lol. turns out you can install backup / imports. you just need a chip and a 3rd party hdd. :D

yes, it's been confirmed by the people that have the software that that shit works with non-sony hard drives.

i'm on my way to pick up a segate or a matrox. lol, i take back what i said earlier. desperate people do desperate things. :p

WE here i come! :)

peace all. sorry for da confusion. :p

i was told this by www.modchipworld.com who were testing the HDLoader on a Segate.

and by another user from divineo.com who has Magic V (chip) and matrox 120GB hdd.

that's 2 people right there. :p

well, i'm bring some bad news peeps........

bought a 120GB drive and i still can't install no backups / imports.

looks like a no-go. at least with DMS3 and at least for now. spend your money on something else until we get a fix or someone finds out how to do it.

and before you ask - yeah, my chip and the hdd both work correctly. i know because i just installed the original we7 on the new hdd (not via hdloader but in-game thingy)

so unless you're interested in copyin originals... i have to admit that the originals that i installed worked very nicely. i have a fast hdd and they load ultra fast and you save the laser of course.

well.............. lets just sit tight and wait.

wouldnt sony ban this as ppl could just borrow games off their friends and copy them to the hdd. or buty them and then return them. its worse than downloading games. its easier and takes less time.

It's great! I've got it working and I think its the best thing that's ever happened to the PS2. I have now installed 'HDLoader lite' (which can be dl on DMS3's own website) onto my memory card so that I don't need the HDLoader disc everytime I want to access the HD. I just hold down :triangle: and instead of HDD Explorer I go staight into the games list on HDLoader lite. Nice!!

I think it supports all chips but if you want to install copies you MUST have the chip active. I don't want to go promising anything when I don't know for sure, but I think HDLoader supports all mod-chips.

You dont need a chip to use HDLoader as it says on the FAQ on HDLOADER.COM - AshMufc posted something on how to use backups on HDLoader - However this is yet to be confirmed or tested.
