I shall not be buying this game now that it has been confirmed by someone else on here that the 2vs2 online option on the XBOX360 will not be included. I find the fact this is on the PS3 and PC a serious piss take!

In my opinion this game is much much better 2vs2 especially last years edition. I think it is transformed a a game and if you can always play 2vs2. On 2011 i found that the most effective tactic/exploit used by most people was to just hold down the One Two button and watch it cut through the other team like a hot knife through button, that and the good ol' get the ball wide then hit long through balls through the middle and watch as the CBs just let the ball go to the striker [or even CB if they have get the One two button held down]. I presume in 2012 it's back to running with the ball, crossing etc.

Anyway by playing 2vs2 this would massively reduce the ability to hold down the one two button down constantly and it also made defending through balls down the middle much easier [if you knew what you were doing that is]. I would presume playing with someone else makes defending against dribbling much easier in 2012 and also the fact when you are playing with someone else you can't just take the piss dirbbling all the time.

Of course offline you can just tell your mate to stop taking the piss using exploits and give him a slap if he persists, one on one online this option isn't there, apart from abusing them down the mic.

BUT playing 2vs2 online, on the same XBOX360 anyway, is no longer an option. So for the first time in over 10 years i will not be playing a nice little game of PES and instead i am now stuck to playing shitty f'ing bloody FIFA.

Thanks a lot Konami !
Thanks

I think through balls have been dealt with immensely in 2012. I would say only the best through balls delivered in the most opportunisitic of circumstances are even possible. One positive pass I have noticed is the through ball to the corner because defenders overlap better than ever before. Of course this through ball is not a one touch shot or breakaway but rather only used to then cross or find someone with a nice pass.

Certainly they will fix 2v2 Xbox won't they? I understand the frustration.

I think the through balls have been freed up so to speak, in other words last year they had a homing missile effect and the power bar flattered to deceive as they were still on the rails somewhat. This year they feel more organic.

This game really needs manual crossing back, despite my addiction to the pes series konami's habit of improving one thing and degrading another is getting tedious to say the least. Maybe the manual crossing system of last year wouldn't sit well with the mechanics of pes 2012 but surely konami could find some balance with the crossing system. I score very few headers but the crossing is very dumbed down.

Agreed

If they don't fix it even in a months time we are all entitled refunds because they wrongly claim on the back of the game that you CAN play 2v2 Online when you can't.

Absolute p!ss take if you ask me. Only thing we can all do - is tweet jon murphy and email konami - PS3 & PC owners show some solidarity with us and help us REAL PES fans get the game we love fixed. End of the day PES' motto is "Playing with Friends is what PES is all about"

Konami don't care about 360 users.
If they did how could they release a game with a run bug, dire keepers a and now no more 2v2.

Interesting fact. Fifa12 sells more on the PS2 than pes12 does on 360.

Pes is a PS1 & 2 game. Konami even admit to not liking the PS3.

They haven't moved with the times.

i think in pes2012 you dont have to be a skillful player to score, its so fast its more luck with hit an run goals, however in pes2011 you needed alot of skill and were rewarded for outwitting the opponent with crisp 1 twos to slice thru the defence and score with skill....

That's a fair statement. But I think it's only lobs and dribbling round the keeper that's really easier. Straight shots I actually think are harder but that might just be me.

However I don't think the dribbling was more realistic in 2011. I think that once people get used to defending it won't seem to be so easy for people to run through you

After playing pes 2012 quite a lot recently playing pes 2011 the shooting feels so good just because pes 2012 shooting is so bad.
Defending is a lot easier in pes 2011 i agree, but it's a lot more realistic.
Offline it's the superior game but online i'd rather play pes where more of a football brain is needed.Having a football brain and trying to play football in pes 2012 is nearly always going to fail when you face the runners.

I don't have much problems with the shooting to be honest. I find it to be a merry mix between success, failures and everything in between. And that's pretty much how it is in real life as well.

You're right about the runners, but I think that's more because of the lack of proper positioning by the (friendly) AI than anything else (wide open spaces in the midfield, and complete lack of defensive structure). And it's actually better in the 1.0 version of the game. Personally I don't like online much. Without trying to sound cocky, I win so easily in 95% of the matches I play so I've given up looking for fun in that part of the game. When I do meet an equal or better player than me the matches are fun, but they're too few and far between so I don't really bother anymore.

I swear to exhibition matches and two player with friends. 2-5 people playing tournaments and stuff like that. PES12 is highly entertaining when doing that ;)

Some funny sh1t on here. Nice bit of debate.

Do people not think it is a piss take Konami have forgot to add 2vs2 online on the XBOX360 and it is there on the PS3 and PC? Even if you will never use it?

It's things like this that piss me off the most. Just makes no sense why it isn't there. Like changing things for no reason. Even though gameplay is the most important yes.

Random Selection Match on the PS2 version of PES6 is the single best feature of any game i have ever played. By a long way. Then they just took it out . Why? Maybe i'm the only one who actually used it.

I agree that i would like a game with as little assistance as possible but i would rather have it set to no assistance as default. I've only played the demo and at mates houses so i don't know what it's like online. Are the speed and assistance set to a default or can you select individuality? If you can select individually that is a bit sh1t as i'd rather have it everyone on the same playing field. I suppose if they want the game to sell well they need to appeal to the mass market so they have no choice but to give you the option. After all that Dappy dickwad got to number 1 somehow. I have FIFA and all the assistance options just do my head in, apart from the fact it's FIFA.

The main problem with this game in my opinion is that instead of just improving it they just seem to go from one thing to another without getting anywhere. I realise they have probably buggered up the shooting this year to try to make long range shooting more difficult, but these new air flow, plastic ball physics just look crap to me.

I haven't bought the game because it doesn't have 2vs2 online on the XBOX 360 version and i am making a stand.
Anyone can play the demo before you buy it. I very much doubt a single person wouldn't buy the game just from seeing or reading this thread.
If you don't like don't by it. If stuff annoys you about it don't buy it or wait until it goes cheaper and/or bombard that guy on twitter so they know.

I can't get my head around FIFA so i will probably end up buying it anyway if they are going to patch it, when it goes to around £20 in approximately just over a week.

you can tell a Japanese to do make cars, to make war, to play martial arts... but i dont understand how the fuck a Japanese could do a football game!!!!!!!

PES 2012 is the best one since 5, of that I have no doubt. Everything about it has been improved over last year, especially passing and shooting. Player movements are more realistic, AI is better, defending is more realistic, if a little harder. I rented FIFA for a few nights a few weeks back and I can honestly say the gameplay in PES is MILES beyond it. As usual FIFA is all flash and no substance. PES FEELS like real football far more often. Anyone that knows anything about real football would agree with that. Having been very disappointed last year, I'm very much enjoying this year's edition so far and I'm looking forward to an OF to enhance it ever further.

you must be kidding me

theres always a select few every year that aint able to play the game atall lol
why dont you try practice mode or just play match after match or i reccomend challenge training mode: its helps you attack, how to defend, dribbling skills, free kicks etc etc

and if you still aint able to play the game after all this then i dont think you should be playing footie games... cnt be more simple than that!

are you like 13 or something? :w00t :shocking:

couldnt agree more m8, switched bak to pes 2011 myself aswell, plays alot better than pes2012, they have over tweaked the dribbleing to the point its ridiculas, and they have dropped a bollox with the passing, the game doesnt flow anymore its too fast and your not rewarded for crisp passing just run and dribble round the keeper for a certain goal, o an the shooting is lame

i am still getting this in 2012, if you remember we had it in 2011 as well:

attacker in front of the goal, ball in the air coming towards the attacker, defenders run away from the attacker and give him a clear view of the goal... like an invitation... gentlemen!!! :cussing:

pes 2011 was worse, thorugh balls travelled the whole field without getting intercepted and it played like a game lacking decent tech from 50yrs ago.

First and foremost what is it with all this bickering pes is supposed to bring us together not tear us apart! WHY CANT WE ALL JUST GET ALONG!! Back to point ive had pes about a week now at 1st if im honest i didnt like it. Ive always been a pes fan goin way back to the iss days but the 1st couple of days playing sporadically i may add usually only 3-4 games it done my head in......i hate the auto shooting and i couldnt defend at at all so id end up getting spanked by crap teams on top player coz of the ai cheating and the ridiculous goalies! I was nearly about to throw the gqme aaway but boredom got the best of me yesterday so i threw it on and after reading some tips on here i got better at defending and passing i got really into it and imo im loving it.....it has the feel of pes of old the addictive and fun yet frustrating side tha made me love it as a kid! Shooting needs to be patched as i dont get that sensation when i score coz its no me who controls it but if its fixed it will only enhance the experience even more!! Not everyone will agree some love the game some hate it thats just the way it is so i do think some of this bickering is childish and no need for it!!

cause Konami failed. the most frustrating thing for me is to lose in something i am very good at. i know alot about playing and coaching in football as well as strategies... i hate to lose games where i control possession yet i conceed stupid silly science fiction noob....... goals :gunfire: this game sucks in every aspect of it from passing to dribbling to tackles to shooting to goal keeping. can you believe even the fucking referee sucks!!!! i cant believe this

you started the thread......it's not yours! come to think of it is there anyway we can kick this fool out!?!

dont bother replying to this unless your gonna reply to my other post to you

"I was probably playing ISS before you found your thumbs!" >>> i highly doubt that

Can everyone look at this someone who gives two sides to an argument. I fully agre with power bar being an issue. I think/hope they'll fix this in the next dlc

we've been hoping and thinking that FIFA and KONAMI will finally code a football game since 2000. DO YOU STILL BELIEVE THAT AFTER 11 YEARS OF FAILURES? WAKE UP :thewave:
