PES 2012 is the best one since 5, of that I have no doubt. Everything about it has been improved over last year, especially passing and shooting. Player movements are more realistic, AI is better, defending is more realistic, if a little harder. I rented FIFA for a few nights a few weeks back and I can honestly say the gameplay in PES is MILES beyond it. As usual FIFA is all flash and no substance. PES FEELS like real football far more often. Anyone that knows anything about real football would agree with that. Having been very disappointed last year, I'm very much enjoying this year's edition so far and I'm looking forward to an OF to enhance it ever further.

Played a couple of games on the Xbox today.Fuck me, konami really shafted the xbox pes community this year in so many ways.

@Sabatasso
After playing pes 2012 quite a lot recently playing pes 2011 the shooting feels so good just because pes 2012 shooting is so bad.
Defending is a lot easier in pes 2011 i agree, but it's a lot more realistic.
Offline it's the superior game but online i'd rather play pes where more of a football brain is needed.Having a football brain and trying to play football in pes 2012 is nearly always going to fail when you face the runners.

theres always a select few every year that aint able to play the game atall lol
why dont you try practice mode or just play match after match or i reccomend challenge training mode: its helps you attack, how to defend, dribbling skills, free kicks etc etc

and if you still aint able to play the game after all this then i dont think you should be playing footie games... cnt be more simple than that!

i dislike fifa and i'm good at it? Anyway you don't have much freedom on pes and you have more on fifa with their skill paramaters and shooting but pes has better player individuality. pes 2011 was poor - i remember cb running away from the ball, leaving gaps, scoring own goals - it was a nightmare. Shooting was so easy especially power and you could even pass it next to someone and in pes 2012 you can. dribbling is over done and there needs to be more skil parameters - not as much as fifa's but atleast include fake rabona and hocus pocus and the mcgeady spin where only certain players can do it.

couldnt agree more m8, switched bak to pes 2011 myself aswell, plays alot better than pes2012, they have over tweaked the dribbleing to the point its ridiculas, and they have dropped a bollox with the passing, the game doesnt flow anymore its too fast and your not rewarded for crisp passing just run and dribble round the keeper for a certain goal, o an the shooting is lame

Ok, pity that you think that, really simple minded. I've been playing PES even before it was called PES, had the old Winning Eleven imported from Japan... so I'm a huge fan of the series, and I've always been good at it, but this one, its really draining my patience down.

So frustrating in so many ways.... I've learned how to defend, but how can you defend when they throw long balls from half field, and after a rebound they do a perfect volley and incrust the ball in the net? I suffer this at least every 2 games, this and the stupid rebound shots... or how bout "John Smith" from Mali doing perfect free kicks every time?

Really frustating. I dominate then, have the ball for more time, score, but they manage to tie or win al the time....

Its unbelievable how they "tested" this game and launched it the way it is.

yes it's your to bitch on forums but that doesn't mean thats what there for........it's also your right to go throw yourself of a bridge, that doesn't mean it's a good idea.

the user control is actually too good when attacking which is why it is hard to tackle people with Messi/ronaldo. In defence I have no problems although a lot of people seem to, so I won't say anything on that.

PLEASE stop stealing my coment about turn-based games when you clearly don't seem to know what one is.

but at least you qualified what your saying as an OPINION so I can't fault you there, EVEN IF I DON'T AGREE....something to learn there

Actually, a thread titled "Do Not Buy PES 2012" is exactly the place to bitch. Are you not familiar with how a forum works? There are plenty of other threads if you don't like this one....something to learn there

As for that absurd analogy...I'll leave that for you and drama class.

And as for that nonsense about turn-based games is: of course I know what one is and I still stand by my statement.

Does anyone else find defending crosses annoying?
The attackers always seem to get in front of the defenders.
Also when you move your cb in the box when anticipating the cross seems really hopeless.Lest year you could actually position your defenders in the box a lot better when anticipating the cross and letting the A.I to pressure the winger.
Most of the time when your player gets down the wing it's usually inevitable the homing missile is going to drop perfectly for the attacker whilst your defenders are flapping about behind the attacker in no man's land.
I rarely cross myself now because i just feel like i'm exploiting the game.

um, i do too but i cant play at the moment as i am grounded, but seeing this got me thinking, try holding triangle or whatever button u use to rush goalkeeper maybe he'll come out an catch it or at least punch it away.

First and foremost what is it with all this bickering pes is supposed to bring us together not tear us apart! WHY CANT WE ALL JUST GET ALONG!! Back to point ive had pes about a week now at 1st if im honest i didnt like it. Ive always been a pes fan goin way back to the iss days but the 1st couple of days playing sporadically i may add usually only 3-4 games it done my head in......i hate the auto shooting and i couldnt defend at at all so id end up getting spanked by crap teams on top player coz of the ai cheating and the ridiculous goalies! I was nearly about to throw the gqme aaway but boredom got the best of me yesterday so i threw it on and after reading some tips on here i got better at defending and passing i got really into it and imo im loving it.....it has the feel of pes of old the addictive and fun yet frustrating side tha made me love it as a kid! Shooting needs to be patched as i dont get that sensation when i score coz its no me who controls it but if its fixed it will only enhance the experience even more!! Not everyone will agree some love the game some hate it thats just the way it is so i do think some of this bickering is childish and no need for it!!

Guys i just wanted to mention that on another forum people are saying the 1.01 patch broke the gameplay. I've only ever been playing on version 1.00 and having a blast so i cant give an opinion

okay I understand the title of the thread and I came to the thread for adult opinions on what people felt was wrong with the game. Thats not what I got - I understand this is my fault for always having assumed I would get a balanced point of view on this site, as I have for years. I think I already explained that I know what a forum is please see my earlier post, and unlike a lot of people here I have offered my opinion, not attacked anyone for not agreeing and even tried to give people tips on how to make the game more enjoyable.

the analogy is sound mate - at the end of the day just cause you can do something doesn't mean you should. It's not right to offer one sided comments to people who have not had a chance to form their own opinions and affect their judgement. A forum is designed to give people the information they require to form educated opinions on whatever the subject may be.

If you know what a turn based game is, can you explain to me in what way Pro is turn based? (that is an honest question, not an attack)

and the only person to have proved themselfs to have no footballing knowledge (well done for calling it football) is you! complaining that realistic aspects of the game make unrealistic! as I said go play a game of footie and come tell me those things are realistic!

you started the thread......it's not yours! come to think of it is there anyway we can kick this fool out!?!

dont bother replying to this unless your gonna reply to my other post to you

pes 2012 plays better than pes 2011 because you didn't ge that feeling where you pass orthorugh ball it and you couldn't lay the passes out. pes 2012 oyu can pass better but the only advantage pes 2011's passing had over pes 2012 is the power bar and that is it. pes 2011 when ever you cut in from the wings, it was like turning a double decker bus and the dribbling was ridiculous- you only could dribble with speed merchants and in 2012 tactical dribblers like van der vaart and xavi can do turns and dodges. pes 2011 only had a better power bar than 2012 and that is it.
Also pes 2011's graphics were a huge joke - it looked so fake and cartoony. if you looked at the player faces in pes 2011 (and I'm serious), the looked like 2d magazines cut outs stuck on a players face. in pes 2012 the graphics look realistic and player faces blend and look 3d and sure they look robotic because they are all emotionless but pes is getting there with animations that hopefully by 2013 players can respond better, their eys can move or some players can scrath their head and everything will just flow so smoothly
