"By all means we'll only do things [through downloads] that really serve the game. Simply pulling 5 dollars out of someone's pocket - that's too cheesy for me."
-Dan Houser, Vice President of Rockstar Games
* There will be several different animation sets for breaking into a car, so far we know one of them includes Niko breaking the glass of the window with his elbow, then starting the car using the injection cables. We know there probably isn't a lot of different other ways Niko can do this, but we suspect it will involve dynamic animations, and for instance Niko sometimes becoming suspicious in the middle of hotwiring a car, looking around to see if anyone suspects what he's doing, then continuing. Rockstar previously said they want the animations to look less "canned", so this would fit well with that goal.
Thanks very much for the info, I did read it on GTAForums but the poster was German and his english wasnt great.
Thats all good, but it sounds like a long process, im not sure everyone would want to take 5 or 10 seconds, possibly longer, just to jack a car. GTA SA's and its predecessors' methods (climb in or open door) were much quicker and having to hotwire a car (although realisitc) would eventually just get on your nerves if say you were in a hurry to get away. They must have alternative methods.
Niko will have access to a wardrobe in his flat - it is not clear whether this will be on the scale of what we had in San Andreas, or more like what we saw in Liberty and Vice City Stories.
when is it out??
having it like that just makes the game even more relistic
But dont you think realism goes too far sometimes just for a video game? Think of everthing else that is essential in real life and stick it into a game, boring, no? Im sure many people wouldnt want to do everyday activities in a game like this when we all know crime is the focus point and not showering, taking shits etc.
Issue #153 of PLAY, the UK publication we reported on last month because of a printing error with the IV logo is now out. The 5 page preview provides a couple of interesting tidbits, in what is otherwise full of information we already know about.
* Niko's cousin Roman is thousands of dollars in debt
* Niko's mobile phone has the ability to receive text messages and also has a camera which you can take pictures with.
* In next month's issue (available on 14th June 2007) PLAY will feature an exclusive preview of the game which they are hyping up quite a bit
