Loopy about Lupoli
Depends how much you want to spend, and how good you are looking for. Some players for a couple of million who become world class or close to it that haven't been mentioned include:

Michel Schmoller
Omar Esparza
Falcao
Emilio Nsue
Arouca
Cristian Benavente

And the expensive (about £10m or so, maybe cheaper if you get in early) top class young players yet to be named:

Morais
Marcelo
Marcelo Grohe
Lucas
Salvatore Foti
Fernando Gago
Gonzalo Higuain
Jonathan De Guzman
Igor Akinfeev

Owen, I signed that Bruno Veiga you are bigging up. He's really good for 18. Cheers for that.

Couple more to look at: Sidnei from Internacional and Lucas Biglia Argentine from Anderlecht (I think).

I guess I'm the only one on here who considers using the search function to find specific players based on others telling them to buy him as cheating?

Don't get me wrong - I'm not one of these purists who will tell you you're shit at the game if you use it, each to their own in that respect - but I just don't do it myself.

I'm more of a "use the scouts and search" person. Obviously, I'll do a lot of scouting myself - checking match results and clicking around loads of players on the off-chance.

Just shy of half-way through my first full season at Wigan (well, it will be at the end of it) - solidly sitting in 8th place, with UEFA Cup hopes.

Yossi's boys Norwich were promoted along with Ipswich and West Brom last season, with only the latter currently avoiding the drop. Man Utd sit top of the league with Reading (yes, g33k, you read correctly) second, and Aston Villa and West Ham taking up the other Champions' League spots. Games in hand for the big teams (Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal) could see order restored, however.

I still can't decide on the ideal striking partnership with what I've got - so rotation is in order. I'm worried that rotating means none of them will get a chance to properly bang the goals in - but 8th place is good enough for me to not get too wound up about it.

Benavente's terribly hard to get I found, whatever team you take he doesn't want to come from Real's youth. Later on when he signs his pro contract they slap a min release fee on him.

I got him for £2m at Milan :erm:

Someone buy the Portuguese central defender Pedro on a free. He's close to the best youngster I've signed in FM07 (after Okaka and Rivaldo), just takes two to three years of training and playing in the youth team to become magnificent.

He wouldn't come to me in my Barca game, not in my Milan game, not in my Sevilla game, not in my Reading game....

Nor my Stoke one

Niftoo, I tend to look at suggested players then scout them a bit before buying them. I found a good defender when going through the Cameroon U-21's - Benoit Angbwa. Only cost £500k too. He probably won't be good enough for the Chelsea's and Barca's but sure is plenty good enough for my FC Brussels! Nikon Jevtic is quality too, and goes pretty much anywhere at the start.

I'll be honest - I've just spent 10 minutes looking for this Pedro of whom you all speak, and can't find him.

None of the Pedro's in my game started on a free transfer, not the centre-halves at least.

I tend to find the best way to scout players to just spend a lot of time randomly hunting around. You sometimes stumble across the odd gem, and it's all worth it.

And for the record, starting with lower league teams pisses on playing with top sides all day long.

Anyone up for a grass-roots online game?

Pedro's full-name is Luis Carlos Pedro if that's any help. I've just found him and he's looks brilliant.

Just had a bid from Feyernoord for Enyeama of £4.9m. The board took-over and accepted the offer. Looks like I'm on the hunt for a 'keeper in the remaining few days of the transfer window! Got a few in the U-19s and reserves though who look good, so might just use them.

Is this in your FC Brussels game nath?

Oh, and I forgot to mock you about this at the time - but Stoke City are my feeder club at Wigan.

Send us Eastwood.

Yeah, it is in my Brussels game. Because of some hweeling and dealing though, I've got almost £6million to spend with 5 days of the window remaining.

Another good youngling - Georginio Wijnaldum. Absolute bastard to get at first though, once he signs a pro-deal, it's pretty easy.

Wijnaldum is brilliant when you get to around 2009-2010.

He's at Real Madrid on my Liverpool game, but he couldn't prevent us from smashing them anyway :ninja:

I'm on my first season at FM 07 and won the damn league as liverpool.(Posting a pic soon)
I got a few players ready for the next season.
I signed: Stewart Downing, Nani, Ben Sahar, Rossi and some more which i forgot.

Advice:for those who start as a lower league team, i suggest buy andrew cole from portsmouth.
if you cant find him on the first team, try the reserve squad. he should be there.

in my game, Chelsea became shit since mourinho left. Arsenal are starting to become shit after Coleman becomes the manager.

Man U became shit on mine, they are fighting for a place in the top 10 :shocking:

Ferguson retired, then Dave Jones took over, then Real poached him and they have Southgate (yes Southgate) in charge and they've been shit this season.
