and never mind magazine/online reviews. Just pour through the posts here and someone looking to buy the game could never figure out if it is good or bad. Comes down to playing.

Although I have like the demo II gameplay, I worry about a lot of small things with the final version. I was just thinking earlier how annoying it was to play a season mode and never play against other club's star players because they were always benched. Never once played against Arsenal with RVP in the lineup for 2012 yet I played a lot of seasons. those little things make the game enjoyable. On the other side, FIFA12 career mode is crap, and 13 is already getting the thumbs down for the mode.

About your second issue, while holding A and you have the proper moment to tackle, press RB/R1 (the sprint button). I mean both at the same time when you want to tackle.

Yeah cheers man but I already know how to do that. The tackle with tapping 'A' twice is my issue, sometimes the other tackle with RB+A fails at making the tackle, like if you run in and get out of position then you let go of RB to get back in position then press RB again to tackle(all while holding A) you can get some angles on the attacker where the defender won't make the tackle and thats when you need to press 'A' twice to compensate. There might be a few other scenarios where RB+A is not a perfect system but can't think of them at the moment. The defense system with RB+A is not perfect the way it is so thats why I think they added the 'A' twice. You could say I'm not timing it right sometimes but I have noticed times when RB+A has failed to tackle for me especially in the example I mentioned. Either way, pressing 'A' twice is not ideal.

FIFA 13 may be behind in terms of gameplay experience, but with all the BS going with PES's ML mode and the hype about FIFA 13 revamped career mode, FIFA may finally have a fixed Manager mode and on top of Master League for once, which is amazing seeing that Master League is PES's bread and butter

I don't get the ML love. In it's first iterations it was great, but now? Stuck with one team constantly? No freedom to move as a manager? That killed it when they never fixed that.

Limited room for movement anyway and poor half sized 2nd division too.

and i am such an old fogie that I can't see playing with mixed rosters. I need authentic rosters to make it fun for me. With EA and Konami catering to the 'fantasy' sports world they are beginning to mess it up for people like me. Watching FIFA12 sell an entire team's defense in coach mode is excruciating. You should see what EA has done to Madden this year with all this 'fantasy' playing. Totally ruined it.

Fair enough, but it's not as though PES hasn't had it's fair share of stupid transfers.

I prefer playing lower league, or other lesser league roles in FIFA (Denmark being a current fave), little cash, more onus on finding the right deals for better players & investment in scouts & scouting to build a pool of youth players.

You just can't do that in PES.

5min matches only RM

Konami employing the same tactic as EA now so. Giving you enough for a tease but not enough that you'll fully get used to it so you'll want more because you won't know what its really like till you buy it. Sneaky marketing bastards.

Master League and Become a Legend are the only things I play on PES really. I like building my own team, changing kits every year etc and building up the club gradually. I like the Teams to be authentic at first and after the first season I don't care what the other clubs do until I have to play them. However I do care about some of the transfers that happen, like Gerrard going to Chelsea etc... It's just kinda unrealistic. Although Van Persie going to United this season was quite a shock signing in my eyes. But meh.

The whole big deal about the boots doesn't bother me in the slightest either. I don't see the big deal really. *shrugs*

The more I play the PC Demo the move I love this years instalment though.

Another Vid testing out my set-up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2hav4HVr150

Think I am ready for the game to be released now :D

Yep, but a few years ago now, back in the days when I used to use my PC for gaming rather than consoles.

Problem with FM is that it's too in-depth. I don't care about setting up training plans or worrying about the price of a bleeding hot-dog. FIFA strikes the balance in the same way that Sensi World of Soccer on the Amiga did for me many years ago. I don't care about the realistic names or advertising, but I do like the arcade-light management where you buy and sell, set up your team etc. SWOS had more leagues though... eyewateringly so! I like the scouting in FIFA 2012 too.

One other thing FIFA does well it the sliders. I ramp up the potential for injury and lower the serious injuries, means that you have players unavailable for one or two games more often, a bit more like in real life.

and that is a great reason why even though I don't like the coach mode with the selling of players on other clubs.....I like it better than just playing a EPL tournament. Because your squads get tired out because of the CC and FA cups. In tournament mode, each game has 100% fitness for all players so no needed lineup changes...boring. Just wish coach mode also had the European Cup (alias Champions League) for the first year of a club's history. I can't move into the second year because squads get to crazy.

I am turning this into the FIFA12 thread...I will stop now.

theirs some cracking comments from FIFa players over on the EA Forums

It does indeed seem that PES is leaving Fifa for dead as far as atmosphere goes.

With the release date finally announced I've pre ordered it. I honestly can't wait, the demo is the most interesting football game I can remember playing. It took a while to get rid of my FIFA instincts and get used to an actual football game again but it's well worth it when you do.
I'll give the FIFA13 demo a go but I can't say I've seen anything to suggest it's not the same ridiculously fast paced skill move dribbling game that the other FIFA's are. When EA finally add inertia so they can balance the game properly then I'll consider going back, but I can't say I've even heard them mention wanting to do it.

how ridiculous is it that for all the bells and whilstes that fifa gets every year they still have not implemented a system for how people MOVE

its beyond ridiculous now..

FIFA will never be a football a simulation. Will it be a really fun, football-like game? Sure. But Rutter and his blokes cannot call it a football simulation.

But I love the feel of the game. I can play fantastic possession football that is pretty much impossible in FIFA. If only there were day when the two could be merged into one game... I could die a happy man

i think they should take the defensive from demo 1 to the retail version. in demo 2 the defensive is like in pes2012 and because of that 2012 was a let down. you can have good paths and good timing but the ball is away....in demo 1 it was very balanced in demo 2 its like arcade where its really luck to defend

What are you on about?
If you're talking about atmosphere and fan reviews, then FIFA would be the better game. More people will be praising FIFA than PES always regardless of how good PES is because FIFA's a game more people are used to and a 'commons' peoples game
