Plus the PES4 patch you want to use - such as the jonboyo one found here.
===============================

2. Create an ISO from your original PES4 dvd game using dvd decrypter or other ripping program.

a) Put your Original PES4 dvd in your PC dvd drive
b) Open DVDDecrypter, go to MODE /ISO / Read
c) Choose your destination folder eg origPES4
d) Press the go button (dvd->Harddrive symbol)

(pic thanks to jag87)

This gives you your original ISO.

3.
a) Use Isobuster to open this ISO and extract all the files from the ISO to a new folder (eg (c:\PES4DVD).
(Do this by highlighting all of the files in the right side of the screen and then right click and choose EXTRACT).

4.
a)Uncompress your KF rip kit rar to give you a folder of files.
b)Copy all of these files and paste into the previously created folder (c:\PES4DVD)

5.
a) Run the PES_4_PAL_Rip_Engine.exe file located in this c:\PES4DVD folder.
This opens a DOS window and converts files. This takes a few minutes so wait.

Ignore the
"Error: could not open IOP\IOPRP300.txt"
message.
Wait and you know have a new ISO file in this folder. This is your RIPKIT ISO.

6.
a) Patch the original ISO (from step 2) with your patch(es) using ppf-o-matic3.
Example - open ppf-o-matic3 and select the original ISO and then the main jonboyo patch (15-Oct) and patch it (takes more than a minute).
Then select the same ISO (original) and patch it again with the new update (20-Oct). This is an example of a simple patch where you just apply to the ISO. Some patches may be more complex so check the thread of each patch to read the patching instructions. Mostly you will just need to apply the patch to your clean original ISO using ppf-o-matic3.

7.
a) Use Apache2 to Export the file e_text.afs and then the larger file o_text.afs from the patched ISO. These will be saved to your hard disk in the location of your choice, eg C:\PES4TEXT.

8.
a) Use Apache2 to Import the e_text.afs and o_text.afs into the ripkit iso using the Replace option.

Do this by opening the ripkit ISO in Apache2. In the window on the right, right click on the e_text.afs and then click on Replace.
A window opens and you have to locate and select the e_text.afs you saved in the C:\PES4TEXT folder.
Then replace the o_text.afs using the same method.

9.
a) Open CDmage. Open the ripkit ISO as mode1/2048.

b) Click File.. Save As.. and change the mode to mode2/2352

This will give you a .bin and .cue with the bin being about 825MB in size.
Yes you can burn this onto any standard 700MB CDR - just be sure to use the Burn Image (or Burn As Image) option in your burning software (Nero etc). Do not burn as data.

This is your patched CD-image. You may now delete everything created in this process except your bin and cue files.
I tend to defragment my hard disk at this point but it's up to you.
Open Nero and select Burn Image. Select the .cue file and set the speed to the slowest possible. Shut down all other programs and burn your image.
When it's burnt, play your patched CD on a chipped or modded (flip top lid / slide card / knife trick) PS2.

Enjoy the game!

The method above worked for me and I have played my CD version of jonboyo's 20th Oct patch for PES4. If you have any problems, be specific about which step you were trying and what exactly happened. And if you have to, quote the exact part of the guide you have problems with, not this whole first post.

I will update and correct this guide as much as possible. This was done from memory and I will come back to it later and add the sizes of the files involved. Music in the patched version is the same as the original game so that part needs updating - if you know how to update the sound in the CD-rip then let us know.

Your original ISO is now patched and you will have to delete it and start again with a clean ISO from your original PES4 DVD. This does not take too long but if you prefer you can keep a clean original ISO on your hard disk and patch a copy of it but then there will be an extra ISO on your machine and you might get mixed up. Good luck.

To just patch an ISO of your original PES4 DVD, follow steps 2 and 6 and then burn onto DVDR.

Where do i get those files :S? and where did the C:\PES4TEXT folder come out of?

You quoted number 8 but left out the number. Leave the number in to make it easier for people to help you - the points were numbered for a reason.

3. a) Use Isobuster to open this ISO and extract all the files from the ISO to a new folder (eg (c:\PES4DVD).
You make a new folder and name it that - use the extract option to put the files mentioned into there.

Read number 7 to see where to get these files from => from the ISO that you just patched.

Gave it a go last night and it works a treat, just bought a DVD burner 2 days ago but my PS2 which was bought the first day they were launched has a pretty weak laser and won't read burnt DVD's so this was perfect, good stuff!

un-nicked - yes you need to be able to read your original PES4 DVD first and use DVD Dycrypter to make the image in the first place.

LALALA - thank you.

Hmmm......after reading your guide, it would seem that I will NEVER patch my game. Knowing my skill at this sort of stuff I'd most likely, give my computer a virus, explode my computer screen causing my hair to catch fire, burn the PES4 disc (not burn in a good way) then kick my computer to death in anger. Yes I am that bad!

Yes this guide does seem a bit long-winded. But if you have a DVD-writer then check the DVD patching guide as it is FAR FAR simpler to do it that way. And anyone with a DVD writer will be able to do it then :)

I finished patching the game. Followed every step.
Patch the JB15.10.04, 15to20 and 20to24.
There was the Playstation 2 sign but then it goes to the ps2 memory card browser.

A bit vague there Y2K. Did you follow all of the other steps too or did you just patch and burn? Trying to burn to CD or DVD? More info required.

Has anyone managed to get this working with a swap magic disk, or do I need to have a chipped playstation to get it to work? I have created a clean backup without any problems until I actually try and start it?
