If I've understood the whole HDDLoader thing correctly then I should be able to load up my patched PES3 (I have a DMS3 modded PS2) and then store it on the HD. Then next time I want to play it I just browse for the title in HDDLoaders menu and choose PES3 and it will boot it up?

Am I right?

Does it matter if the Hard drive I buy is a Sony one from Japan/USA? I mean, they are not NTSC/PAL are they? I know the HD Loader is.

I've just realised I can dl something called HD Explorer because I have a DMS3 chip. It's exactly the same as HD Loader but free to dl.

Edit: I've just downloaded it and it rocks! No more discs for this Pesser!

Nope you cant download things like on your PC. As mumpleaser has DMS3 chip, the application enables him to download on his PC and put it on disc then put it in his PS2 then allows him to use it sameway as HDLoader.

by the way, i have the official hdd that comes with FFXI. it was previously formatted with the sony software..

Nevermind, problem fixed.

Now, it doesn't seem like it's possible to install the HDD Explorer on this drive.

I boot the disk, get to the screen with "press X to install...", then 3 seconds later i get the "restart the system now..." message but when I restart there's no nothing on the HDD... .

Any help?

I think you need to hold down Start or select when turning on your PS2 to go into HDD Explorer mode. It might be another button, can't remember. I kn ow that x is PS2 games, square is DVDs and circle is PSX games and triangle is DMS3 Explorer mode
