FIFA fanboys, are you one?

i read so many threads about how PES is not as good as was expected by players and they are putting a fifa cd back in. first of all, honestly, why do you feel like anybody should care what you are doing in the privacy of your own home?? are you that lonely???

but that aside, i tried FIFA over the last week, and i cant finish single game, there are so many bugs in gameplay and its just not fluid and nothing compared to PES. and i just dont get it, are we even playing the same games?? are you sure you got PES09 and most importantly do i have FIFA09 or maybe some other miserable misconception of a game with a FIFA tag written on it??

My Thoughts Exactly! I played FIFA 09, stopped after 15 minutes, but because of all the hype I gave it another try several days. Stil I cannot understand the hype about this game. Why does everybody love FIFA? I don't see it, and believe me, I am not blind... I am a true gamer since the early 80's.

That's why we have these forums, so people who have paid good money can air their views. I know fifa has it's bugs, but so has pes this year and that's why people are so pissed, myself included.

Funny thing is the FIFA supporters yesterday have changed my opinion on FIFA completely. Instead of the liking I had for it - for it's a good game (not as good as PES2009) - I ended up being irritated by the concept of it, because I spent most of the day pointing out its flaws.

Yup same goes for me... I have a few friends who we're nagging me to try FIFA. I ended up giving in because I never played PES for a year due to how shit PES08 was... I installed it, loaded it up and tried it... In a way I'm glad they went on and on to try it. Because now I can justify my reasons for saying the game sucks.

Going by the PES demo and the Fifa full game, it's Fifa all the way. I've yet to try the full PES due to my PS3 being broke, so hopefully the full game will change my mind.

The trouble with some people on this site is they don't seem to allow the guys who prefer Fifa to have an opinion.

Now, no-one likes the guys who sign up and in their first post write "PES SUX - FIFA IZ DA BEST," but it seems their post doesn't need to be that stupid to be called a fanboy, which is sad. Yes, it's a PES forum, but that doesn't mean it's full of people who think PES is the best, fuck the rest.

Preferring Fifa here seems to be a cardinal sin. You're allowed to like Fifa, but only as long as you prefer PES. This is really annoying, and it makes some members here even more annoying than the one-poster's who sign up to tell us how great Fifa is compared to PES.

After FIFA 08 was my sanctuary from PES08, I decided I'd get FIFA the day it came out this year. I just didn't connect with it. Technically good, but it has absolutely no soul. PES has it in spades this year.

I'm a diehard pro evo fan and have played the series since the very first ISS on the SNES. I've always dissed FIFA and quite rightly as it has been shit since the get go. After all the hype around Fifa 09 i thought i'd give it a try. To start with i thought what a pile of cack, so unresponsive, players with a mind of their own, computer scoring 5 headers past me every game. I kept putting in the hard work though, as i was, and am still waiting to receive PES. Boy does it repay you for putting in the effort. Don't get me wrong, there's still plenty of improvements that could be made by taking a leaf out of Pro Evo's book, but it is a damn good game, and really pretty realistic in the way it makes you have to play to be successful. I never thought i'd say this, and was convinced for a time that the people saying they'd converted from PES to FIFA were long term FIFA fans trying to stir it up, but now i can see where they're coming from. I'm not going to make a final judgement until i've played the final version of PES for a week or two, but it's got it's work cut out to keep it's title as the greatest footy game. I'm confident it will keep it's crown, but there is definitely now 2 quality options to choose from It's true.

First id just like to say that i cant stand those absolute twats who totally slate one and totally big up the other. Its so wrong on all levels coz its obvious that both games have their good and bad points. Neither are perfect or rubbish. If someone prefers one to the other thats fair enough but i dont think that gives them the licence to totally burn the other game.
Every year i buy Pro Evo and my mate buys Fifa when they both come out so i play both and have spent enough time on both to have an opinion. I personally think both games are good this year. Also i think both games were pretty poor last year. Both have their own ups and downs imo. Always have done. Im not sittin on the fence for the sake of it...im sittin on the fence coz imo its the only place to be imo.
For years ive said...what they should do is get together and make one awesome game that will rule the football game world....problem is, thats in a perfect world and that will never happen coz both companies want to make big money which they dont wanna split down the middle. Also there's the fact that some people will always buy both games every year anyway to get the best of both worlds.
To round things up what im basically sayin is both games are solid enough this year (if they werent dont you think someone else woulda made a game to rival them by now?) but if youre real picky it all depends on which downsides get on your nerves the most as to which game you actually buy imo.

I understand your point, but you have to remember this is not the official Konami forums. Why people bring FIFA into the discussion is missing the point. They are both different games altogether. The gameplay on FIFA sucks for me. Even with PES08, there's no doubt this was the worst in the series, but I could still adjust to the gameplay and make it feel like the others.

The main problem is, the people coming on these forums slating PES for one thing or another and clogging up the forums with pointless posts that make no sense whatsoever. "PES vs FIFA", "PES SUCKS" or "I WANT MY MONEY BACK"... Jesus... If people bothered reading the forums instead of jumping the gun, they will find a thread specifically for these rants. And there is also another thread that CLEARLY says...

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, good or bad. But once again, crying on these forums wont get you anywhere as their not the OFFICIAL forums. People come on these forums to see if others have encountered the same problem with the game, discuss the high and low points of "PES". As for the FIFA topics and posts, its really sad to see they have nothing better to be doing, like for example, playing FIFA! The game their hyping up so god damn much.

If people like FIFA more than PES that much, why not go on say, Gametrailers or IGN and write a review!

firstly this a forum and ther airing ther views exactly as you are telling us your playing pes in the privacy of your own home

as for sayin you've not been able to finish a single game, do you mean the offline against the comp or online?
i've always been biased towards pes, but this year fifa has come back with a very much improved game that has elements of the pes of old i.e the build up play
wer as pes has come back with online nearly sorted and a new game mode, be a legend, but has still incorporated the style of a slightly arcadey feel that we, including myself used to slag fifa off for.

i have to say i like fifa for its online play that it offers but for offline play and its stability, i would still go for pes because it still feels like thers more freedom with the ball

all in all both games are good in ther own right, which seeing as pes is going through a slightly sticky patch, can only mean good things for the pes series, by that it might actually give seabass a kick up the arse :lol:
