When did I say anything about animations? FIFA does not look as solid as PES. Yes, FIFA has flashy animations but they're all preset. They're not reactive. FIFA, nor PES have it down but that's my point, I don't care about aesthetics.
The player models look far better in PES than FIFA but in terms of flashyness etc, FIFA has always had that over PES. This is why this is a PES fan site. I don't think there's many PES players that don't admire some things that FIFA has, but they're not important to them.
I want the 'game' to improve. I bought FIFA from about 94-97 (which was awful - indoor mode). Then I bought the RTWC, which was good but after that nothing has come close in gameplay terms to PES. I'm agreeing with you on your points but you say you give a balanced view, but you haven't actually made a positive comment on PES. You don't give an objective viewpoint at all. I would say if you want a football simulation game, get FIFA. If you want a football game, get PES. Nothing has changed, PES still has the gameplay edge over FIFA and true PES fans still know that.
If you like FIFA or PES it doesn't matter. FIFA has always been about pick up and play, but PES isnt about that, hence the mass of ridiculous negative comments. If you don't like it, put it back. Personally, whilst I think there's some great ideas with FIFA, the gameplay is crap. PES is far from perfect (even though you're not going to tell me I think it is) but it's still a better game than FIFA

i have played ALOT(maybe too much) of pes its a fantastic PS2 game my favorite inFACT.. the days i wasted, the joy it gave scoreing a good goal the passion i had, they have all been dampened.. just making the graphic updates and tweeks is not enough..
PES2009 is a sheep(ps2) in a wolfs clothing(ps3)
fifa is a wolf...just not a great one....

Pfff... What you don't seem to understand is that I don't care if FIFA has "good" points, I'm not doubting it does. But it has allot more "bad" points than PES.
I have tried FIFA, and its not for me as I've said many times, but do I go on the EA forums and pit PES against FIFA? No. I'm here discussing PES because I like it. I'm not sucking Konami's ass, nor am I'm sticking up for the game. PES09 has been out for 5 minutes and people are making assumptions already... I gave up years ago crying when a game doesn't have this or doesn't have that. Because I know it doesn't get me anywhere...
Maybe some people here should do the same?

Fifa is far from pick up and play anymore though. I consider myself pretty damn good at Pro Evo, and Fifa is giving me a real challenge, trying to beat the comp on the hardest setting. You have to really be on your game. If you want to take somebody on you have to do alot more than you do in Pro Evo.

But it says if you don't like PES or hate PES. It doesn't say, "Find something bad about PES then compare it to FIFA" does it? Because that's all that's been going on in here....

I think the reason people are banging on about FIFA so much is because it's having false accusations thrown at it. I completely understand people dismissing it as still being shit, because for years and years it was. But i challenge anybody who is decent at football games to put in a good week's worth of effort on it and still come away with that opinion. I never thought i'd be playing FIFA, and it kind of saddens me that i am, but it's good so i'll carry on playing it alongside Pro Evo.

I understand where you're coming from. Overall, i think i'll be playing Pro Evo more than Fifa, especially if the online turns out good. The reason i bought Fifa was for the online modes, because i've moved to the USA and i have no friends here who like Football and will want to come around my house and bosh some multiplayer. Like you, i just wish Pro Evo had the same online features and performance as Fifa, because 10v10 online on Pro Evo would be worthy of multiple ejacs in my pants. I used to play 8 player fix mode on pro evo on the PS2, with the CPU just controlling the centre backs and goalkeeper, and we had a formiddable team. The thought of doing a similar thing on Fifa excited me alot, so i went for the purchase. Now i'm learning that it is a good game in any mode, and in many ways plays more like a real game of football than Pro Evo. At the same time, in many ways it is still inferior to Pro Evo, mainly due to the fact that you feel not 100 percent in control of what's going to happen in certain situations.
My conclusion is that i'll join a good club on Fifa for a good 10v10 experience, and probably play Pro Evo for all other modes.

hit the spot there...i now have both games and when one pisses me off so much i go to the other..(makes it hard to get great on fiffa but i will get there)
look both games are 'OK', maybe at the start i was being harsh saying pes2009 was shit it has +'s and -'s from last year
