Very true....!!

but the passion and love for football of gazza was 2nd to none(he just had mental problems), and who said he was my idol, the pic was just to represent how im feeling about pes now...it went so far but now goes out in shame....

i really did give pes2009 a good go and at times thought is was good, but now i have got the hang of fifa(without pes hands) i cant get enough of it (pes is collecting dust) the gameplay is so realistic it amazes me..yeah there are flaws and faults but not even half as much as pes.. i lost 2-0 to my friend last night online Spain vs England it was unbelievable the best football i have ever played without doubt..

i know there are different opinions about how football computer games should play, but for me as i try to play and make the same decisions as close to REAL LIFE football as possible fifa09 wins hands down..

i feel a bit like a judas, but the roles have reversed fifa takes top spot for realistic gameplay and pes for arcade action....i think some people are mixed up if they say different and its most likely down to fan mentality. for me its a computer game and not an actual football team and dont see why i should stick with it when it gets relagated...

i first joined here to try and understand where pes was going to see if people thought the same and i wasnt going mad (as i have loved pes and hated fifa for so long) i naively thought that most or all pes players played it for realistisc gamplay, but to my horror thats not true..

im not saying pes2009 is bad its just not enough anymore, not much more i can say really. ive had some great years playing pes even made some great friendships from playing it..its just not my No.1 anymore :crymore:

Pes just dosnt tweak my new third footballing nipple...!!!

it sounds like u really loved pes back in the day but pes is obiously a big problem if its losing even the beat of fans like you do u think u wil ever love it again

Sounds like you crawled into my head and wrote down my thoughts!! i couldnt agree more, ive been a member here for a long time as you can see and i think most of the "old school" love football games rather than pes. it is the newer members that seem to blindly slate fifa and defend pes. /as much as it pains me to say. . .next gen pes is poor it is a ps2 port, nothing more.

I'm in the same boat, been playing ISS/PES since 1992 when ISS fisrt appeared on the SNES. I've played:

ISS (Snes)
ISS deluxe (SNES)
ISS 64 (N64)
ISS 98 (N64)
ISS Pro (PS)
ISS Pro 98 (PS)
ISS 2 (PS2)
Pro Evo 1-2008 (PS2)
Pro Evo 2008 (PS2)
Pro Evo 2009 (PS3)

And througout these years i only had a brief run in with fifa 94 on the SNES and World Cup 98, both of which were shit compared to Konami's offerinngs. But this track record is all down to me just wanting to play the best football game, not a blind allegiance to Konami. And that's why I now play Fifa.

NEVER say NEVER, i just dont see it being probable in the near future..it could be possible, i can see it in my imagination but to get where i would be happy switching back from fifa they would need to do alot of work...

i was kind of ok with pes09 at one point sayin "it will have to do until 2010 and atleast its better than 2008" at this time i had only played fifa for a couple of weeks and not really played it right, i didnt really like fifa that much at first i couldnt stop tryin to play it like pes.. after a while of pes leaving me hungry and infuriating me with stupid shit, i stopped playing it and fully attempted to get to grips with fifa, over the last few weeks that has happend. i started fresh and just got down to trying to play real football....as i have said before its like opening a new dimension pes09 is a square and i have been playing with a cube..!

my friends have asked me for a game but i havent thought once about going back to playing pes09, the games im having on fifa09 just blow my mind sometimes..

who knows maybe pes2010 will change me back, i will be open to that and will give it a really good play, all i know from playing fifa is that it will really need to improve its gamplay...if you took all the frills of fifa like licenses and gave it to pes i would still choose fifa for its gamplay..(and thats something i thought i would NEVER say)

im now on the fifa forum and suggesting a few things they could take from pes..!!!(alot less work than tryin to go the other way)

Ohh right, didn't know your pic of Gazza reflected your thoughts on PES, clever! Yea a lot of my mates have returned to playing FIFA after years of PES, I have the odd game here and there and it does seem good but its hard to get on to it after years without it! I still have faith in PES and I know 2010 will be a huge improvement, KONAMI will deliver because they simply have to or else the PES series may be doomed!:crymore:
Anyways, happy gaming!

glad to see more and more people discovering manual passing on fifa 09 it really is a revolution with regards to simulation football. I played on manual from the start but i still feel there is so much to discover on fifa with regards to the gameplay and i am still struggling to finish in top three. Do a career on fifa with everything on manual and the difficulty on legendary, it really is a spectacular challenge. I would have to agree with muzza that for the first time in 12 or so years fifa is the game i am most anticipating although it will be interesting to see what konami come up with.

Fo sure, seabass and the gang are genius's, but i do feel they need to make some additions to the develop team to help them recapture that realism..

After seeing how konami have been in the past my hope of 2010 isnt too high, atleast they seem to be listening to fans now though..

as i said a while ago i think there is now 2 ways pes could go..!! some gamers dont want to play in the same style as a real football game, if you dont play like that in fifa it doesnt offer much for long, where as now pes can give you that simple arcade action and pick up and play.. maybe konami will be happy going back to a smaller game that corners that market..!! now that EA has some how taken the lead on realism i would be supprised they let it go.(and if they start adding a few pes things.!!)

i must confess manual shooting on fifa is soooooooo hard and iv been changing back when i play my mates..we keep manual passing but for shooting you need such acute thumb control..!!

try using the finesse shot more, manual shooting is extremely hard but there are infinite ways you can strike the ball as i am sure you are aware. I find the manual shooting so rewarding and scoring a goal should be. I still panic like a bitch and miss most one on ones against the computer but i am getting to grips with it now.

i never played FIFA, but in manual shooting you need to actualy direct your shoot?

its the key to scoring screamers, but i have only managed one so far :-(
i must of spent 10 mins running round my house after though..!!

its a great feeling scoring manually. Two player manual games are great to experiment with manual shooting as there is sometime less pressure when playing a human opponent

having never played fifa since 02 ,my m8 brought it around today for a couple of head to head matches ,and i`m not being biased towards PES ,but its not as good as PES 08 ,and no where near as good as PES 09

fifa is flowing fluent football with no feel lacks real depth espicially when it comes to shooting ,and when a corner is taken it looks like a computer game ,not to mention the response of a deisel engine when you try and sprint then theres the one dimensional passing

then theres the graphics ,the game of football looks like your playing on a peice of green card ,on PES you can instantly tell who the player is on the ball ,fifa just looks the same throughout

i cant deny however that fifa is fun but to compare the two is like saying a crow in the tree is a racing pidgeon
