Giggsy11 said:Yeah but 'PES' means nothing to some ppl...everyone knows what FIFA represents.
hitmanuk2k said:im fairly sure most people couldnt tell you the exact meaning of fifa though... infact, id say its more likely that people know the meaning of PES as opposed to the meaning of FIFA.

ericcantona said:pes is a cool name, its pes, if you say pes people say 'the best football game ever'. And if they don't know what pes means talk to them about something else, I mean you can't chat up birds talking about pes it doesn't work(I've tried.)
You can't change the name anyway, I'm gettin a tattoo of a heart and PES next week, with a silouhette of pierluigi Collina underneath.

I am firmly of the opinion, that if Konami are serious about competing with EA Sports, they need a new name for this series of games. It's a right mouthful at the best of times! It's too long and cumbersome and, when abbreviated to PES 1, 2 or 3, only the initiated know what you're on about! Mind you, Winning Eleven ain't exactly catchy either!
No wonder most kids choose FIFA! Such a shame....![]()

Goal was Kick Off 3.
I like the name 'PES'.
One syllable, no messing.
