.
For me its simple FIFA wins if your loyal to the realistic road, the road that PES started to build...
PES wins if you enjoy a more classical fantasy style simultaion, the road more traveled by fifa's past....
now i'm sure people will disagree, but hey so did all those fifa fans while i was off enjoying ISS....
Mate its all true, these people cannot understand that I dont hate PES, I hate what PES has turned into, arcade, sloppy, stagnant and not realistic. The game has barley moved on since PES3.
just over a year ago, if you had told me I would have been playing fifa, I would have laughed at you, that game was shit to me....until the store manager in my local GAME told me to not be ignorant and give fifa 09 a try, then i saw what people were going on about.
The roles have been reversed, that what people dont get, it makes me cringe when people blab on about shit like
"But pes's graphics are amazing and thats a major deal"
When you hear garbage like that, you know these people started at pes 5/6 cos they havent been playing long enough to understand what pes was all about.
Gameplay over graphics
and
Realism over licences
Its not about that anymore, game went commercial and sold out, all this 'PES 2008/2009' stuff instead of pes 5,6,7, concentrating on getting shitty licenses rather than improving core aspect of game play, fucking dumbing down the gameplay for noobs....totally goes against what made the game great in the first place.
The game has been sold out and caught up by a company with far more resources, intent on totally fucking ruining it beyond repair.
Again, even WENB were saying in this weeks podcast, in their opinion (and they have played fifa 10), fifa are a few improvements away from really putting the nail in pes, and seabass needs to think very carefully about how he goes about developing pes in the next year or so.
Now that could be bullshit, but im telling you this, if fifa can find out a way to marry powerbar passing with more player individuality+ better graphics.....its gonna hurt PES bad. Im telling you longevity and individuality is what is keeping pes going right now, they cant afford to lose ground in those areas.
Having said that, if pes can produce a game engine capable of producing realistic games of football, then PES is going to be very difficult to top.
Anyways that's my take on it.
