I've just noticed that this forum is advertising FIFA Football 2004 in the top right hand corner....could i just ask why?

I'll take this question. For those of you who don't know me, I'm the webmaster and owner of Soccer Gaming.

PESInsight moved onto our servers a month or so back. In return for thier completely free hosting we take some of their advertising space. EA have purchased an advertising campaign on Soccer Gaming to obviously promote their game. The ads are run accross the entire Soccer Gaming network. They are not just placed on one website. Since this site is part of our network, the ads are displayed here.

The revenue earnt from EA advertising on Soccer Gaming goes straight back into paying for our servers and keeping sites like SG and PESInsight alive.

In the past other companies such as Codemasters have paid for advertising on Soccer Gaming. Their ads have been displayed on all of our sites, including our FIFA ones. If Konami came to us and wanted to advertise they would be more than welcome, and their PES ads would be displayed across the network as well.

I hope this explains things.

Can you tell us whether Konami have ever advertised on Soccer Gaming?

(It sometimes seems as if they don't even have a marketing department!)

I have never spoken to or been able to find anyone at Konami who wishes to advertise their game. You are right, it is as if they don't have a marketing department.

They work with a PR group in the UK who sometimes send over press releases, but thats about it.

But fifa 2003 was still in the PS2 chart last week and PES2 disappeared a long time ago.

A little money spent on advertising and licences would generate loads more sales for Konami.

i am not saying it wouldnt help, but a 'relistic football game' that has no weather effects, compared to a real football game. yes the advertising would help, but wot would u prefer, chessy ads or money well spend on programing?

Now PES3 will have a few lisences, why dont konami run a few short ads on TV or some ads in console mags. They could show games between Juve and AC, and Roma and Lazio in order to get a few of the shallow, eye-candy hungry, ''I only want real kits and player names'' FIFA players buying the game. It would make Konami alot more money in the long run, so any ad campaign would more than pay for itself.

When you are using a feature that has you not touching the football as the core selling point of your game, things aren't going too well.

Maybe 'Create Brilliance..........With No Weather Effects System Whatsoever!...........FIFA Football 2004' would have worked better.

Look mate with all due respect just because PES is the best football game eva,

That does not mean fifa is shit i think that was a bit imature
i will be buying FIFA and CLUB FOOTBALL.
