Freestyleh7, I believe I made myself clear enough earlier. I mentioned the words, 'In general' and 'the mass'. People who are in the formerly mentioned categories will usually have similarities in their playing styles.
I did not say that they will make the exact moves. o_O

Try to find different ways to neutralising Messi on your own. Where's the fun in playing the game if you are going to do only whatever you're told to and have your little world revolve around the so called overrated Messi?

Tip:
Don't focus on him and have all your defenders on him all the time. Just have a single player mark him. Keep your eyes open for his next pass/move and try intercept it!

Seeing as messi is better then ronaldo in pro evo i consider that overrated, and to be honest u have to focus on him because 80% of the time the opposition get the ball they will use messi and go on a little sprint from the halfway line towards my goal, i'm sorry but u cannot stop messi twisting & turning through defences its either u foul him or just hope he runs in a straight line and one of your defenders can catch up with him, but i appreciate the tips and everything but u guys are thinking "its easy to stop messi if u just do this" when its not, but the using the all & mighty messi tactic isnt the only thing of what i'm trying to say

the thing is if someone is exceptionally good at dribbling with messi, you can't stop him without fouling.even if you ain't suckered by his movement, the cpu AL will be. the AL usually interferes and makes a tackle for me or jus runs out the way and let ihm through, or jus stands still. you have to stop messi early or it's over.

Maybe this has been brought up previously, but has anyone tried changing any of the formation/marking settings? Maybe assigning a good Sweeper to man mark him with the max defensive arrow?

Try diversify and experiment with your own game - as in your playing style.

I've drawn 0-0 with Barcelona and later on, won on penalties (4-2), using Portsmouth. It was a five minute game, on top player, where I made 57/64 of my passes, intercepted 10 passes from the opposition and committed only 2 fouls.

Messi couldn't do much. Barely any of his crosses would make his team mate. He seemed to be cutting in a lot, if that may help you in any way! To be fair, ball possession on my side was of an average of 58%. So Messi, didn't get the ball as much as you'd want him to. (let alone get the ball in good positions!)

I did that and I wasn't even trying. This means, that with practice, you can do the same if not better.

(hopefully!)

I dont think they get where we are coming from, I.N Extasy is on another planet and if tackling overrated players controlled by other users online is that easy why dont u stormrider make a video for us and post it on here, every pro evo player has a different way of playing there not all the same u know.

Unfortunately I don't have that kinda free time on my hands. Whatever free time I do have I'd rather play the game than make videos. Anyways I'm done here. You guys can go on complaining about Messi all you want :chanlaugh: peace outside
