Thanks! which would be the best way to put these settings to make me play bad and concede more chances?fin186 said:Hello there, Im new to this thread but ive been a diehard pes fan since the days of iss international soccer. Im glad to see people in here who take as much an interest in the tactics and formations in this game as I do. I noticed pro PIMP was wondering about the team strategy and what the letters stood for, im sure this has probably been covered already but here:
Back Line: This is how far up the field your defensive line will push up
C- They will stay deep, depending on other factors ie their defence levels and where the ball is this can be from the edge of their box to about 40 yards out. This is the setting to use against teams with pacey forwards, or counter attack oriented teams.
B- The back line will push up about 10 yards further but unless they have attacking arrows or low defence will not usually make much of an effort to get involved with your teams attacks, ie full backs wont overlap your side midfielders.
A- The defence will push right up to the half way line and sometimes the full backs will go even further to offer attacking options. This makes the defence susceptable to counter attacks and long balls over the top. A team like Man U play like this with Neville and Heinze pushing forward to the wings. Also they have pacey cb's in Ferdinand and Silvestre which makes it hard to break away against them.
Zone Press: This is how much the midfield in particular will close down and harrass the attacking opposition.
C- Will stand off the opposition and leave the closing down mainly to the player. Depending on the defensive levels, will wait until the opposition is so far up the field before doing it automatically.
B- Will press the opposition but not to the extent that it could leave massive gaps between the defence and midfield.
A- Use this when you are trailing a match or if your opposition's midfield seems to have a lot of time and space to pick out passes that are hurting you. Your team will press the opposition even in their own half of the field. But this can leave a lot of space to exploit behind the midfield.
Offside Trap:
Kind of self explainatory. This is how the defence will deal with players who play 'on the last man'.
C- Will drop back goal side to prevent the player having an easy path to goal.
B- Will occasionally try the offside trap if a player wanders behind the d-line.
A- Will push up the field to catch players offside who werent offside before.
Counter Attack:
This is how a team's attacking players position themselves when the opposition have the ball. This Co-incides with zone press as a player may move back to close down the opposition.
C- Attacking players will prioritize defending and back into a position to help the midfield and defence.
B- Will keep within reasonable passing distance to the midfield so its easier to build up passing plays from the back to front.
A- The attacking players will stay as high up the pitch as possible. A couple of good passes from the back after an opposing attack and there will be a lot of room to exploit. This works particularly well with one target man and one pacey forward, ie. inter with Adriano and Martins.
