Hello,
Back in the days, I created an option file for the PS2 version of PES 2008. This game is a real gem (in my opinion, the best PES on the PS2) and has been shadowed by his atrocious PS3 brother.
This article is a really good one if you don't know this game very well : https://liberomagazine.wordpress.com/2019/12/02/the-lost-football-game-pes2008-review/
As usual, the philosophy of the Juventino OF was to keep the original gameplay (meaning original stats, original squads, ...) but improving all the visual aspects (real names, upgrade lhe unlicenced kits, ...) for a better gaming experience. I did this, because, back in the days, we played a lot with friends, at the university, ... and to not create any surprise for the players (or give them an easy excuse for when they lose), I decided to keep the original gameplay.
Lately, I went through my OF and fixed the very few issues that were present, mostly in the colors of the namesets and numbers and did some small other improvements like creating a nice kit with a technical sponsor and Konami as main sponsor for the PES United and WE United teams which I like to add to my Master League as "rival" teams.
As an Easter Egg, I've also added the Sweet Years logo (remember PES 4 ) to be used as logo for my created Master League team.
Here're the features :
- Real club names
- Real player names
- Real competition names
- Real stadium names
- Updated kits for unlicenced clubs
- Updated kits for national teams (each national team has its own badge and technical sponsor)
- Updated kits for PES United and WE United teams
- Updated kits for the classic teams
- Sweet Years logo
Then, recently, I've put some work (about 100 hours !) to improve my OF and the following features :
- Created Luis Hernandez so that he can be used in the Master League team based on his "PES Miti del Calcio" stats and face created by pitufin16 (I've just updated the jaw and the hair / beard)
- Created Dario Hubner based on his "PES Miti del Calcio" stats
- Created Fabrizio Ravanelli based on his PES 6 appareance and stats
- Created Mario Balotelli as free agent so that he can be used in the Master League based on his stats and appearance in game J. League Winning Eleven 2008 Club Championship
- Created Martin Palermo as free agent so that he can be used in the Master League based on his stats and appearance in game J. League Winning Eleven 2008 Club Championship
- Used available call names for classic players when possible
- First names added to hidden players
- Baggio and Peruzzi haircuts have been adjusted
- Bebeto signature celebration assigned to him
- Typos fixed for Man City players Vassell and Javier Garrido ; for Blaszczykowski (Poland) ; for Davidovich (Israel)
- Gerardo Vallejo's age fixed (31 instead of 27)
- In "Other League C", create the 15 J2 League teams of the 2008 season + the 3 ones that got promoted to J1 League at the end of the 2007 season
For each created Japanese team :
- Kits have been created ;
- Emblem and flag has been created ;
- Technical sponsor has been added to the shirts and shorts ;
- A dedicated stadium has been selected ;
- Fans colors have been set ;
- 23 players have been created based on their stats and settings (growth type, ...) in J. League Winning Eleven 2008 Club Championship, their faces have been created and their age has been adjusted based on the PES 2008 release date and their birthdate ;
- Formations created based on the ones in J. League Winning Eleven 2008 Club Championship ;
- Players numbers assigned based on the ones in J. League Winning Eleven 2008 Club Championship.
Classic teams kits :
- England : Euro 96 : kit 1, GK 1 +World Cup 98 : kit 2, GK 2
- France : Euro 84 : kit 1, GK 1, GK 2 + World Cup 86 : kit 2
- Germany : World Cup 86
- Italy : Euro 2000
- Netherlands : Euro 1988 : kit 1, GK1, GK2 + World Cup 90 : kit 2
- Argentina : World Cup 86 : kit 1, kit 2, GK 1 + 85 : GK 2
- Brazil : World Cup 98
--> download link for European French and German + English and Spanish releases (each with PES shop locked or unlocked)
I've also generated a PSP version of my OF. /!\ the PSP version is still 2.1, I've not generated the latest one yet.
--> download link for PSP (with PES shop locked)
I hope you'll enjoy this OF !
Happy PES gaming !
