Graphics

Wot does everyone think of the graphics in PES3?

I think that they have got worse, a mean the detail is brilliant but the overall presentation (like the match view) is preety poor.

Well, depends what you are comparing PES3 to! If you compare it to PC version, sure it's worse. But if you play your PS2 on s-video or component you should not complain. It's 100% better than PES2 in EVERY WAY.

I'm satisfied with the graphics totally, don't know about the rest of the PESinsight team.
But, of course it can be better, it can always be better :)

Cheers.

I've got no problem with the look of the graphics, but some of the physics are crap.

The number of times the ball goes through a foot, or hits the back of a leg but somehow manages to go forward is so annoying, especially when you position your player to make a goal-line clearence and the ball goes clean through his boot.

the ''through the boot thingy'' hardly happens so stop making it seem as if it is a daily routine for any pes3 gamer!!!!!!

the graphics are top-class but a little improvement on the surroundings wouldn't hurt!!!

i'm just dreaming how pes/we would look like on the PS3 WOW!!!!!! :p

to me pes1 on ps2 LOOKS better then pes3, I think they really need to work on the graphics, after all, graphics+licenses = sales, just look at fifa

I think you got it wrong mate, TOTALLY.

Those words can come only from a FIFA fan or EA Sports in general.

The formula should be GAMEPLAY + Licences = sales

Graphics are totally alright like they are, few improvements and there you go.

PES or WE are best football simulations because of GAMEPLAY not graphics...

By the way, PES1 graphics can't even compare to WE7/PES3.

You probably play with regular composite cables, that's why.

Little bit off topic, but yesterday i try playing PES1, just for the heck of it, and was ..ehm.. interesting experience. It's almost imposible comparing it to WE7/Pes3 in any way. After 10 minutes i arrive at a conclusion it is unplayable ..ehehe :) Of course, graphic of WE7/Pes3 is way better :)

The graphics have improved since previous versions but can still come on a long way, for a football sim it should look like a real match but it still looks a bit arcade-like(gaudy colours, stadiums and fans an afterthought etc)
Not trying to promote EA or anything but look at any of the Madden games: facial expressions, blinking eyes and actually looks like a real match
I think if Konami can produce a game that plays as well as PES3 does surely they can aim a little higher in the graphics area aswell

The graphical detail on pes3 is better than on the previous versions but i think they could do with a bit more polish. Konami didn't use renderware to desgin the graphics engine in pes3 and instead designed their own graphics engine which explains the big difference between the graphics on pes3 and those in pes1 and pes2.

Anyway, could anyone help me then 2 improve the graphics then?

I currently use the scart connector with the red, white and red plugs plugged in, and run the game at 50hz.

But i have tried the 60hz but i seem 2 get no colour!!!

:)

yeah, i had that problem too mate. i think its your tv thats too old or something. mine is.

playing old games seems really difficult. you get used to new features but you take them for granted and when u play an old game its weird.

i think pes graphics are ahead of fifa in many ways! fifa looks good cos of the licened stuff and it looks smooth but in my opinon more cartoon-like than pes3.

I could have this totally wrong but I think this is right:

50 hz = PAL
60 hz = NTSC

I don't think it's anything to do with your T.V. you just need a proper SCART cable to connect your PS2 to your TV, then it will run at 60 hz in full colour :)

That's correct larsson.

You guys need RGB scart cable, or new TV :) that is PAL/NTSC compatabile. Usually it's written in the back of your TV, or it just says 50/60Hz.

I play it at 60Hz, and don't know why it seems "better" to me, or I got used to it...

There´s a difference in graphics between using a scart cable or a RGB cable, I´ve tested it today with WE7. I´ve a function in my RGB cable which allows me to switch between RGB and normal mode, and especially in the menus, but also in the game you can see the difference.

sure you do mate, since RGB has "extra" two pins.
