I have deleted dozens of unused balls and statiums, but there is only one problem. The deleted balls are still in the game but plain white, it seems i have to edit the map.txt file, but that would take ages, thoes anyone know how i can clean up the map.txt file for balls?

Your using default master league players there mate, ofcourse all the players from the opposition are stronger than yours. Do what i do: play your first games with likes of Brazil, Barcelona, AC Milan ect. the get a better feel of the game.

Try it in 'Safe Mode', if you can enter the cd without problem then your Windows installation has problems whit securom.
