hm, I got exactly the same result as Jasperinho - from <1472 on I get a "request timed out" message...

You can try this alternative URL though - it worked for me...
ping www.qsc.de -f -l 1492

Yep! The QSC URL worked for me. I did type in 1472 and not 1492 like in your message, but seems indeed the first value that works for me without packet loss.

Another quick update: I changed the MTU settings on my PS3, based on SLAT3's instructions, and played two matches without losing the connection. So this may indeed be the solution

I did have some teleporting players in one of the matches, but I am hoping that this was because of the bad quality of the Internet connection of my opponent.

Same here again Jasperinho . Switched it to 1472 and haven't had an error message since.

Usually the connections are good now (although more yellow than green for everybody) but I do get some teleporting or what i call "players getting mad cow disease", i.e. I have the ball, suddenly my player gets all floaty and I cannot control him anymore, no controlled movement, no passing, not even a clearance - just nothing - then the ball just rolls away, usually easy for the opponent to pick up. I conceded 2 goals in ET in a 2v2 match last night like this and it is incredibly annoying.

Previously, my connection always showed up as a green connection, but since the MTU settings update, it appears as a green or yellow connection.

I hope that the teleporting is not related to the MTU settings update, as that would mean that I solved the issue by creating another one

I must say that until now I am very pleased with PES 2009 on the PS3. There's definitely space for improvement for the online play, but I think that the game play, the grafics, the editing capabilities and the superb addition of BAL are reasons enough to enjoy another year of PES'ing

Sorry for the really late reply ( Left the country ) but your mtu is different based on your isp or computer network settings you are going to have to find your own settings .
