I just bought my pes2011 and played one game. This old question pops into my mind again: what is the real difference between the d-pad and the joystick?
I started playing PES in 2001. At that time, you had to use the D-pad, because there were things you could not do without it. For example, to do a low free kick shot, press down on D-pad, and press the shoot button. This could not be done with the joystick. Another example, to sprint, press R1 and double press the D-pad towards the running direction. Again, you couldn't do this with the joystick.
Now comes my question, to folks who are experts in the new pes2011: did Konami remove these functional differences between the D-pad and joystick now? Can I sprint with the joystick? How can I do a low freekick shot? I ask because I feel that Konami has deliberately designed the new version to be played using the joystick. Passing, for example, is way more fluent and precise with the joystick.
