Thats some straight up street slang

Pez 4eva!

Ahhh fuck it.

You know what, not sure I can be arsed anymore, had some laughs though.

Highlights would have to be Perfectstrik actually making people think his build of pes was 'light years' ahead of all the others. Great laugh

another is moronic individuals trying to tell me a game which has not been proven to play a lag free game of soccer on next gen consoles, is equal to the game which has, they cant understand that 2 playtesters going online and playing a game before release to the mass market, isn't the same as thousands of people worldwide all connecting at the same time and doing it.

Then you got people who think, the license of two competitions itself (not the teams in it) is better than having the major european and south american leagues licensed.

Special mention for those who think cpu assisted controls give you more control then manual controls.

Classic shit.

I think the future of PES is certainly in safe hands, with logic like this, the feedback for the game can only improve.

^But still you cannot slate a game which you haven't played.
For online we should wait and then compare. Maybe konami really did improve online that much or maybe they didn't. Who know.
We certainly don't. The playtesters can tell better, but as you said, there needs to be a mass of people playing it.
Still they can say about online better than us at the moment. Since at least they tested the online.

Oh and cpu assisted and manual are different things. Stop bringing that up.
You know that in classic pes (6 and 5 etc) the cpu assisted but taking use of the stats of the individual. That increased individuality.

Well, here's to hoping the developers have finished their extended holiday since PES5, and can bring us a half decent game... must say I'm liking the addition of all the new African & Asian national teams, however if the gameplay is crap, then anticipation for such things will prove to be very trivial indeed.

it all reminds me of around the year 1998, fifa 97-98 stood as king of all football games for PS1....i had been playing ISS before but it wasnt til later on in its PS1 days that it really started to challenge the top of console football games...

there was a few years where Fifa and iss(pes) didnt really have a Vs vibe going, it was simply "yeah fifa's good but i really like how this iss game plays, it seems more realistic/ mmm through ball.."

With the dawn of the PS2 came the begining of the Vs...fifa had its loyal fans still holding on to gameplay of 98' and plush new graphics, while ISS had the purists football fans on a journey of passionate gameplay..

ISS was the first game i got with my PS2 (great game) however the general consensus was that the fifa series were the better games(i didnt think so) and remained king of the whole Vs sizzle..!! it wasnt till PES3 that PES became the critically acclaimed king of football games, a title it held till pes2008...

you see even with PES3 being critically acclaimed as king people would still fight the fight for fifa being the best and would not concede in any circumstance, they would till say that the gamplay was better and PES had too many glitches and funny names bla bla bla...

alot of peeps here remind me of those fifa fans, they just dont get it... i even think they're the same people and they switched over to pes with pes4/5/6.. they dont understand the whole CONCEPT around the differing gamplays and prefer to sick to what they have become accustomed....

For me its simple FIFA wins if your loyal to the realistic road, the road that PES started to build...

PES wins if you enjoy a more classical fantasy style simultaion, the road more traveled by fifa's past....

now i'm sure people will disagree, but hey so did all those fifa fans while i was off enjoying ISS....

Mate its all true, these people cannot understand that I dont hate PES, I hate what PES has turned into, arcade, sloppy, stagnant and not realistic. The game has barley moved on since PES3.

just over a year ago, if you had told me I would have been playing fifa, I would have laughed at you, that game was shit to me....until the store manager in my local GAME told me to not be ignorant and give fifa 09 a try, then i saw what people were going on about.

The roles have been reversed, that what people dont get, it makes me cringe when people blab on about shit like

"But pes's graphics are amazing and thats a major deal"

When you hear garbage like that, you know these people started at pes 5/6 cos they havent been playing long enough to understand what pes was all about.

Gameplay over graphics

and

Realism over licences

Its not about that anymore, game went commercial and sold out, all this 'PES 2008/2009' stuff instead of pes 5,6,7, concentrating on getting shitty licenses rather than improving core aspect of game play, fucking dumbing down the gameplay for noobs....totally goes against what made the game great in the first place.

The game has been sold out and caught up by a company with far more resources, intent on totally fucking ruining it beyond repair.

Again, even WENB were saying in this weeks podcast, in their opinion (and they have played fifa 10), fifa are a few improvements away from really putting the nail in pes, and seabass needs to think very carefully about how he goes about developing pes in the next year or so.

Now that could be bullshit, but im telling you this, if fifa can find out a way to marry powerbar passing with more player individuality+ better graphics.....its gonna hurt PES bad. Im telling you longevity and individuality is what is keeping pes going right now, they cant afford to lose ground in those areas.

Having said that, if pes can produce a game engine capable of producing realistic games of football, then PES is going to be very difficult to top.

Anyways that's my take on it.

Tbh even though Pes has gone stale recently the offline in 08 and 09 was still so much more funner than Fifa. Pes has alot more things going for it than people give it credit for. Like the Master league. Quite possibly the most addictive feature of any game ive ever played. That is a major plus point and BAL kicks Fifa's weak ass BAP so hard konami's foot is coming out of Fifa's mouth. Offline Pes is a nailed on certainty to be fun and addictive.

I dont understand how you can say the series staggnated from Pes 3. Absolutely not true. Its definetly got to be from Pes 6 Ps2 no doubt atall. Pes 6 was the peak of the series and the 360 version isnt half as bad as most of you beilieve it is. Now the Graphics in Pes are more than just next gen, their fucking breathtaking. It adds so much to the gameplay like how much better its gonna feel doing something special with Messi when the Messi your controling looks exactly like him. Will really add to the realism.

Fifa imo is always gonna suck to me. Ok 09 was an amazing game but tbh if it had Pes's online it would suck and suck hard. The offline modes in fifa could literally put me to sleep. By the time ive completed a season on MM the sun would of fucking imploded and BAP is so shit my career will be over befor im leagally aloud to drink (21 in USA). Now gameplay. In Fifa they seem to have this feature in the game called "You will never dribble round someone". What a fun feature this is. No more are the days where i can move around a player like in real life, gone are the days where i can move to within 10 feet of an opposing player without loosing the ball and never again will i have to worry about beating my man head on because it simply cant happen.

There seems to be this thing in Fifa that if a defender, even if its Igor Biscan, closes you down theres nothing you can do about it. You cant muscle him out of the way, you cant hold the ball up and you cant take it round him. It turns the game into a cat and mouse match where your pinging the ball around like a happy sack. The reaction times are so slow that even if your playing in a different city with a striker the defender will be able to catch a flight, go through check in, leave the airport in a taxi and get onto your pitch and tackle you befor you can turn and pass the ball off. Reaction times are stuff of true horror.

I cba to go on any more. Basically i think pes will always be better in gameplay now.

I doubt it, there are people who will never switch to fifa no matter what, especially when Konami is making an effort to improve the game and the same goes for Fifa too. As long each game has its fan base the competition will always be there. Also I think pes will get some of its fans back with PES 10, you can't deny that the game is much better than 09 and has the foundation to only get better.

As long as PES has the usual addictive, responsive, and fulfilling gameplay it will always be KING.

Lets face it that EA SPORTS knows nothing about game play.

NBA Live (By EA Sports) is total garbage in gameplay in comparison with NBA 2k9(By 2K Sports)... All that EA does in the basketball series is to come out with cheesy marketing upgrades to the game that does not add value to game play.

Maddden by EA Sports has always been a game that lacked the gameplay, especially in the response time, it takes ages for the player to respond.

Yes EA has tons of money to toss around, and yes they are great at Marketing... But they dont have a clue in what they are doing in regards to game play... The game can have 100s of features but if the gameplay is boring what is the use for any, what the used for license leagues if the gameplay sucks. Useless!!

PSM3 are full of shit and they are very bias towards PES. I wouldnt take their article seriously. Online a tie? PES has shit online, FIFA is hands down the winner in that regard.

Licenses? As far as I'm concerned ( a PS3 owner ) I would MUCH rather have the two major EURO competitions than all of FIFAs licenses. Fifa has so many teams that its just hard to feel the difference between any of them. It seems like 75% of the teams are generic with a different coat of paint ( licenses ).

From the previews that I have gathered so far most have been very positive. It seems if you like the old PES gameplay then you will like PES2010 which ( and this is what people who want to tell other people what's good for them need to pay attention to ) I AM PERFECTLY happy with PES5/6 GAMEPLAY with new graphics and more animations....

FIFA is yet to top PES5/6.

However, I will buy both because it seems FIFA10 has gotten better. It'll be the same story in the end though: Me and my friends will play FIFA for a few matches and be in awe with the new animations and the fluidity and then we will realize that the game is not as dep as it first seems and that there is no individuality.

PES2010? My and my friends played the shit out of PES2009 ( with loads of cursing at the screen for the all the little bugs in the game ) and we had a freaking blast playing it. So I have no doubt that PES2010 will once again win out with its GAMEPLAY and LONGEVITY and INDIVIDUALITY....

***PSM3 is full of shit and I would suggest PESfans dont take them serious bc they are always biased.

Pes2010 is Pes6 with;
superior grafix + 360 dribbling + more animations

Don't look at to videos which are posted form Gamescom, none of players have enough ability play the game.. None of them were play-making.. non-stoply through balls and direct passing.. thats why we assume the game is a lil bit faster... I'm so confident on PES2010.. I'll be getting it on October 15th..

Agree with you on the NBA but have you played Madden 10? Its the one of the best sports title released this year. I think they are making steady improvements and EA is actually making more effort than Konami in interacting with the community.

Lets face it the last good PES was 6 everything after that was garbage. I dont see how people can defend 2009 compared to FIFA. That was pure arcade fest man not to mention the referee went all wild with the cards (according to the WENB forums this still hasn't been corrected for 10).

Lets see how things turn out to be but personally not too optimistic, I feel that once something goes down it stays down (unless if you're talking about bedroom antics).

Well... FIFA certainly went down after '98 and was trailing PES without doubt for the next 10 years. But no one can deny the fact, that FIFA no longer is down after the ´09 installment and maybe also after the '10 installment.
Just to prove your statement "wrong"... ;)

I thought fifa09 was actually better for player individuailty while playing clubs, its true that while playing as the whole team you cant feel the difference as much as you can in PES, but in clubs the players really came to life for me....

I played as Fabergas, Rooney, Totti and Nihat in my club and the feeling for each one was very different it was amazing, it really felt like i was controlling those players.. i would have to adapt how i played to fit each player and position...!!!!

I dont think they're that far away, we'll see with 10

The problem about the game engine is that its built on a Japanese core..

Ps Tech_skills gameface beta is up and running...

"Be a Pro still (slightly) better" than Become a Legend?

What, when you hang up your boots as a 20-year-old? Very realistic mode, that is.

lol... yep. Be a Pro has more depth to it, with news reports about your player and cool things like that, and it's easier and faster to progress (naturally, with it only being 5 years long), but Become a Legend still gets the nod from me because it actually lets you play a whole career. Not to mention, I've found it quite hard to really customise a face in FIFA, everyone ends up looking more or less the same.

totally agree, FIFA is so far behind in almost every department that matters.
really looking forward to the demo because judging from the videos i'm not that impressed.
the only thing i want to get my hand on at the moment is the setpiece creator because that looks cool.
