Well ive bought the last 3 FIFA's for PC, as i am exclusively a PC gamer, and although there has been noticeable changes and improvements, the PC area is always somewhere where EA have failed to deliver.
Ive seen the console editions of the previous couple of FIFA's and i agree, they are very good games, and its certainly arguable that its the best Football game on the market.
But on the PC platform, PES is head and shoulders on its own, purely for Konami's ability to replicate the standard of its console editions. When you play PES, be it on Xbox, PS3 or PC, they are all pretty much the same standard, crisp appearances and fluid movement.
With EA, it seems that the Xbox and PS3 versions are some exquisite piece of art, assigned all the time and effort of their team, and the PC version of the game always seems to be some slap-dash, last minute job.
This years FIFA seems to be no different. Ive heard all the rave reviews, although i'd bet that most of these originate from satisfied console gamers, and as well they should be, im sure its a joy to behold on the other platforms.
But for me, the main issue is, and always has been, the gameplay. It is still extremely unrealistic, maybe thats just me, but its far too slow, too rigid and ultimately.....unsatisfying. Some of the player animations, tricks, the goalkeeper AI, the penalties, the crowd, are spot on, i'll give that to EA this year, they have got "the little things" absolutely perfect.
But the things that matter, to me anyway, the ball physics, the pace of the game itself (or lack there of), the appearances of refs and players, the way the players move when in possession of the ball, it just doesnt do it for me, at least not on this platform.
