Right, Ive now got a link index in the first post to all the players, so hopefully its easier to navigate around the thread now.

One problem. When I edit the first post, I have the option to 'go advanced', so I can change text colours and insert links and stuff. When I edit any of my other posts I do not have the option to 'go advanced'. Any help or advice?

*Tactical tribble, passing, 1-1 scoring

Right thats Eidur. He is not only a good striker, but he has is a great footballing mind and awareness on the pitch.

First thing to point out about Eidur is he has declinded somewhat athletically, probably due to being left on the bench a lot, and not getting the same first team football he did 3 or 4 seasons ago. Firstly he has got a bit slower. A couple of seasons ago I would have given him about 84 for top speed, but he just isnt that fast now. Bit slower acceleration than what he once use to have aswell, so a 76 is just right for that. His leap also isnt as good now, He has gone from a very good athletic leap (say 83), to just good leap of 73. Still very strong though with an 85 in balance so his hold up play is as god as ever. With the tactical dribble star aswell, he can keep the ball well and look for a player to inrtoduce to the move. This is also aided by the fact he is great on the ball with dribble accuracy of 85.

Upon transition into a new midfield role for Chelsea, Eidur has displayed a lot more of the qualities which make him a great footballer. But lets start by saying what he has always been good at, his shooting. He is a very accurate shooter, especially in the box, although I dont think we have seen the best of him this season. Good power and technique aswell. Eidur is great at little chip shots, so with a rating of 84 for shot technique he can now make those kinds of shots with the same kind of precision he does in real life. Great in one on one situations aswell. (We will ignore his attempt against Betis!) Look at his goals against Bolton this season, Charlton and Manchester United away last season. The 1-1 scoring special star gives him that extra bit of proficiency infront of the goal.

Since adopting the said midfield role, Eidur has demonstrated his great passing game. Great awareness and fantastic vision mean Eidur can pick out passes a lot of other players wouldnt see. He is also great at playing nice looping lofted balls over the defence for wingers to run onto. An 83 in short and long pass accuracy mean he is very accurate along the floor and in the air, and the passing star helps him pick out those tricky passes. Just look at his pass for Robben's goal this season against Portsmouth, Robbens goal last season against Everton. Fantastic response aswell means he is aware of sudden changes on the pitch, like a wingers movement, a defenders change in positioning. Very high teamwork of 90 mean he is great at building team moves and playing the ball out.

Final point just want to make is general technique. Great first touch help him a lot when he is playing in a congested midfield and often give him the advantage that his pace does not. Pretty competent eith both feet aswell, he isnt afraid to hit the ball with his left foot, although it definitaly isnt as strong as his right.

Hey everyone. Just so people know, I am hard at work on a bunch of stats at the moment, Luis Garcia, Riquelme, Lee Bowyer, and many more, so people can expect a steady stream of posts over the next couple of days. Going to try and improve some of the posts asthetically now, so expect to see pictures, coloured stats, and stuff like that.

Was also wondering if I could get some more feedback on the more recent posts, e.g Mark Viduka/Jason Roberts, Gudjohnsen. If any body has any comments please post them up.

California Clown - thankyou very much mate, especially from an editor as great as you. You have done some terrific work, and your Ghana thread over on Pesfan.com is great! Keep up the good work over there!

Neocroghan - no worries mate, will check your thread to see how you are doing.

Right everyone, have started to make my posts look a little nicer. Check out players on the first three pages. Ive changed some of the text, so there is a contrast between bold type and normal, included pictures of players and boots they wear, and changed stat colours to yellow, orange and red to correspond with what they are in game.

Let me know what you think

Yeah good work on the thread mate, not that it needs any glorifying!!

Haven't had time to use your updates on Crouch and Gudjohnsen but look forward to doing so, I'll let you know how you've done.

Any more thought on those Prem midfielders I suggested?

Absolutely no problems Bluescouse with you anything you would like from this thread. This applies to everyone. The whole point of this thread is to help people and provide information, so people are free to include it in option files, posts etc. The only thing I ask is that you credit the people whom it rightfully belongs to.

So anyway feel free to use it Bluescouse hopefully it will add to an already excellent option file!

*Centre, Marking, Sliding Tackle, Covering

Probably the best defensive midfielder in the world along with M. Diarra, Claude Makelele is in my opinion one of the three most important figures in the Chelsea line-up, and pivotal to their success. When he doesnt play, Chelsea look a bit more fragile in midfield, even when he is replaced with a great box-box midfielder like Michael Essien. That says just how good Claude is at his job.

First thing to mention about Claude Makelele is that he has excellent stamina, and when you look at how old he is its quite frankly unbelievable. Undoubtley one of the most disciplined footballers when it comes to looking after his body, Claude definitely not look in his thirties when he plays. So two very important values for Claude are going to be his stamina and mentality ones. 93 and 90 respectively are two very high ratings which reflect Claude perfectly.

In keeping his body in excellent condition Claude has also maintained his great athletic qualities, especially his leap. Claude has an excellent jumping capabilty which allows him to play in amongst the tall midfielders you often find now-a-days. In the Liverpool matches this season Claude was beating Peter Crouch in the air, and when you consider Peter is over 20cm taller, that is some feat! So a very high value of 90 for jump enables Claude to emulate the athletic leap he has in real life, ingame. A solid 75 heading stat means Claude is quite comfortable passing the ball with his head. Another great attribute he has managed to maintain to a high extent is his pace. He is SLIGHTLY slower than what he once was, particularly on the ball, but this by no means means he is slow. Top speed and acceleration values of 82 show the pace he has, and a 79 in dribble speed demonstrates how he is that little bit slower.

Now lets analyse the features which make him such a great defensive midfielder, which is such a difficult position to play effectively. When Claude plays he really does show up players like Alan Smith and Michael Carrick, who are both good players but no where near as good as Claude. So first up, his response value. Playing in the holding role, means you need to be very aware as you have to consider the space all around you, and also the players positioning. You have to able to make quick decisions and be very adept at noticing small changes in the game. Claude is fantastic at this and this ests him apart from other defensive midfielders. A response of 91 ingame shows that he thinks extremely quickly and very, very rarely gets caught on the ball. It also helps to demonstrate how well he responds to his OWN team mates positioning, and combined with the covering star, enables him to plug gaps quickly. His passing is also very good. Both 85 for short pass accuracy and speed show that he is great at accurately distributing the ball around him. I havent given him the passing star for one simple reason. This star only affects passing around the penalty area. If one player has the passing star and one does not, then when they are passing in their own half it has no effect. Claude very rarely ventures that far up the pitch, so it would be unrealistic to give him the passing star. The playmaking star effects passing all over the pitch, so why not give himn that? Because it encourages players to look for that cutting through ball, and increases their profficiency at it. That certainly isnt what we want. The answer is the team work stat which is particularly important for Claude. He has a very high rating of 95, so this has a direct influence on the qaulity of passes and makes his passing moves more fluid. The final point to make is his consisitency and aggression values. Claude is consistency personified, and it is important in the defensive midfield position as mistakes can be crucial. This is a feature players like Carrick still need to develop in their game, and one which gives Claude an advantage. The final key part is his aggression stat. The most disciplined defensive midfielder, he needs a low aggression stat, to encourage him to sit back and as the name of the position implies 'hold'. 57 means that Claude always has the urge to sit back and cover up the holes, which in real life is one of his best qualities.

Thank you both very much Moose24 and Matio.

Right have finished updating the posts for all players, so all have pretty pictures and colours now! :) Have also merged Adriano appearance and stats back into one post, so the link on the first page will give you it all now.

Will shortly post up an improved Peter Crouch face.

Great work on Lampard and Gerrard. If you have time, could you post up Ashton, Etherington and Nigel Reo-Coker. I'd really appreciate it if you at least do one.
