BioShock [PC/360]

Finally completed this after taking a long break of around four months. Glad I came back to it though. The story was good though doesn't leave scope for a sequel in my eyes. Perhaps Take Two will decide on a prequel?

I'd prefer a prequel and/or (another) prequel on the villain's perspective, that is, you playing as Atlas.

That would be ace but unlikely for they want money and this may very well help in the reduction of sales because most people are more like, "I wanna be the hero!!!1!".

BELIEVE
Just thought I'd revive this thread after reading through it, seems a few people were disappointed with BioShock on here which surprises me. I've been contemplating starting the game again recently, just the whole atmosphere of BioShock was amazing. Arguably my favourite game of all time. I was never a big FPS player, and thought I'd give BioShock a go, and in a sense the game was absolutely perfect. The trailers were bang on, the demo was quality and the game itself was second to none. I've never, ever been so enthralled in a game, the city of Rapture was in my opinion the best environment ever created for a game, and that includes all the GTA series etc.

PS: Regarding BioShock 2, I've heard that it will be a game based on 'how' the city of Rapture became so chaotic and what lead it to becoming absolute mayhem. It seems like they're taking their time with BioShock 2 as well, always a good thing.

Got into this game for a while, then just lost interest. Not sure why.

Exactly the same here. Can't remember why I stopped playing, and then didn't go back to it because I had forgotten how the story was going and didn't feel like starting it from the beggining

I am looking to either rent or buy this game. Does this game have any replay value and how long is the campaign?

It is rated at 15-20 hours of gameplay though it depends on your style of play.

It has some replay value though I made a conscious decision not to replay it once I'd finished it.

Just played through the demo on the PS3. I'd like to get the full game but I feel I may wait for a price drop, I've gone long enough without playing it so I can wait for January.

Brilliant game from what I played, really love the setting and the feel of it. All very eary.

Go for it Migg'! Excellent game. I really enjoyed myself playing. I think I may give it a second go some time.

I'm going to head into the high street after work to get some DVDs, but if I can find a good price on Bio Shock, I'll get it. It looks like a wonderful game, but I usually wait for prices of non-PES games to go down before purchasing them.

Yeah, from what I played it seems a brilliant game. I played it in the dark and i really added something to the atmosphere.
I wont be shelling out full price for it because I don't think it'll have that much replay value in the long run. I can wait but I look forward to playing the full game.

I don't usually like games that are mainly based in the dark (videos seem to indicate this). If I do play them, I usually increase the brightness and contrast. These kind of games can get me shitting sweetcorn.

Same here. Atmosphere is fantastic but shitting myself isn't.

I personally didn't think it was that scary (PS3 demo) but it was very atmospheric and plays very well. I really enjoyed it.

I've started playing this again as I haven't completed it. Loving it but the Big Daddies are a bugger.

Apparently there's a prequel in the works? It will take place in the "civilized" Rapture before everything went AWOL.

Good new that (prequel), but I still maintain that I'd like to play as "Atlas".

I harvested the little girls at first, then like Barry, I started freeing them. Doing that leads to quite a few goodies from Tenembaum. I also didn't feel "guilty".

Yes, that's the second game of the planned trilogy. Was announced not long after the release of the first game.

To be fair, I think they're going to ruin the series by making it a trilogy, especially as I don't see how, without wrecking the storyline in Prison Break fashion, they can make a third which will surely be some way into the future - even though you've killed everything except the Little Sisters and nobody is travelling to Rapture anymore.

I wasn't pleased by the fact I harvested a few girls at the start, then freed the vast majority of them and still got the same ending I'd have gotten had I harvested every single one of them. It didn't add up.

Me too. Which is why I think I'll start playing it again on Friday night. ;)

On which difficulty did you guys play it?

I took one of my old save files. I'm playing the Fort Frolic chapter. Last night I played a bit in the dark, fuck that big daddy is annoying on hard. Nevertheless I'm still liking it. I'll get back to playing later.
