Right sorry everyone for not getting my last post up this evening. I just dont want to rush the post with the consequence that the accuracy isnt as good as it could be, just for the sake of getting it up this evening. So heres what you can expect tomorrow morning:

Jason Roberts
vs
Mark Viduka

Battle of the big guys!

A detailed comprison, including both appearances and updated stats.

Right been playing lots of games with Inter checking and testing Adriano.
Before the comparison tomorrow im going to post a set of revised stats for him because there are just a few things niggling at me. His passing stats arent QUITE right, and his acceleration is a tad to slow. Team work stat could be revised aswell, its a tiny bit inaccurate. So expect that early tomorrow. Looks like Im paying the price for rushing to get a post up!

*Dribbling, tactical dribble, scoring, post player, middle shooting.

He has had a very hard season. Has had problems with injurys and inconsistency, spending some time on the bench. There is no doubt however that he is full of raw talent. Here are a few points I would like to raise about him.

Athleticism is a key part of Adriano's game. Firstly he has great pace, with both top speed of 89 and acceleration of 90, and a dribble speed of 89, as he truly is as fast with the ball as without. Very good leap with a value of 83. His physical build is incredible. He has extremely well built upper body with a neck like a bison. His strength is therefore naturally extremely immense, and he is probably one of the strongest players in the world. Balance stat of 98 and and the post player special star means he is going to extremely hard to get off the ball, and will be able to ride tackles thrown at him. His pace and strength coupled are an unbelievable combination.

Has a good long pass and if he gets drawn out wide can put good balls back in. Also a competent short passer he can play the ball to his team mates well. I have put his short pass speed up a whole 7 points to 77, just to give them that bit more zip on them.

Shooting is another extremely good part of Adrianos game. Very potent from distance and great in the box, is capable of scoring some great goals. He scored a goal in the confederations cup from about 35 yards that was unbelievable, and has scored some great distance efforts over the last couple seasons for Inter. His raw power is also reflected in his shooting. When he gets hold of a ball, he REALLY gets hold of the ball. Very high accuracy mean he can pick his spot well. In real life he uses his strength to create that extra yard to get the shot in. With a shot technique of 87, and his balance figure he is fantastic at shooting under pressure. Naturally he is also a threat from free kicks, and he is very very good at curling the ball. This season in Seria A, he scored a free kick from about 30 yards that literaly went AROUND the wall. Ingame he has a curling value of 86. Some of you may think 99 for shot power is being a bit drastic. Handing out 95+ is where you have to be very careful, as it represents a truely WORLD CLASS ability in that segment. A 99 is going to mean that they are the best in the game at it. I give very few 99's, but Adriano is one of a select few including Roberto Carlos, Lampard, Beckham. It signifys that they are the BEST in the world at the feature. For me Adriano and Roberto Carlos have the two hardest shots in the world.

Heading is another strong point. Good accuracy and leap mean is always a threat, and with his shot power we get the feeling he is using his incredible neck muscles to generate great power on the ball, just as he does in real life.

But all these great things, dont cover up some big weaknesses. Firstly he is inconsistent, and has had injury problems this year. An B injury rating means if people resort to cynical fouls on him (which they may have to do!), he is that bit more susceptable to picking up knocks.
His biggest weakness though, is he really isnt that great a team player. Defence of 33 is the first represantion, and the second is his relatively low team work rating. A rating of 72 is what you would describe as 'good' in game. Nothing more, nothing less. But it isnt going to make start making that great movement in the box. In real life he doesnt use intelligent movement in the box. He wants the ball played to feet around the penalty box so he can either have a distance effort, or use his strength and pace to burst through the defence and blast it in. Ingame, he wont make those clever runs you see Crespo making, and he wont spin his defender like RVN. To emphasis this he doesnt have a positioning star. He is less inclined to find the space in the box, and its hard to play cutting through balls to him. Just like in real life he likes the ball played into his feet so he can try something special. So basically a team work ability of 72 means he wont make those special moves in the box, but what it does do is make him that bit more adapt at playing and recieving passes, something that when he had the rating of 67, was a bit to poor to be real life reflection.

Ingame, you may not even notice him on the pitch. But when you get the ball to him, his power, pace, and shooting ability mean he can try something that little bit special.

If you want to see some clips of him, go to Yahoo.com, switch the search mode to 'video' and type in Ariano Leito Ribeiro. There is his goal against greece in the confederations cup which is a must see.

So that is Mark Viduka, and Jason Roberts. As you can see there are blanks in some of the goal celebration categories, so if anyone has any information on which ones are needed, could they please get back to me. Here are the points I want to raise before we move on.

Physically, they are both built very strong. Both tall, with Mark 4cm taller, and both built strong. I would say that Jason is slightly stronger than Mark, and there is a 3 point value diffence in game. Naturally this is going to make them both very hard to knock off the ball, and in real life they are both always standing up to defenders. To surmise just how strong Jason is, all you need to look at is his goal at home to Manchester City. He puts Sylvan Distan on the floor, who is one of the strongest centre backs in the premiership. Jason has a better Jump than Mark, although Mark still has good leap with a value of 79. Both have good stamina, but again Jason has SLIGHTLY better stamina than Mark. Jason also has a higher mentality, and this is due to the fact he puts bit more effort into the latter minutes of the game, e.g tracks back a bit more, and carries on running longer longer than mark. You generally find that Mark slacks a little bit in the final stages of game.

Pace is another area in which Jason is better than Mark. A lot faster, both in top speed and acceleration, Jason could beat Mark all day long. Mark has fairly decent top speed and acceleration (70 in both), but ingame his pace isnt realy going to trouble defenders, just like in real life. Jason really is very fast with top speed of 87 so he is going to give defenders a hard time.

The thing which Mark beats Jason in, by quite a bit infact, is his dribbling ACCURACY, and his general technique. Mark has excellent first touch, which is very important when you arent the fastest, whereas Jason's sometimes lets him down. While Mark doesnt trouble defenders with pace, he certainly does with his mazy dribbles. For a man of such size, he is very gifted with great dribbling and good agility. He is a rare kind of 'big' player, kind of like Zlatan Ibrahimovich. Ingame he has a dribbling accuracy of 89, which means he can make lots of adjustments to his dribbles and turn defenders inside out. An unusally high agility for a man of his size (84) again means he can make quick movements around his defenders and give them a hard time. So this raises a big difference in the way these two operate with their dribbling. Jason Roberts is best dribbling ALONGSIDE a defender so he can use his pace and strength to get past, whereas Mark Viduka prefers to operate INFRONT of a defender, where he can use his dribbling accuracy and good agility to create an opening for a shot, or even better plonk a defender on his backside!

Shooting is a good point for both these players, but Mark is better. Jason can get slightly more power out of his shots (they have a difference of 1 point ingame), but Mark has better accuracy and technique. When Mark gets the ball at his feet in the box, he can be very deadly. As I said before he can use his mazy dribbling to create a half yard in the box, even if there are two or three defenders in his way. This warrants a very high shot technique of 89. A great example is his goal against Charlton in the F.A cup this season. Jason isnt so good under pressure in the box, and finds it harder to get a good shot off near defenders. Again Mark is very accurate, often cooly slotting home. Jason still has high accuracy, with value of 80, but Mark is just deadly in the area.

Passing is better for Mark, especially along the floor. For a player of his size he has good sense of weight on his balls, and is accurate too. Jason's passing game isnt the best. He is good at positioning himself to recieve the pass, but when he plays them they are often overhit or underhit, and sometimes inaccurate.

Finally their teamwork ability. Jason has got a slightly higher team work ability of 80, and this is due to his good movement when recieving passes. Tracks back a bit more, and generally participates in team moves well. Mark is also good at this, but not quite as good as Jason, with a value of 77. When he gets the ball he normally looks to go by himself if he can, and this is portrayed by his posession of the dribbling star.

So there you go Mark Viduka and Jason Roberts, hope you enjoy. And dont forget what I mentioned about the goal celebrations.

If anybody has them, please let me know. Cheers.

Come on guys! Its so dead on here. Theres been about 150 new views since I posted Viduka and Roberts review, and not a single reply. I mean I love doing these posts, and I put loads of time into it. It would maybe be nice to have a bit more activity on the thread, thats all

WOW, this is brilliant mate, done Lampard and Gerrad not long ago and so far they're great, looking forward to playing with Rooney aswell.

I know you're really busy but any chance when you're done you could have a go at doing Cesc Fabregas, thanks alot, keep up the good work

M8d41t - thankyou very much sir! Cesc Fabregas is already on a list of request I have, so you can expect him within the near future.

Villene - So sorry havent done Lee Bowyer for you, but as I have said I have been busy recently so all Ive been able to get up are very few requests and most of my own posts. Hopefully with Ferdinand93 onboard now we should be able to move a bit quicker. Consider Bowyer one of my higher prioritys.

Kati_yilan - No these arent fM2006 stats. Personally I feel they are inaccurate, and by useing them we come across the same if not worse problems from Konamis default ones. Dont forget that FM2006 stats were also produced by a group of people who had THOUSANDS of players to do, and so did not have the time to sit down and analyse carefully each stat. Secondly, lots of PES5 stats are very complicated and so if translating FM stats you are most likely to find they dont accomadate for the complicated game mechanics of PRO EVO 5. The stats found in this thread are made by either me or Ferdinand93.

Matio - Peter Crouch was probably going to be my next post anyway, so you can look forward to him. Your right, a lot of people do get him wrong, especially in his arial and technichal abilities.

Arsenal boy - thank you very much. I like to think Im putting something back into a great editing community here at PESinsight, so those are very kind and encouraging words.
