There's no double speed anymore I'm afraid. I did the same as you to grid through those boring games. There is an option in the pause menu to increase/decrease the speed of play, but I don't think that changed the speed of the clock.

Mid March? Wow, thats definitely not what I expected. The way they don't even put an apology or anything of the sort (as if mid march is completely normal for an update of January transfers) is also poor.
