Guide to Making your PES3 DVD into a CD for patching

Try to burn a clean image. Do it onto a decent quality CDR at the slowest speed possible. What program are you using to burn?

Also, not sure if I asked you this already, but open the cue using Notepad and show us what it says. I posted what it should say in another thread.
It should be like:

FILE "Patchable PES3DVDRIP.bin" BINARY
TRACK 01 MODE2/2352
INDEX 01 00:00:00
where "Patchable PES3DVDRIP.bin" has to exactly match what your bin is named.

It's much simpler with the Wizard.

First make sure you know which is the cue and which is the bin file in your PES3 CDrip folder. You can use the "Hide extensions for known file types" option in Tools - Folder Options to change this. Having them shown makes it easier.

Open Nero.
Click on the Nero Express button.
Click on Disk Image or Saved Project.
In the bar for Files Of Type, click the arrow so it selects All Files (*.*)
Then select your cue file form the correct folder. Click Open.
Set the speed to slowest, insert CD and burn. Best to make sure no other problems are running when burning. I just use the wizard, Express method as it's quicker for me.

Many people have problems with Nero, if it works for you then it´s ok, but normally you should use CDRWin or Fireburner as bin files are created for those tools, Nero is for nrg images.

I have burnt over 30 (bin/cue folder) files with Nero using the Wizard and Express modes. No problems for me. Each person should use what they have or can get.
Good luck to all.

Right, I have checked the cue file and it says exactly what your example says.

I have scanned the unpatched image with cdmage, found no errors, and have now burnt the clean image to a cdr to test at home.

90% of people with problems in patching are using Nero, that´s here the same like on evo-web or in our German forum. Forget about Nero if you´re patching. If it works for you then it´s ok, but Nero is NOT made for burning bin images, it´s only an additional option there. I´m using it sometimes and it also works for me, but I would never recommend a person who is new to patching to use Nero.

Zyg, that is the method I've been using to burn.

Larsson,

Unfortunatley, at the moment, I only have nero as an option, Is it possible to get either of these other programme's for free as a sample?

I think they´re all not for free, but you can get free trial versions if you search a little bit in Google. I don´t have any links to trial versions at the moment.
In fact you´ve a strange problem there and I cannot guarantee that it´s going to work with the other tools but we have to try everything :)
It happens not very often that you have so much errors in the image that CDMage cannot repair all. Maybe it would be helpful to give us a list of all patches you´ve applied so far without success. There are 3 big jb patches out there when I remember correctly. You have the 5.1., the 1.12. with the update and the 22.11. monster with the update. You should try all of them first.

I tried 22.10.03 monster, then I tried this with the update to 1.12.03.

I then was on holiday for a month and came back to find new patches in the form of 1.12.03 and then 1.12.03 to 8.1.04 update.

The best I have managed to do is to get the euro 2004 title screen and that was with the jb22.10.03 monster.

They were all downloaded from lomungtung. I missed out on the 5.1.04 mega patch because by the time I came back from holiday the link wasn't working and for some reason it's not on lomungtung.

Oh, none of the patches were corrupted when they arrived either, I've seen that some people have had this problem.

So have you tried the 5.1. or not ? Because your answer was a little bit ambiguous, on the previous page Zyg asked if you have used the 5.1. and your answer was "I´ve tried that".
If you haven´t then go for it. If this does not work then take higher quality CDRs, eg Verbatim, there are some PS2 models which are pretentious when it comes to CDRs. And try to get a trial version of CDRWin or Fireburner, I´ve seen a version of CDRWin on lomungtung, you´ll find it surely if you search few minutes. Hope this helps. If not then I´m helpless.

Sorry,

I meant I haven't used the 5.1.04 stand alone patch, as I've not been able to find it to download it.

When I said I've tried that, I meant using just one stand alone patch, without update, in this case it was jb22.10.03 monster, and 1.12.03.

I have used the update from 1.12.04 to 08.01.04.

As for the datasafe media I'm using, I have other games burnt onto these disks that work fine. I do have some Mirror media.

ah, ok, I understand. Even if the CDRs you´re currently using work with other games I would recommend Verbatim CDRs. Like I said before, you have to try everything. Because if you´re following all instructions properly and it´s still not working then I suggest that there is something wrong with the material you´re working with.
Regarding the 5.1. patch, it´s quite easy to find, it´s in the "5.1.04" folder in the PES3 patches area.
5.1.04

You wouldn't believe the amount of times I've looked for that damn patch.

I'm downloading it now, Thanks for your help Larsson.

As it's Friday, we will reconvene this tutoring session on Monday if that's ok with you.

I have finally found a SLES.519 file already scanned, Hooray!

But my joy is short lived in step13), I go to open my 'soccer3.iso' in cdmage and it says: 'File doesn't match sector boundary' so it won't open.

My 'soccer iso' files size is 738,786,319, is this right? it says it should be 613mb.

If not can you tell me what I am doing wrong?

Getting there, just need help on this point and hopefully enjoy the splendor of patched pes3.

Soccer iso should have about 600 mb if you follow the guide exactly. It won´t have 700 mb if you do what the guide says ;)

right then, I thought I had made a rip of dvd.

I burnt it it cd without adding patches (as zyg says) so to test if I have done it right.

Whenn I load it on ps2 it says 'insert a ps2 formatted disk' (or something like that) with the red screen.

I put my copied cd back into my pc to check if it had all the files on it but it is missing the 'DNAS271.img' file. THis is puzzling as it was in the file when I created the soccer3.iso(I downloaded it and put it in), but somewhere along the way this file has run away.

Can you tell me why this is? and if this would effect the cd loading in my ps2?.
