yeh tbh jus seems tht thy built a pretty good brand "Pes" n nw slightly tweakin the game each year 4 pennies after pennies
i agree the game is ok, but pes is supposed to be great, best footy game by a mile
now its not
as for the gameplay speed
its the online yet again the game plays a slower pace for some reason
Right, I don't think I have made a post on here yet, I can't remember, but I just felt I need to voice some opinions.
This is absolutely ridiculous! I can't believe how Pro Evo over the last 2 - 3 years has neither rised to next gen gaming or improved on gameplay! We all know that PES2008 was average, lets be fair; and that was just the offline play...As for online gaming in PES2008 it was impossible, people would win through extreme lag and balls bounces randomly from one end of the pitch to the other. Did Kondami seriously not test this or something?, did they just think oh yeah this will work? Or did they only test it on there fibre optic connections?.....(yeah becuase everyone across europe has a 100Mbit connection don't we....)
So anyway, the true fans like us all gave them another chance. And guess what, I don't understand why, when I put my copy of PES2009 in I discover a shoddy tacky menu system and gameplay which looks identicle to 2008 with mild graphical improvements and smoother play...where was this promised rebuilding from the ground up? They haven't rebult anything, they've taken apart the old gaming engine and just upgraded it and tweaked and tuned at it bit by bit over the past year to improve replays added in some new physics and passing modules and stuck a new cover on..!?!?! I mean does anybody else think we've been cond?.
Surely if they had built from the ground up we would have seen new touches, new intro movies and cut scenes, next generation graphics, instead of these sub-gen graphcs.....from what I can see they are all the same. And frankly that's not good enough.
Millions of people complained last year about the gameplay, online play, shoddy graphics etc...Why have Seabass and Konami not sat down and said "Look, we made a big mistake last year, and now we have to sort it out becuase we ow it to the fans"? The online play this year has improved, but it's still dreadful! Players stand still when the ball is a couple of inches away from them in the box, the AI has gone downhill from last year in my opinion.
I use to love PES, but i'm finding it more of a Love Hate relationship at the moment.
Konami, it's time to pull your finger out of your asses, spend a little extra on bringing a larger team of programmers, and next year properly rebuild the game from ground up. Otherwise, I think your time is coming to end.

Agreed...it pains me o say it, I use to be a FIFa fanboy when I was little and learned the errors of my ways, I came to respect PES but now, I feel like each and evryone one of us has been ignored after our opions of PES2008..........

It does not HAVE to be, but it COULD be. It all comes down to personal preferences. I still do not find FIFA's gameplay enjoyable enough to pick it over PES.
i agree...PES for the gameplay and graphics but FIFA 4 online, realism i.e club chants and game modes.
This is just my opinion
good comment i admit fifa is slow and dribbling is crap
but the online is just a step in the right directio wer as pes has taken a sidestep
I agree, FIFA is a lot better online than PES, but I'm more of a offline player, so no problem there for me

OK look i FUCKING LOVED PES....
but 2009 is shit,
Ball is too heavy, ball gets stuck at players feet, players dont kick fast enough, stupidly fast turns at crazy angles, too much fake kickyness, stupidly easy runs with messi etc, computer holds defender,computer makes defenders run the wrong way, computer fouls and kicks ball, running through 5 players inside the box, 8 piont directional suspect with passing and shooting, computer intercepts own passes, small attackers can hold off and head ball over tall defenders, players losing the ball and being tackled by own team mate, players slow to start moving..and i think theres more but i cant remember unless playing..

YES i know its slower and a bit more tactical, more about posession and picking the right pass.. i'm winning more online than with 08, in fact im doing very well

Thats just it im doing the runs, playing 1 2's step overs and scoreing vollys from out side the box but...muuhuh im scoring goals that should be hard to score way to easy, in 08 you had to work for a good goal a good run, in 09 you dont. in 08 when i played my friends if i did something good or scored a great goal i would jump up run around with my shirt over my head ...but now muuhuh i almost feel like saying sorry!!! there is always some stupidness that goes with it...oh wow i just ran through 8 players great!!!

I never really understand why people complain so much about easy runs. Unless your playing a 10 year old online then can't you just refrain from them all together? If you think it is lame to dribble, cut in, and shoot then, well, don't do it. Imo it is wayy harder to do then it was on 08. CR7 is still a monster but I'm not going 1v11 like I did in 08.

An interesting comment from Seabass in regards to Japanes culture, how they don't share their info and each wants to get it right on there own, this may well mean that they never will really listen to its consumers and we will always be disappointed.

Sadly this is the same for me too, normally i get a buzz when playing pes but with pes2009 i just don't feel anything. To be honest i am loving fifa 09 at the moment, but still with fifa 09 the little bugs really annoy me, also while playing fifa i feel like i am cheating a little because i am not playing pes. Strange really.
i have always played pes, never been a fifa fan boy never brought fifa. just so after this i dont get the " hes just a fifa fan boy reply"
pes 2009 is useless, passing is robotic, running with the ball is like a yoyo action totally unreal. shooting is rubbish, goal keepers my god u may aswell put scholes in goal. game speed still major unrealistic. crowd chants are sooooo crap its funny. i.e " liverpool liverpool liverpool....hahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. online is average but still not as good as pes 6 was. also u can only turn in 90 diagree angles, that is so unrealistic. basicly this years pes is bad. only have to read any official review to back up what im saying. offical xbox magazine gave it a crap 7 out of 10. honestly only the most blind and tunnel visioned of pes fans can actually like this pile of turd. this time next year ull all be slating pes 2009 saying all the things ive said. I have played fifa 09 and actually i loved it, prob the best footie game ive played on my 360, so this year i will be playing fifa....konami pul ya finger out if your ass and ,make a real pes game.
