My player passed the ball in the opposite direction to where I aimed
I read this statement too many times on forums and too be honest, I thought they are right..... Well, that was before.
The thing about passing(normal pass) is that when you aim on a direction and you press the "pass button" then it will pass to where you aim it.
I'm talking about 1-bar passing since this is the one I'm using. So if the ball went to a different/opposite direction of where you aimed it, chances are that your
left stick is really aimed at the direction where the ball went.
Tips:
To make your passes more consistent,
make sure you aim/point your Left Stick to your intended direction until the ball left the passer. I've done this since a couple of days ago and my passing improved a lot.
When you do the above and ball went to a different direction, check your analog stick and guess what, most likely, your analog stick is pointed to the direction where the ball went.
Aiming with analog stick takes practice. It's not because you thought you aimed there means that your analog stick is really aimed there. I know this because I just switched from keyboard to an xbox controller(and 3-bar to 1-bar passing) a couple of weeks ago. Up to now, I'm still making mistakes aiming analog stick to the direction that I intended to, especially on pressured moments. The last PES I played regularly is PES6 and I never used a gamepad with PES6 once.
Also, making your passer face the direction your passing to, makes the pass more accurate. So if the passer is facing right and you pass the ball to the left, don't expect it to be accurate.
Also, there's a difference in "normal pass" in "through pass".
In normal pass, if the direction of your analog stick is pointing directly to a teammate(or the angle is within range of that teammate), then the ball will go directly to the feet of that teammate. On the other hand, if the direction of your analog stick is not pointing directly on a teammate(and direction is not within the range of a teammate), the ball will go to a space.
On through pass, your always aiming on a space and not a player. The challenge is to aim it correctly and to apply the correct power. Otherwise, the ball will be caught by the opponent or the pass will be too strong/fast or weak.
I hope this helps!
I noticed often I cant pass the ball to my target teammate, the direction (L) is right, the passing power is right, but the ball falls into opposition's feet or the ball goes to my other teammate who i dont want to pass to
Make sure you analog stick is aimed properly. It's not because you thought you aimed there means that your analog stick is not pointing to a different direction. Aiming properly needs practice.
A lot of times when passing to my teammate, there is always a opponent AI standing in the way and u can pass the ball to nowhere else but to AI, its just horrorble.
Pass to a different teammate. Why will you pass the ball to a direction where there is an opponent standing. Of course, the AI will intercept it.
If the the opponent is near the passer but still between you and a teammate that you wanted to pass to, you can still pass the ball to that teammate if you really wanted to. Sometimes the ball will pass between the legs of the opponent, sometimes it is intercepted. Just like in real football.
And you can dribble the ball to before passing to create a clear space between you and a teammate.
If my teammate who i want to pass to standing between myself and another player, i just pass the ball to that another player in stead of my intended target teammate who stands in between, what the hell?
If two teammates is in the same direction you are passing to,
the ball goes to further teammate if you press the pass button longer.
