dont need one if you make control of the players so good the user can do this himself just with the thumbstick...

this is the problem with fifa just because you have automated button commands doesnt mean realism or simulation.......simulation is when you let the user have total control not cpu asssitance via the press of a button

I want a game that makes me constantly 'think', 'react' and 'adapt'.

I dont care about that PASSING BAR or MANUAL CONTROL. If I want to control a ball manually then I will go outside and do so.

I assume these players in the game are professional players so I dont think they need my MANUAL GUIDANCE for every pass.

If I pick Inter Milan I want Zanetti to pass like Zanetti , not like 'ME'.

Aparently someone from gamescom has played fifa on total manual saying it shits all over pes. which he said he also tested and stated its worse than pes 09...

anyone else thinking "i have no idea who he wants to win"

LOL, just sit and watch any video of pes, there is no jockeying...!!

also yes i understand you can run along side or near to the player with the ball but you cant jockey them, sorry pes just dosnt work like that its to fast/easy to dribble round people...

its somthing that needs to take more of a role in both games TBH.. unfortunately the average fifa player just chases down the ball as in what happens in pes, but in fifa when your good enough to use it it makes the game so much more real...

The arguments are becoming redundant repeating the same things over and over isn't helping people who wants to know more about the game. You guys should concentrate on how Konami should improve the game rather than comparing it to fifa. For the Fifa lovers go the fifa forums and discuss the game, this isn't pes vs fifa thread, I think people would have gotten it by now.

The new graphics really adds a new dimension to the game, like many previewers said you can't help but appreciate how good the game looks, now I just wish some of the old trick will make their way back to the game, like quick dribbling on sideline before you cross a la iss 64, these quick moves that made the game so much fun and realistic. Too bad I no longer have my 64 to compare teh gameplay vs the pplaystation's ones.

On top of that you have the right trickstick making a return so trick lovers got their wishes, and I am looking forward to manual goalkeeping to see how much impact this new feature is going to have on the game. The game isn't as bad some would like it to be, I am starting to think that some people would just want the game to be bad so that they can b!tch about it.

Anything look odd to you guys in the gamescom vids? The new animations that Konami promised haven't yet been implemented or what? I'd like some new animations, since we've had those since 08. Other than that, looks promising and cant wait for the demo.

Its been stated many times that the animations look outdated relating the graphics specifically the "running animation, but it also been said that all the animations haven't been implemented yet into the game so we have to wait and see how the final product comes out, but so far only good previews coming out from the top gaming sites, thing are looking quite good as of now.

I took one look at those videos, and its obvious something isnt quite right.

Now, here's whats really going on at Gamescom, this is from an actual Pes playtester on another forum

I really hate to say this but dont get your hopes up for this years game. I think PES will disappoint once again this yea

ive been watching football on the terraces for over 25 years as well as playing football games for twenty,i know what speed real football is played out at and what it looks like.

football speeds up and slows down its not played out at a one tempo like fifa,look at the pes2010 videos and see how the game speeds up and slows down when the game is stretched and compact this is real.

Dont even bother trying to convince me that fifa10 speed is accurate football is lightning quick at times...

All the morons on evo-web dont no shit about sport or football,moaning about pes2010 being to fast,do they not realise how quick the real game is now or that keepers do make mistakes.Not only that but most of them are still playing pes09 despite the fact they wont admit it and just bitch about it.

If they loved fifa so much why have they been doing nothing but scrutinising what konami are doing because they in there hearts know that fifa doesnt give you that same feeling when you make a killer pass or strike the ball and never will and doesnt play like real football.That is why fifa is the couch potatoes favourite(geeks)the ones that have been into football for five minutes and have never played the game while the purists will always prefer pro evo....why because fifas more accessible and allows you to score un-realistic easy goals and does not have the tactical depth of pes or the player individuality.

Fifa09 might have manaul passing but its wild and unpredictable and a labour of love its not intuitive and refined like it was on the n64 in the ISS days.

How can you say youve played games like iss n64 and iss psx and still beat the fifa drum........i think you pretend to have been playing konami games longer then you have to back yourself up when even you must see that pes2010 seems to be a welcome return to konamis earlier simulation routes and deeper player control of ISS on the n64.

don't you all think it's a bit strange that he cares so much and it bothers him so much that after all he said and all the faults he pointed out in PES we still love it much more than FIFA.

but not being able to accept the fact that we don't share his opinion, because we have a mind of our own and can decide what we like and don't like just makes me wonder.
why can't he agree to disagree and that preference is something personal and can not be drilled in.

i for one wouldn't want to disagree with him about money or politics.

PES moves much better than FIFA if you ask me and looks realistic.

it's called having an opinion and most people have their own so you better start getting used to it.
that's why most of us are here because we share the same taste in football games so we share an opinion and it doesn't mean we agree about everything but when it comes down to football games we do.

Anyways, I dont fuck a rats ass fuck which game you buy, Its just annoying being called anti pes by people who dont actually know anything about PES or the other game they compare it too.

Most of the posters on here actually think Assisted= more control than manual.

Or dont know how teamvision works, Or didnt know there was AI cheating etc.

Hopeless.

I see your point, Konami screwed up by showing such a flawed game at gamescom that created such cynicism about the game from a business standpoint that was a bad move. At the same time no Pes game that I know ever suffered from inadequate response before, so I will give Konami the benefit of the doubt that they will be able to fix the problem before game launch in october. I am not getting my hopes too high, but with all the changes that are already being implemented into the game I have reasons to be a bit optimistic about the final product, if Konami screws up big to the point I can't paly the game, you know what they say, "there is always next year."
