaldo etc, are awesome at a young age but do you not think BAL would be boring if your player was brilliant at that age, you would achieved everything on the game by the time you were 20!

Also although you do gain development points by skipping matches you quite clearing get more and develop faster by playing matches and consistently getting ratings over 7.

what do you need to do to get consistent ratings of over 7? My players would score a hat trick and still get a 6.5 and sometimes just a 6???

just get involved, make sure you pass completion is high, also try to get as many intercepts as possible, i play cmf and find that even if i havn't scored or assisted i can get a 7+ rating just by being involved.

Well it seems that the ratings are dependent on a few things. 1 if you are on the winning team. 2 how many completed passes you make so meaning you passed 24 times and 23 were complete etc. 3 If you were involved in any assists so 1 assist or 2 assists. 4 If you have any shots on goal and how many of those shots were on target i.e. 5 shots on goal and 5 on target. Finally how many goals that you scored, so if you score many or even one then your rating goes up. I think also looking for the ball and being involved in the play helps with the rating but I think that the biggest factor sometimes can be your team winning. I have played brilliant idividual games scoring goals but being on the loosing side and still not getting as good a rating as members of the opposition who didn't play as well but were on the winning side. Hope that makes things clear!
