I agree with you Gooner Lover.

He perhaps isnt in the Birmingham City first team on a regular basis but when he does play you can see that he is a good footballer. His passing is still excellent as is his football brain. He brings plenty of experience and I know Steve Bruce is glad to have him as part of the squad.

If he is so rubbish then how come like I said he made 223 appearances for Tottenham and was an England international (about 15 caps) it's much better than any Bristol Rovers player could do, and how can you make your point, were you an England international?

Firstly this is not an appearances contest!
How did he perform on those occasions, I personally cannot remember him getting a bottle of champagne at the end of any match!
He had never been an England regular, and never will be. You can blame this on injuries, but I blame it on the FACT that there are so many better players out there.
Although I did have a long rant, I do not doubt that Darren Anderton is a premiership footballer, but he is not a LEGEND!
e.g. Jamie Redknapp, 17 CAPS!, a liverpool legend - NO. A good premiership footballer - YES

I will not accept the fact that DARREN ANDERTON is a legend. You would not believe the amount of times that I went to the lane to find out that he was missing due to failing a late fitness test. TOTTENHAM is the future because our players are improving weekly and with youngsters coming in such as RETO ZIEGLER and STEPHEN KELLY and with the prospect of playing in Europe next year, we can become a huge threat for winning the Premiership within the nxt 10 yrs. Darren Anderton played for England under Bobby Robson too ! But wasnt Taylor the man that introduced Shearer to the England squad so he might no a little bit about football. His only real failure was at Villa but there I think most people would fail.

no he didnt! venables gave him his debut. anderton was not a bad player for england and had quite a good goal record in an era where shearer scored all our goals. dazza was a good servant to the club, if only he didnt get bloody injured all the time!

How the hell is Mido a legend? He's only scored a couple of goals, Anderton is a legend for Spurs because in the last decade he made 223 appearances, compare it to someone like Roy Keane who made 253 appearances in the last decade for Man U. Does that really suggest the Anderton was a sicknote. Besides Spurs legends include Ardiles, Sheringham, Klinnsman, Jennings and Gascoigne, Anderton is more of a legend than Mido will ever be.

Don't try it! Any argument based on Anderton being better than NUFC players is suicide, you know they're all better! Shay Given could do a better job in Midfield than Dazza Anderton!!!

If you think that Mido will not be a legend for Spurs in the future, then you have obviously never seen him play because otherwise you would now that he will be the top scorer next season and win the UEFA Cup for Spurs, whether they deserve it or not. They might as well sell Kanoute and Keane, because the only strikers they need are Defoe and Mido who will both definately be a Spurs legend in the future.
