Now for all N.American soccer fans Fifa is our only choice until w11 comes out which is in March 05.

Larsson I didn't mean to do anything but inform. this (to me) was breaking news. the gameplay looks surprisingly good. I am now optimistic towards this title. I'm buying WE8 no doubt and can't buy PES4 because i'm not on PAL. But to NOT let people view the vid because it's a double post and to post it in a otherwise"currupt' thread is not what i was thinking of doing.

I just love soccer/football games and unfortunately sometimes my enthusiam, gets the best of me, but i still feel it was valid to double post info.

Ok now that the 3rd producer diary is out we get a look at what's IN the game as far as features and modes. One thing that's cool is that Fifa will be adding a EAStore to the game . Where 3rd kits, night lighting, new balls and referees can be unlocked as well as music tracks. You can create a player but NOT edit kits at all(but how does that matter when Fifa's kits are usually all up to date or at least the years previous). They've said that new nimations have been made to make the players look and handle more fluidly in the game. while IGN has posted some full game matches of it's gameplay it does look much improved so what they're saying has SOME validity. The only thing is that I think the game is pretty much finished now in back of Isaac the Idiot was a screen with Fifa Football 2005's start menu. I could be beta but it's almost OCT so.... i don't know guys i'm hopeful at least if not for the gameplay the licensing (which is a pain to get on my WE8 right now) is all there "GO Legia/Warsawa!" . I feel the career mode will be better than any of EA's OR ESPN's sport game offerings and it might edge out WE's as well (Only because it's layout is class). Oct. 12th is close and i'm close to getting it too. :)

i quoted the wrong post but above he/she said "go Legia" which is a club in Warsaw Poland (Warszawa Polska). My family is from there so I couldn't let it go unresponded. Our team is Polonia Warsaw. They had a player named Emmanuelle Olisadebe who you might have heard of. Or maybe not.

Anyway as for FIFA. Let me preface my opinion by saying that PES3 is far better than any previous FIFA game. It's not even a contest. As a matter of fact I think ISS '98 is still better than FIFA 2004 or This is Football 2005. Ok now that I have that out of the way I will say that FIFA 2002 was kind of fun and FIFA 2003 was good (not great) and FIFA 2004 was the best of them all. There are all sorts of problems with FIFA 2004 (like how you can score from 30 yards out consistently) but it was still fun. Now FIFA 2001 was crap. Absolute garbage. FIFA 2001 still stands as the worst football game ever made in my opinion.

I will wait to see how the reviews are for 2005 before I decide if I want to buy it. I don't think it will be anywhere near PES but it may be fun anyway if they fix a few of the bugs. I still think the number one problem with FIFA is the ball physics. They've improved but the ball still moves like a pinball instead of a football. Crossing can be silly in the FIFA series when the ball is moving like it was shot out of a cannon.

Also....I want to ask a EA FIFA game designer to his face a few questions. I want him to admit that FIFA programmers are lazy. Why can't you dummy the ball in the FIFA games?

If someone goes to www.soccergaming.com and looks at the Fifa 2005 multi-media thread and looks at the last "new" vid link they'll see visually and very clearly that Fifa 2005 looks to be MUCH better than Fifa 2004 and Euro 2004 put together. I'm buying it for the simple reason of it's cool carrer modethis year. you can intervene in any match that you sim and if you see our losing you can go in pyhsically and change that depending on how good you are at the game. i like that i think other sports games should have that in their carrer modes. On top of that I know full well it will never match the realism that WE8 has given us this year. I'm just saying that when i play a fifa game and then go back to WE i feel like a bought a brand new game all over again and i start seeing WE as a new experience. But yeah career mode looks good.

I don`t know how old this thread is, but why are you people complaining about WE/PES menus. To me, in previous versions they were realy easy to figure out and now in WE8 and in PES4 the menus are a top class. It`s that hi-tech feeling. I seriously doubt that FIFA2005 menus will be anything like in WE8 or PES4. All Konami needs to do is put some good music while going through menus are we are all set. FIFA versions always had good background music and especially when you`re browsing through menus.

In the beginning of this thread the 5th FIFA2005 screenshot when players come out, they seem to walk too damn fast and they walk like a military line-ups.

Now, you realy can`t judge a game by the screenshots or by the video clips. Watching WE/PES clips aren`t that great neither the ball always seems too fast but when you get the game and start playing it then the real football starts.

I will try to create some sort of a chart where it tells you which game brings better stuff WE/PES series and the new series WE8 vs FIFA 2005. *remember* these are only my opinions which may sound dumb and ridiculous to some of you. Here we go:

KONAMI - WE & PES series: what they offer, and what they don`t/

- The gameplay ( the most important thing in any game, not just football )
- The realistic feeling that you get when playing WE/PES games. It feels like a real life-like football, the atmosphere and everything else.
- Recent WEN points also WE-SHOP looks really good.
- Edit mode.

* what these games don`t offer *

- Official Licenses for kits, names, jerseys and everything else -. YES, they are starting to develop licenses for some clubs which is good but there is still ALOT of stuff that is not licensed and it`s very FAKE.
- No online play: This is something that a WE/PES fan would want badly just like a FIFA FAN would like to have WE/PES gameplay in FIFA series. All this talk about PES4 being online on X-BOX is simply B.S
- The worst commentary ever on PES and WE (international) series. In Jap* version I don`t really understand anything so it doesn`t bother me.
- The menu music is nothing to cry about but the music sometimes feels very dull.
- Commercials are very poor. Konami never promotes the game in right way. They use pie`s.

This is now a FIFA serie part:

- They bring excelent official licenses for everything: players, stadiums, kits, club teams, national teams so it`s = EVERYTHING ! .
- The commentary in every single FIFA is brilliant. No B.S like in PES.
- Menus are looking ok - simple - and if you don`t like FIFA you can always use it as a music cd it offers great BGM music at all times.
- EA promotes all their games in the right way not only FIFA.
- Online play (enough said)
- One FIFA FAN was arguing with this WE/PES fan and this is what he told him: "go play your fake ass leagues while I play my official champions league and premiership league. the fifa fan gets the points.

Negative things:

ISS64 will have better gameplay than in FIFA 2005. If EA wants to bring Konami down, they need to have better gameplay than in WE/PES. If EA ever brings the gameplay as we already have it in we/pes modern game, then KONAMI pack your bags and leave.

- The entire game feels 'unrealistic' which brings the game nowhere.

That`s about it. KONAMI wins easily. -
