As some of you may be aware, a while back I was discussing the creation of an "all players" facepack - basically, a picture for near-enough every player in Football Manager. I predicted it would be ready for the release of 2008, or thereabouts (obviously I'd need the database to work from), but I fell a little behind schedule.

I have, belatedly, begun work on it now, and am pleased to announce the first set of results (I finally managed to get the pictures working, and streamline the process of image creation through some handy macros I created a while back and tinkered with).

I'm not going to lie - this has been quite a big job so far, and I toyed with the idea of making them look fancy, or giving them fancy "trading card" looks and whatnot, but I've decided to keep it fairly simple. My personal favourites have always been simple, photographic action shots of the player in question (in the case of FM '08, these are regular 180px x 180px photos, none of this cut-out shit, which sit in the space they should). The type of thing I've gone for can be seen from the screenshot below:

Unfortunately, I'm at a loss as to where I can host multiple packs for people to be able to download endlessly, so for now MegaUpload will have to do. I'll steadily go through the game, systematically, to build up a portfolio of facepacks covering all the leagues. This is just the tip of the iceberg, so to speak.

Right, Aston Villa facepack also completed. Struggling to find suitable pictures for many of the Villa youngsters, so at present this pack only contains 25 of the playing squad. Arsenal's contains every Arsenal player through the ranks except two of them (total 56).

What season? :erm: The computer always fucking cheats you though. They offer peanuts for your players, but expect you to pay shit-loads theirs. I'm not fussed bout Crouch mind and I think Bayern owe me a couple of million for Sissoko after 24 months, so meh.

I have a Crewe game and a United game. Started the United one mainly due to so many players refusing me at Crewe or that absolutely no one managed to obtain a work permit when required to :/

Summer '08, both to Juventus- Sissoko £16.5m and Crouch £16.75m. Liverpool replaced them with Moutinho and Owen at a profit.

Chairman of the board green-lit a deal of 11m for Diego Capel, was furious as he is one of my better wingers. Cheers for the facepacks Nifty, the cut-outs that are in the game looks ridiculous.

A further update on the facepack situation. Five Premiership teams included in this update, those being:

Arsenal - 56 photos
Aston Villa - 25 photos
Birmingham City - 34 photos
Blackburn Rovers - 64 photos
Bolton Wanderers - 34 photos

At present, these only include playing staff (I took this as a priority for creation). Once I've made some real progress compiling a few leagues, I'll fill in the staff and release them in a few packs.

Obviously there are gaps, in the cases where I simply could not find a suitable picture of the player (I don't think it's worth including really low-res graphics, I'd sooner have no graphic!). I will work on releasing a pack to "fill in the gaps" once the entire league has been done.

I'm going to continue working on the packs throughout today, and by tomorrow we should have an entire Premiership pack.

Please do leave me some feedback, anyone who uses them/doesn't like the look of them/whatever.
