The game's only short coming is that the passing is fast. This ends though when your playing with somebody. The AI seems to want to pass everywhere right away which makes Winning Eleven's pace better and more realistic. The menus and editing options are crap, almost on par with World Tour Soccer 2005) and that's not saying much, actually that's saying something bad). Where the game really outdoes the "current" competition though is the lighting and stadium game atmosphere. You can not argue the fact that the game on the pitch looks great and is much more visually pleasing than WE/PES. This along with the gameplay makes it more appealing to me. The gameplay is almost on par with WE/PES. The tricks and feints are better in WE/PES. The distance kicking is a little better, but hey that's where it stops guys. The controls on the controller mimic WE/PES's controls and for the most part almost identically (with the exceptions i just made in regard to trick/feints and distance kicking). I don't know what you game your playing, but I think this is a little gem that I'm happy I struggled over to get working. :)

Graphically it´s clearly behind WE7:I, it looks nice when you play with the zoomed view though, the light effects on the pitch are nice indeed. The gameplay is years behind Konami´s games. The AI is weak, and sorry, if you don´t see that you obviously haven´t played many footie games in your life ;) I´ve described it already in my previous post.
Tricks are unrealistic, compared to PES, because it doesn´t matter which player you use, the dribbling will be succesful, it seems that your skills and the skills of your player doesn´t play a role if you use the trick buttons.
I think you´ll see that I´m right after 2 weeks :)

that's an akward list, but it's my list *shrugs shoulders*

Football Kingdom gets better after a few matches in. When you first pick it up it's eh ok,but then it grows on you. And then you see how much of WE is in it and how much it could become...Football Kingdom 2.

It has a lot of WE in it, definately, and it´s way better than FIFA in my eyes, however it´s far far behind WE series, the AI is just to weak, that´s why I got bored of this game after a couple of days...

I agree with you the with the AI, I continue to say it's like they just want to kick the ball around and get lucky,but that changes once your playing with someone.

Unfortunately I have to play against the CPU, my mates either play FIFA or WE :( ;)

i won't disagree with you on that in regrads to WE7:i. in fact i've been playing that game for past 5 months and i still amaze myself. now i don't know how long FK will last in that department but I scored some goals in FK that i haven't been able to score in WE7:i before so.... i don't know i just feel it's good break to have. It feels somewhat similiar but isn't. What it lacks it makes up for in atmsophere. It's night matches it's day matches it's rain matches look awesome on certian stadiums. But again the gameplay is much better than ANY Fifa game or World Tour/this Is football game. it's not quite WE but it sure wants to be and that's no fault of it's own. good job Namco Ohh and i also play namco's smash copurt tennis tournament 2 and it's greatly improved upon the original let's hope that's what happens with FK.

I disagree with you on the point that it´s better than ANY Fifa game. You should test some of the older versions, eg 98 Road to World Cup or 99. Of course the improvement in graphics is huge over the past few years, so if you play them you´ll be shocked by the ugly graphic :p, but this games had a great gameplay, they were not as good as Konami´s games, even at that time, but you could play them for ages without getting bored.
I think there are many ways to score goals in FK, unfortunately it´s a bit to easy to score great goals, eg overhead kicks. But there is a great freedom of movement in FK.
You should visit Solidus´ forum, www.winningeleven.com, they have kits, boots, balls and other stuff which can be imported to the game. I´m registered there for a long time, however I post only about once a month because the forum is Spanish and my Spanish isn´t very well ;)

Fernando's Football Kingdom English Patch v0.004 (7/10/04)

I've been translating to complete the Edit player menus and options. Also fixed some missing words here and there.

Also in this patch:

- More Player Abilities
- More Match-League-Kingdom Mode Menus
- More Dialogs
- The Usual Bugfixing Word matching

It's really worth a cd.

It´s hard to find any reviews for it on the net, Famitsu rated it 6.8 out of 10,
To sum it up quickly, FK is like an arcade version of WE7.
