GTA IV Trailer, Not Teaser
An article on GamesRadar has removed our collective worries with word from Rockstar that we will indeed have a proper trailer. The article itself has GR's thoughts on the Top 7 Things GTA IV Needs, however the part you're most interested in is the following.

The official trailer for Grand Theft Auto IV is only a few days away as of this writing, and publisher Rockstar has promised that it won't just be some infuriatingly quick teaser. Instead, it'll offer up the first substantial look into what the game is all about, and internet speculation over what that might be has kicked the rumor mill into high gear.

Well I could have told you it was Big Lebowski related. The film itself is set in California, but then again San Andreas was set around that region. Maybe its a reference to the stars - perhaps Jeff Bridges or John Goodman will be doing voices? Fuck knows. Bowling is obviously a strong theme in the film though.

I'm pretty sure Rockstar North said that they would never include animals or children. Animals could change since a lot of games allow you to kill animals but the children one I'm not really suprised if they don't add them. This was before San Andreas.

I hope they don't put animals in, apart from cats maybe. ¬_¬ I also hope that if it takes place in London, you can travel to other countries, otherwise it'll be a bit wankish.

Aye I hope it's not set in London as well, I couldn't stand a game set by that awful awful accent.

The 70's might be some sort of a logical step as we've had the 60's, 80's and 90's.

Bully had dogs in it who only really appeared on the paper rounds and would chase you. So dogs are an almost cert. My guess is more changes in weather will be apparent too, snow is an almost definite.

I'm pretty confident it'll be set in the present day (2006ish). I may be just clutching at straws, but I reckon they'll follow the GTA 3 format of present day first, then going in the past. Maybe 70's there.

I fucking hope it's not set in space or something daft like that. :rolleyes: I wouldn't mind the 70s like, hopefully they never go further back than that though, otherwise I'll feel betrayed and raise hell.
