Basic Patching Guide for WE9 [PS2]

If i have Alcohol 120%, Do i need DVD decrypter as it states on the first post - i am presuming this program(dvd decrypter) is only needed for burning the image file and creating the original image of WE9, which Alcohol 120% does anyway.

Using Alcohol to make the image will give you a MDF+MDS file. When patching, it is normal to apply the patch to either the ISO file or the bin file so I haven't ever tried applying the patch to the image you get using Alcohol. If you want to try it, go ahead and then let us know how it goes. The worst that could happen is that it doesn't work and you wasted a disk.

Hey all - I got it in the post this morning played it a bit after guessing what buttons to press lol. Then I thought I'd give this patching a go. I half-expected it not to work really.

I did everything it said, and then had doubts of it working when the patch application took all of around 2 seconds, and then the burning to DVD which followed took me 9:13 with Alcohol.

Anyway I did it, put it in my PS2 and it loaded up then went to a black screen for about 2-3 seconds so i just presumed it wasn't going to work but then the sponsors came up and it worked!

I've got to say fernando's patch is amazing for such an early release.

Was just wondering: When will a patch be released whereby kits, club flags and commenary will be fixed?

Also, if this patch is released - Do i have to make a clean image of the original or can I apply it to my pre-patched image which I did this morning?

Glad it worked. What speed did you burn it at? Try to burn as slow as possible, 1x or 2x are best.

Always use a clean image for a new patch.

No news on a big patch yet as the game is encrypted and tools need to be made. Get an updated option file to update the kits. Edit mode kits look almost as good as patched kits in WE9.

I burnt it at 2.4x because that's the lowest it could go from the drop-down menu.

Just had a few games and it's a really good game as well

Yes.
WE9 is only available on PS2. Did you even read the guide? How many times does it mention PS2 in there?

sorry for my ignorance but can i play fernando's we9 english patch file on my japanese playstation?? or do i have to chip my american playstation.. i just received my japanese we9 yesterday and i've played it, but i don't understand shit! i have yet to burn iso file because i need to buy dvd-r disc.. but can anyone reply quick and give me the answer..

ps.. i also have a max drive.. will this help if i can't play it on the japanese playstation?

Hi. You need a chipped or modded PS2 to play any patched game. It will not work on any unmodded PS2.

A Max Drive is great to help you use updated download option files. It won't help you load the game on your current PS2 any more than your PC floppy disk drive will.

Don't know. Never seen that message. Might be something you need to adjust on the settings for your drive?
Try burning with Alcohol or Nero.

I patched the ISO file with Fernando's V4, but when I try to burn the DVD with Nero and Alcohol 120% the minimum writing speed I can choose is 6x, with DVD Decrypter I can choose 1x or 2x but when it's writing it shows 6x, my DVD burner is Sony DRU-800A, please can someone help me? Because when I put the DVD on the PS2, I have the Playstation2 appearing in the screen, after that, nothing, just a black screen...

Minimum burning speed depends on both your dvd writer and the disks you are using. One of them must have a min speed of 6x. You have to buy special DVD-R/DVD+R disks to make sure they have a slower minimum speed.

The box of your drive should say the min+max speed for burning both dvds and cds.
