Thats the reply i was looking for lads well said & well spotted maka, this is a prime example of what most of the true pro evo players have turned into scum "Sad Cunts Using Messi" did u know what happened the other day i was playing 2v2 pro evo 2009 with a true pro evo player that had enough, the opposition decided to run all the way with messi "They were barca" we were in the lead by 3 goals to 2 then my partner scored a belter with scholes and screamed down the mic saying "GOAALLLLL HAVE THAT U DIRTY BARCA C**Ts YESSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" i almost shed a tear it made me proud seeing someone who stepped up to these pro evo traitors, and made them see what real pro evo feels like.

It sounds to me like you're all a bit upset that you can't defend against the better players out there.

Perhaps whilst you were developing and honing your skills throughout the Pro Evolution Soccer series, you should've put more effort into defensive abilities than simply uploading your "Amazing dribble goal - Check it out!" videos.

I'm not the most committed of PES players, but when me and my mates get together and play for a while, those who are only capable of going on dazzling runs always end up getting beat over the course of an evening. The genuinely "better" players end up winning.

For example, I remember some time ago playing against someone who was able, against everyone else in our university halls, dribble past entire back fours with players like Ronaldo and Ronaldinho for Brazil. Against me, one well-timed tackle from a decent centre-back or back-tracking midfielder and his attack plan fizzled out.

Considering I'd go up the other end and bag two out of three chances, the number of times I'd beat him 2-1 or similar far outweighed the times he "dazzled" me with his stars.

The moral of this story? If you can't defend against these players, you're not as good as you think you are.

well it always nice when u outclass barca, brazil ,inter etc muppits. But the sad thing is playing football is most likely beaten by the runners n other dark arts of pes:( but getting beat by these guys doesnt bover asmuch anymore, unlike pes 2008 where i used 2 get all worked up :realmad: n get through many a control pads:erm:

hows that i regular beat these guys but thts not the point ,you r kidding yourself if u think everythings fine  the point is you get punished for playing football .sure i could pick barca etc n run round the goalkeeper all the time, but its for loosers and it just turns the game in2 the most arcadey football game.but u sumtimes come across guys very very rarely who play football n it reminds u y this game is so beautiful win or lose .

This is pro evo 2009 im talking about on next-gen consoles its more or less impossible to defend against messi without getting sent off, im not bothered about how better they are or not, im simply trying to say barca & messi is a cheap way to win the game wouldnt u agree, ? i mean i dont mind getting beaten now & then, the other day i was beaten by a guy who was real zaragoza his one of the 3 people that have not been barca and have beaten me and i've lost 23 times

Well said Nifty. If all of the complainers defend like that then they would lose to many opposition, not just Messi. Just improve your defending and you'll be alright against Messi. Don't even give me crap about red cards I heard so much of that already. In the short time that I played the game I've done about 100 slides, only 2 resulted in red. At 1st glance I thought it was injustice but looking at the replay I fully deserved it. Only about half of those slides resulted in yellows for being slightly mistimed. Practice makes perfect. Then everytime those nubs try to go on a solo run just show him who's boss and eventually you'll make them cry cuz Messi will come off on a stretcher with nothing more than a warning from the ref.

U seem to know alot about good pro evo defending u tell me how to slide messi giving him a injury without getting a red card.

pes2009 is not suited to people who like to pass and keep possesion. as eventually one of your passes fucks up through no fault of yours as, players get in each others way, movement from your players is poor, your player miss controls it, pass is played in favour of oppostion interception, your player is slow with reaction to the ball, or your player takes ages to move the ball on. all this means sometimes it's better just to run with the ball to score. i try to pass around and keep possession but i lose to people who string 3 passes max together in a single sequence. you need well time tackles to beat these people, but even then i get sent off for them. i've played alot of passers, and the game usually is filled with mistakes till someone gets it right and gains the upperhand. i pass a lot but to be honest it does me no justice, amd i notice the people who have high ratings are also those who just run alot with teams like man utd and barca.

Snap him after he's passed the ball, works a treat.

The worse one for me is Ibrahimovic. Played some fool last night , he just passed it to him and let him do all the work. I came out on top though, beat his ass.

No.

I have used Sunderland a couple of times against my friends who've used better teams, once I played against Barcelona and I lost. But, I didn't lose by a ridiculously high (goal) margin. (I lost by a single goal)

I could handle Messi and he went past my defence only a couple of times.

What you have said is fallacious. My comment would have remained the same even if at this moment in time, I were not able to defend properly.

U seem to know alot about good pro evo defending u tell me how to slide messi giving him a injury without getting a red card.

I'd have suggested you to practice defending, practice defending and yet again, practice defending when playing against the computer on top player difficulty but you seem obsessed with Messi, so...

My advice is to study the way both the computer and players online (in general - yeah, I'm talking about how the mass) use him as a player. You'll surely find a trend in the way he is used.

I'll let you figure out a way to counter him. Good luck!

Slide from the front geez. You'll be fine most of the time, even if you mistimed it most likely there'll be no booking if you come from the front and if there is just a yellow. An angled slide from behind is a lot more risky and needs to be timed to perfection but practise it too. A perpendicular slide is also a little risky against players with quick feet cuz they'll knock the ball right when you slide so you'll clip their ankles and the refs don't like those  and of course we all know straight from behind is a big nono.

Just look at the video you posted. There were always 3 defenders mindlessly following him around. Surely the person could've used 1 of them to slide and if it missed he'll still have 2 defenders left. Messi wasn't running at full speed either which also allows for a better slide. Look at 15 secs in, that defender should've slid instead of running across him like a fool. If you get unlucky and get a red just hope he gets injured too. It wouldn't be the end of the world playing with 10 men, at least better than constantly letting star players walk through your defense like that.

Forgot to mention holding sprint while sliding seems to give off an ugly challenge for me but sometimes you have no choice right? And remember you don't need a harsh tackle to injure someone, as long as they fall down there's a chance for injury. I've injured plenty of players that tripped over the ball without getting booked.

Does any1 agree with me that its soooo annoying when you play online and whoever your playin against scores the same goals over and over again?? the one where they run into the box and square it past the keper and tap it into an open goal. I've played about 10 games online ( with different teams) lost 9 won 1 ( not good I know but I can't stop that shit goal) In the games I lose its normally 3-2 or 4-3 I score volleys and free kicks and top corner shots from outside the area and then they run into the box and square it past the keeper argghh soooo annoying

i played against someone who was barca last night. and yes all they did was give the ball to messi and run for it. luckily with my perfectly timed challenges and through balls slicing through his defencep i beat him 4-1 with liverpool.

Cause we are the tru best team in the game ;) i dotn know about my fellow suppourters, but when i pick liverpool i play with pride, maybe this is the same for all suppourters, but i hate to see my team loose so i try even harder to beat my opponent

Allthough i have taken a heavy shine to aston villa latley been beating a lot of chelseas and man us with them :)

That said there is nothign more satisfying than sliding from the side or behind and absolutley taking everything with you! hahah good shit man!

i beat barca with much smaller teams more than i lose but thats not the point konami have made the game to punish the true pes fans n reward the cunts using the supermen teams .

I dont think they get where we are coming from, I.N Extasy is on another planet and if tackling overrated players controlled by other users online is that easy why dont u stormrider make a video for us and post it on here, every pro evo player has a different way of playing there not all the same u know.

im sorry but when messi turns 45 degrees one way then 45 degrees the next no matter how quick you tackle are even if you stand off you have little hope of stopping him
