Are Liverpool & Manchester Utd The Licensed Teams On Pes09??

Then they should as least have the best gameplay ever, if they have less licenses and dont concentrate on it

You're right, they should, but Konami have evidently become incredibly lazy the last couple of years. Call it complacency if you want, either way, PES is heading in a downward spiral. PES 2009 is make or break.

PES's gameplay is still above FIFA's definetely, as FIFA still can't understand ball physics and player's body proportions. However, FIFA will soon catch up if Konami don't get their head out of their arses.

Completely agree.. ever since they established a good game in PES -Konami- have been incredibly lazy and careless, they have barely made any changes since 2004.

That said, saying that PES 2009 will "make or break" the game is a little harsh -because- even if PES09 sucks.. Seabass and his Team can then take 2 or 3 years in order to release a truly revolutionary game by 2011.

On the other hand, if EA continues polishing a turd (wich is what Konami and EA are currently doing with PES and FIFA) throughout the coming years -and- Konami puts 2 or 3 years of effort into only ONE game -and- then, out of nowhere Konami releases an incredible PES.. then FIFA would be the one in a bad situation.

So anyways, I think that Next Gen games are just getting started -and- it is too early to start making or breaking games. That said, I hope they release a revolutionary game sooner -rather- than later.

Dont fix it if it aint broke

Fuck that attitude.. that is why we are still playing the same game after 5 YEARS.

Anyways, I don't really care -because- I have already made up my mind to completely ignore Football Sims -until- I see one that looks promising. PES09 and FIFA09 are definitely NOT promising. And I'm prepared to wait until 2011 if I have to.

So, don't fix it if it ain't broke.. I don't care -because- I won't be wasting ca$h (nor Time) on an unfixed game.

How can you call yourself a pes fan atall if your willing to wait till 2011? People hate pes 2008 and are getting annoyed but jesus, not getting the game is way too far. Pes is the only game ever release for me that i will get no matter what i see. Its just a given that you buy pes. Every real pes fan will agree and i cant still get over how bad people thought pes 2008 was. It wasnt great and took stuff out of pes 6 but it was still a good enough game to play solidly for a month or 2 and then on and off after that.

PES08 was a waste of Time and Money, I have nothing else to say about it.

And if PES09 is going to be as arcadey as PES08 -then- I prefer to wait on for another year -rather- than try to like an embarrassing excuse of a game.

Anyways, if PES09 is bad -then- I will no doubt play PES6 every now and then. But I'm pretty sure I won't be buying PES08 for a 2nd time.

And as for being a PES Fan?? I don't think of myself as a PES Fan.. I'm just a customer who will buy the best Football Sim around. In the PS2, the best Football Sim was Konami's PES. One of the few video game series that I can play time and time again.

That said, I do have sympathy towards Konami and PES -but- not enough to keep buying the same shit year after year.

The PES series is seriously OUTDATED, it needs a complete Overhaul, it needs to be significantly UPDATED.. fans are paying good money for a Next Gen Football Sim -and- Konami should deliver. It's that simple.

Bottom Line here is that fans are buying the series year after year -and- every year, the fans always ask for improvements -and- every year Konami ends up releasing a touched-up version of the previous installment.

Maybe that works for some time, maybe the "don't fix it if it ain't broke" attitude works for some time -but- certainly after 5 years it gets Old. I just think that buying the same game for the 5th consecutive year is a bit foolish.

And when it's all said and done, the PS3 (360) versions of PES should be twice as good as the PS2 versions. So until now the question remains, Why where the PS2 versions better than PES08?? Maybe it was a rushed effort from Konami.. But they are out of excuses for PES 2009.

This man talks sense!

I enjoy his cynical approach. Dont settle for PES2008!

I not picking on you or anthing its just that this made me wonder. Wouldn't you want fifa to "catch up" to konami as fast as possible in gameplay terms? I don't know why some people say fail to Fifa and come on Konami. It would be so much easier if fifa improved gameplay then Konami getting lisenced teams. PES fans will just keep dreaming.

It doesn't matter who is licensed, as we've seen from the Seabass interview the edit is gonna b pretty special.

as i liverpool fan im gutted that Liverpool are gonna be a licensed team but without the Carlsberg sponsor. Especially since it looks like the edit mode will allow for old-school editing which will give almost perfect kits for unlicensed teams anyway!

Making matters worse is that i think our new Silver/Grey away kit is class and brings back memories of our last league title (all those years ago!) so im not happy that it won't look that great without the sponsor on it! Lets hope theres an option to edit licensed kits aswell!

I really hope that the licensed teams have 2 goalkeeper kits this time. I would annoy me on PES 2008 when Spain would have a white away kit and a white goallie kit.

I agree though the Liverpool, Celtic, Rangers kits look rubbish without the sponsor. However, Fifa09 has the same problem with betting companies from what i've heard so Real and Ac won't have a sponsor

I honestly don't think the kits look "that" bad without the sponsors, we all knew that sponsors like Carlsberg, Carling, 888.com etc wouldn't be included. It's always been that way, and you can barely notice the sponsor in detail anyway from the usual camera view. Although in saying that, I do think you should be allowed to edit licensed kits, but I guess it maybe less hassle for Konami just to set them to uneditable ?

It's the same in real-life at grass roots level I think. I've watched a few matches at Under 10's age group or whatever it may be (no homo) and a team were once wearing the Middlesbrough kit, but the 888.com sponsor wasn't there. Not sure whether the actual clubs themselves even sell their kits with such sponsors on in the "kids" category.

There was a new law bought in recently in this country that says that football clubs can not sell a replica shirt with an Alcohol or Gambling company logo to anyone under the age of 18.

This is because the clubs have realised that footballers are role models for children and teenagers and seeing logos from companies such as 888.com or Carlsberg on a child's or teenager's shirt effectively promotes those products to underaged people.

That's why you don't see these logos on children's replica football club shirts.

Plain and boring 'cos it doesn't have carlsberg on it? I'd rather see a kit without a sponsor anyday. I agree it should look like the real kit but come on, who gives a shit about sponsors on shirts?

I agree with this in a way. Look at West Brom's kit this season, no sponsors on it at the minute and it looks way better than any other kit in the league. Being a Newcastle fan I now buy the old 80's kits rather than the new ones as they have no sponsor and look miles better.

And why are video games not allowed to put them on in the first place?

They are on the real kits, on boards around the ground, and even the mini replica kits they sell to three year olds have them on. Seems pretty pointless! How many 6 year olds playing pro evo or fifa are going to become heavy drinkers because they say carlsberg on the liverpool shirt!?

That's stupid having Liverpool as a licensed team then if we can't have Carlsberg on our shirt.
No point in us being licensed.
