Why are there not more unlicensed teams?

As a Celtic fan I am very disapointed that Celtic are not in PES 2017. I understand they can not get the licenses but why can they not create a glasgow green instead of celtic even if it is fake player names like they used to do?

I remember back in the day when it was ISS playing with a fake celtic and having Neil Lemon in my team, things like that in my opinion were what made PES and ISS brilliant fun.

I mean, most people do not play PES because of licenses, but I presume most people don't want to spend hours (if you are as slow as me, I bought the game last year and only just finished editing last month because I could not always be bothered doing it, but it takes away from the fun) creating a new team and transfering players from clubs or as I did with PES 2016 changed one of the other European teams to Celtic, it was a right pain.

Is it really so difficult to create a bunch of unlicensed teams?

If Fifa can create a barrell load of licensed leagues including the SPL, why can't PES create an unlicensed SPL, and unlicensed leagues of all the leagues FIFA have?

At the very least there should be an unlicensed Celtic, Celtic must be the biggest supported team (50,000 season ticket holders, tens of thousands if not more of celtic tv subscribers based all around the world and a club that is ranked in the top 10 clubs in the world for shirt sales) without an unlicensed team in PES, it is criminal as well as bad business sense.

I tried searching the site but could not see anyone previously asking this question, apologies if I have missed it. But I would love to know if there is a simple logical reason fot not having more unlicensed teams.

Hi mate.

I know the feeling about not having time enough to edit a team (and complete it). But a such league you describe, would also be a pain in the ass for the developers. Celtic is unluckily enough to not be licensed in the game, and a league with unlicensed teams are highly unthinkable (Mostly because they would be forced to get some teams with real player names, and some wothout). But also because it will take to much time. The PES comunity and development team are a lot smaller then the one EA have. Which may give them a hard time developing stats. EA, have around five to six people (mostly fans of the series) in each of the countries they have leagues in. This make it easier for EA to create stats. The PES-stats there are in the game is the game developers who have to look countless of hours into what rating they deserve.

So to the thing about the fake teams. A fake Celtic team would be able to get the real player names, because of Scotland membership in FIFPRO. While a team like BATE Borisov would be with fake player names, because of Belarus isn't a member.

About part of the SPL. It's a league there are ranked lower then leagues like the Ukrainian, the Cypriot, the Belarusian and the danish leagues, so don't expect that to happen at least before the Bundesliga us included as a fake league.

There's a lot of unlicensed fake teams on PES (teams in PEU League) you can use one of those to recreate the celtics

Yes they are fake. I dont want 60 fake teams in my game when they could be real unlicensed teams that just have fake names, kits and badges. I might have to get fifa unless the demo gameplay is amazing in pes 2017

That makes sense what you are saying, but for sure then it would not be too hard to have Celtic as an other European team. So why do they not do an unlicensed Celtic? I would gladly volunteer to do the stats for an unlicensed Scottish league or even just Celtic if they are struggling for volunteers. I am pretty sure they would find plenty of volunteers for each country if they asked.

What do you mean by "real unlicensed team with fake names, kits and badges" ? What's the difference between those and the teams that are included in the PEU league ?

It is happening again

Teams in the PEU are completely made up teams, not based on real ones. I believe he is referring to real teams, but with fake names. So taking Celtic for example, they could be in the game as "GLASGOW GREEN & WHITE".... or something stupid like "CELQUIZOB", and instead of real player names like M. DEMBELE, they could have "M. DIZHLUSPLOP".

Yes exactly. They used to do that long ago. They probably cant do that anymore. They do for national teams thou.

This year they better fix having fake teams from india and Uzbekistan having names like McShane and Johnson. They wont. That pisses me off. I looked up common last names from teams like that and changed them.

I was too a bit dazzled for the small amount of Other European Teams. But I think (and hope) that they will add more in upcoming Data Packs like last year. Plus now there are the Option Files for PS4 so you don't have to edit anything yourself, just download a file and put it on your console.

Data packs? I did not see this, is this an expansion pack to buy from the ps store?

Also, where can I download the files from?

Thanks :D

Lol no :D they are free must-to-downloadable packs which add usually new rosters, teams, stadiums, balls, kits, faces, stats etc.
