Hey, this aint a Fifa2005 xbox live tournament thread!! LOL

Mike69, It isnt about growing up and appreciating both. If a person doesnt wanna give Fifa the time of day cos they feel pro is the far superior game, then thats there right. It may well be the best Fifa ever made, but I can't see myself playing it as long as I would be playin pro. I've had no loyalty either, used to play Fifa, up until 99. But to me, FIfa, just has this unnatural feelinng. it has been the same with every version ever made, its just from the start there was no alternative, We never knew what it was like to play a far better game. From Iss98, it was all bout Konami footie games. If that changes in the future then so be it. For now, I'm not gonna bother with Fifa, just a rental like I said. I shall be playing Pro4 and loving it.

i can see where your coming from m8, the reason i play fifa is because of the licenses and the fact it looks so good pretty much in all areas, but it also has decent gameplay, if fifa had absolute crap gameplay then i wouldn't buy it, but it looks excellent and plays good but pes looks okish and plays excellent, lol someone as a joke e-mail konami and ask them about a partnership with EA :D

I hate it when people keep knocking the Pro Evo visuals. I honestly think (and i'm not being biased) that PES graphics are the best around. Yes, FIFA is brighter and presented better but PES4 is looking far more realistic and atmospheric than other football game about.

I agree. It may be so on the PS1 and early on with Pes1 on the PS2 but Pes3 took Pes graphics to a new level.

Seriously, you look at PES graphics and Fifa's graphics and compare them side by side. Pes looks better. The bodies are more proportionate (not big headed)and the level of details are better in the faces. Stadiums looks as close to real life as it can possibly get, with sun flares and all....

And dont talk about animations. Winning Eleven 8 had great animations except for maybe shooting. The animations for PES imo has always been better than Fifa's. The liitle touches of the players keeping their eyes on the ball and looking up before crossing were great. Fifa did not have them. I looked at Fifa 05 screens and John Terry's looking straight ahead as he slide in for a tackle, despite the ball being right beside him.

But its not just the little touches. The basic animations are great as well. Fuctional and nice to look at too....

I think in terms of sounds, thats where Fifa has the upper hand. PES crowd sounds are crap but thats a different topic...

I'd just like to comment on the fact that Fifa 2005 aint lookin to bad.

At first i was thinkin that it was just gunna be another update with new kits and transfer updates but reading that review from someone who has played it has just about persuaded me into giving serious thought into buying it.

I'd try it out first Blount_123 by renting it, I was still disappointed with the game to be honest. Yes its a fun game, but thats about all imo. Depends what sort of game you like I guess, a pick-up and play game where you can score spectacular goals all the time - then go for Fifa 2005. Or a more realistic type of game, gameplay wise - then go for PES4.

BTW here's 2 pics for you to compare. Honestly Rooney looks like something out of Beetlejuice in Fifa:

Rooney in PES4 on PS2:

Rooney in Fifa 2005 on XBOX:

FIFA sucks!!! You can score only 3 or 4 different goals. It is just stupid. The passing and the shooting are to easy, and there is no driblling. PES rulzzzz!!! The best game of the year. :D ;)

i see where you are coming frm and thats all fine and dandy but bashing a game you havent played is just wrong. i wasnt addressing everyone in this thread just the folks that pop up to say FIFA sucks without an explanation or because they hated FIFA 99 and havent played it since

i played Fifa 2005 at my local games station store. i have 2 say its better than last years by a long way, however the menu screens seem 2 be the same. Another downfall is that you can only seem to score from certain positions, and with only 3 or 4 types of shots which is very unrealistic. Also players dont feel free to move, hard to dodge other players or dribble, there is also a HUGE delay between pressing the buttons nd the players actually doing the command. Likenesses seem to b ok, but damien duff has brown hair??? and ronaldo is very very good, alongside drogba who i scored 4 goals with in 20 minutes.the store manager said that nearly all pes fans he knows who have played fifa 2005 think fifa is better.i still think that pes will have the edge

I get a feeling that PES4 will seem like a slightly tweeked update of PES3 with a few added special moves & whatnot.
... a bit like wheeling out last years' Christmas tree & adding a small but shiny new piece of tinsel.

Hmm what I would like someone to do is get a a full modeled picture of someone in PES4 and then the same person in Fifa 2005 which are on either side of the real person in the middle...
I think it would be good to see which meets the real picture best..

try and get a better angle for the screeny, the one in fifa is at the side so u can't see his face as well, graohics wise fifa looks smoother, omg just reading the review and it seems like they have lower league stadiums, even southend united lol :D

Yeah sorry about the angle, but that was the only one I could find...Just look at the pitch, the PES4 pitch looks so much more realistic if you compare it to the real pitch down the bottom...
