Agreed..

Personally, I think PES used to be great, but mostly because of the time. I mean, PES was the 1st Football Sim (that I know off) to offer many Stats and Control options, it was the Football Sim that set the standards in the PS2.

But the problem with the Series is that after PES5 it never really "evolved" -- "pick up and play" games Peak Early. Which is the problem with PES. Because I think that PES09 is a poor effort, plain and simple.

But I also do not think much of PES6 nowadays, it's like I got bored of the same thing, I know all the flaws and I know how much better it could be. So I'm just waiting to see the Gameplay Evolve, if it ever does.

Fact of the matter is that PES09 turned an Outdated game and made it feel even more out of date. PES09 is easier and more straightforward than either PES5 or PES6. This for me is unacceptable, PES needs to grow up and use everything that a Next Gen Console has to offer.

Well if i say the truth.. I dont know if you remember how PES used to come out, but sometimes we waited for 3 years before the engine was where it should be and they come with the new game.. I remember that Fifa was looking better too, then pes came up after few years with better graphics than concuration.. When Seabass set that they will change name from pes 7 to 2008 and that engine will be different too, I knew, that it will take two-three years at least, to produce diamond.. The think is, that if people aren't happy with the evolution which Seabass showing to us, than just don't buy it, and wait for 3-4 years to see the ressult.. But name of the game is pro evolution soccer and if u think that PES09 turned an Outdated game and made it feel even more out of date, than take dvd of PES 08, put it in the Pc or Ps3 or 360, play it for 10 mins, change it for PES 2009 and here you go.. It is so massive difference. The Difference between this year game and the one from last year is biggest improvment seabass and his team ever made in the way how the previous version looked with the new version and they also managed in just one year..

The only Update is in the Graphics.. If PES6 had the same graphics as PES09, it would play and look a lot more fresher.

But yeah, fact remains that if you play PES6 you will notice how bad the Graphics used to be. But the Gameplay quality was definitively better, fluid movements, intuitive dribbling controls, realistic play.

The game was ruined by the incredible long range goals that one could easily score, and the cut-back goals. Had Konami fixed that the game would be very good.

As for PES09, I've said more than enough, bottom line is that I think it's boring and dull, a waste of time.

But at least some people get a kick out of it.

The thing that troubles me about PES2009 is really the fact that I have more fun playing PES6 ( xbox360 ). I find myself wishing that pes6 had the same updated teams and graphics and edit mode and all those other features..

But Amateur said it right, the game is not SHITE but it is not football....it's something else.

And also, Jenicek68, I made the same observation as you did regarding the development of PES2009. It is the most "different" version then the previous one out of any PES game before. But that doesn't make it good. I have faith for 2010 but 2009 is not quite there.

For someone it might doesn´t make it good game, but for some it does.. At this moment it is best footy game.. I was playin Fifa now again, (lent my PES to my Brother), and i have to still say, that Fifa looks great, but once you are in front of Goal, Pes Rullezz. I dont like the way you cannot drible over players and the reaction in Fifa is way too slow.. Though passing system is nice, but that is something, what can PES reach in one year.. I feel realy satisfy with PES 09, it is step in right direction and i belive that PES 2010 will be back in top form..

I agree with that, that is WHY I think PES is still better than FIFA. In FIFA, once you are in front of goal -- it is lacking a lot of excitement and intensity. In this respect PES has always been far ahead, including PES09.

In the shortest possible way I can put it -- PES09 is Tactical in Intent, but Arcade-Like in the "Execution".

Which is good, because if Konami can manage to change the execution from "arcade-like" to "simulation-like" -the- game will be much better. But they must maintain that responsiveness which is essential to PES.

I wasn't expecting much from PES 2010, and I'm still not expecting much. But I have to admit that after playing PES09 a bit more -- I'm feeling intrigued by PES 2010.

My english is not very good.
So i found this on the web that's similiar to what
i want them to add to pes 2010.

We all have big rivals in PES!Brothers, cousins, friends…It would be great to add something like profile! Then when you need to set controls before game you also set your profile and you will have statistics how many games you played against each opponent,win-draw-lose statistics, goals scored, possesion and all other great statistic details. If they add that than you dont need to argue with your mates over who have more wins, goals…

- Gameplay needs to be slowed down, it still has an arcade feel to it.
- Player animations need to be improved and the way they interact with other players and the ball would take the game even further to being the simulation it needs to be
- Shooting is unrealstic, not rewarding and to easy. The shot should depend on how the player interacts with the ball at that time.
- Manual passing should be on both the analogue and x button so there is a power bar no matter what. Again this would make the game more of a simulation.

There are many more i could think of but these are some that stand out.

Honestly, the one thing that PES got outdone in 09 by Fifa was online play. I don't know if you guys tried Fifa's online play, but it is so much better than PES. PES got boring due to that. Don't get me wrong, I still like PES's gameplay more but you start to get tired of playing against computers. All of the fun is in online play where you can test your skill against real players and get ranked. So all I ask for future PES is better online play!!!

If we can keep this thread soley about making constructive opinions on how to improve the PES experience then I'd like to think Seabass' cohorts might actually take something from it. Eliminate the bickering and we could have a decent thread here worthy of a sticky.

First and foremost, above and beyond all other things is Online Play. It can't have escaped Konami's notice (if indeed they are checking this forum) that there are PES gamers out there reverting to previous versions of the game, just to enjoy a game online. Unacceptable and embarrasing to take such large steps back in this department on "next gen" systems.

As for gameplay mechanics, every version of ISS/PES has brought something different to the table, forcing players to learn to the play the game again before really settling with it. Long may this continue - yes there are always improvements that can be made, but you can't please all the people, all the time. There have been some good suggestions already made in the forum (and in this thread) on improvements to movement (particularly OFF the ball), animations etc. so I don't feel I need to add to them.

I for one would like to congratulate Konami on BAL. It's by no means perfect, but it is a fresh and welcome addition to the PES experience and I know there are many out there that agree. I'd like to make some suggestions for improvements here (other than team AI which really falls under gameplay mechanics for the game as a whole).

I'd like to see the re-introduction of the training games that were once a part of the game to be used in conjunction with the BAL experience as part of a reward system. The opportunity to earn stat boosts, skills (such as one-on-one, tactical dribbling etc) by performing at a high level in these mini-games. The ability to craft a more specific player, such as a free-kick specialist, would add an extra dimension to BAL without being difficult to implement - given the training template has already been executed pretty well in previous titles. Perhaps even the ability to earn additional strengthen bars for exemplary performances in the tasks. You could expand further on this idea by providing a platform to share your achievements with the wider PES community online for added competitve incentive.

That's my pennies worth (5 cents for our american friends - who by the way seem to be getting the rough end of the stick when it comes to updates etc. No need for this Konami - what is available to one should be available to all.)

I can already see, that some people just cannot accept PES how it is in general.. So before you guys write something here, think about the PES as it is, no-one will redo whole engine and so.. If you got some things, then they must be easy to make.. Little advices, which can make big different.. But If is PES 09 really so unsatisfaing then go for FIFA as you already are.. :)

Different pitch sizes for each pitch would make "every game feel different" as some people have pointed out needs looking at.

yeah certainly man. If this thread keeps going, Konami will no doubt look at it assuming that they will keep their word and take a look at the website.

You made good points too and yeh you are right about the american gamers ( I reside in the usa as well ). It makes no sense at all not to have the updates....it's online so it should be available to everyone from the get-go.

they need to get people on who actually play / understand the game

you can watch as many games as you like but unless you play it you dont understand all the little things that are needed in the game
