Wait...
A lot of the time the referee makes ridiculous decisions towards the advantage rule, which can get very annoying. Like when you're through on goal, and he pulls the play back.
I played one game of 10v10 and it was pretty good, except for the bit of lag (probably due to my naff connection), and one guy kept hogging the ball and wouldn't pass. The guys I was playing with were actually keeping their positions most of the time, which was quite nice to see because from what I've heard so far, most games end up with 10 strikers all chasing the ball.

I understand the annoyance of advantages in Fifa but I just try to think of them as shit decisions by the ref like in a real game. It helps if only a little bit. :fplm:

If the commentary in FIFA bugs you, God knows what you think of PES. I really like Tyler and Gray, I don't often hear repeats and there's nothing that really grates.

It would be amazing for the next FIFA if they had Tyler and Gray plus another team to provide variation - maybe Ian Darke or Rob Hawthorne along with Alan Smith or Brian Marwood.

The inclusion of another two commentators is a great idea. Though Fifa's current commentary is good.

Can you turn off the Adiddas Live thingy?

Yeah you can. It says in the manual.

Wish they'd fucking include cup presentations on this game aswell! It looked great in the UEFA 2008 game so why not have it in FIFA!?

After a good hard slog to the season you wanna at least see the players lifting the FA Cup at Wembley or seeing them lift the Premier League trophy when you clinch it. Instead we see them all having some gay manlove in the centre circle at the end and then it goes onto the game stats page. Bullshit!

At least in PES you actually get a good cup presentation.

You must be joking - Andy Gray's idiotic analysis is just abominable - Lawrensen is hardly good, but Gray is just shocking.

On the other hand, I think that Tyler is a top rate commentator.

I think Gray's a fat cunt but for some reason, along with Alan Hansen, he's the only pundit whose opinion you want to hear. And him and Gray always give you the big game, Sky feel.

PES "fanboys" turned to FIFA...

Hi there!
I'm still not quite sure which game to buy this year - and I'm NOT buying both! ;)
I would really like to hear from the guys who have been playing PES for the last 5-10 years and has switched over to FIFA09.
What are the pro and cons for both games?

What I like in PES is the individuallity every single player brings to the game. That be their stats, skills, attributes and their physical looks on the screen - which let's me know straight away whom I'm in control of - without having to look at the HUD.
I also like the Master League - eventhough (now that I get to think of it) I haven't played the Master League in PES08 yet!?! (Haven't had the time I guess).
Editing is great fun - but since I haven't had time to play the ML - is it then realistic for me to get all the editing done? I guess not...
Finally, to me it kind of sounds like, the PES' Be a Legend is better than FIFA's Be a Pro?

From the FIFA demo I really like the new animations, graphics and the new physics collision "thing-a-mo-bob". Also I feel "I can't live without" the finess shot button (I know it's in PES too - but it's better to use in FIFA). Also the overall flow of the game feels great.

What I'm a bit affraid of is; how much control do I have over each individual player in the formation editor. PES' formation editor is awsome, as it gives me 100% full control of positions and what role each and every player has.

But all in all: What makes FIFA "better" than PES this year - and why did "YOU" make the switch from PES to FIFA09

I'll answer your questions as soon as I have some free time.

Surely people can't answer that question as PES 2009 hasn't even been released yet ? Apparently the FIFA 09 demo isn't a patch on the full game, and according to reports the PES 2009 demo isn't as good as the final build. Therefore at the moment, FIFA 09 fans are just comparing the final version of FIFA 09 to the PES 2009 demo, which is obviously unfair.

I enjoyed the FIFA 09 demo, but I'm absolutely loving the PES 2009 demo. I can only buy 1 game as money is tight, so based on the demos and the general feel of them both, I'm definetely going to buy PES 2009.

Commentary isn't all that bad, it used to be worse with quotes like 'He couldn't hit a cow with a banjo, that lad" or "the goalkeeper looks like he swallowed a wasp!" in older FIFA's.

They really do give you the idea that you are actually playing a real game of football.

I'll agree with you there to some extent - it does give the game a big feel (although that's a bit weird when you play Bristol Rovers versus Darlington etc), and definately Hansen is far and away the best pundit on TV - but I don't like Gray's commentary, his analysis is alright.

I just booked my copy. The release date in Asia is next week. I really hope that it'll be as enjoyable as what people say.

Fuck me, everyone plays as Man Utd and throws every ball at Ronaldo who magically turns every shot into a goal.

Beat Man City with Athletic Bilbao though, the cunt was shouting into his microphone for some reason. With real swear-words.

No, it isn't thankfully. Though all I seem to get are English twats.

Great!

You're right about them though. When I was playing FIFA 08, there was a British twat calling everyone's is shit and saying he's the best player - he only played about 3 matches and only won once. I challenged him for a match, and he rejected it.

Ha, I know how it goes. Usually you can spot a twat by the name, but occasionally he says nothing and then scores....that's when they get cocky and spout off like Moby Dick.
