i like the controller idea my good man :D so we can have some sort of total control over our players feet idea?

id like to see a proper weather engine like players getting muddy, socks rolling down etc.

i do like the champions league mode too i hear the update will add more teams too it?? should be good

i truly hope the update sorts some of the defending bugs out online beacause i thought it was just me but everyone seems to be having the same trouble
hopefully its just a simple glitch in the code and can be sorted out

I think the controller idea is good but I think it would take the focus of the player off playing the game. I just think it's too much for the player to do. We only have so many fingers.

I couldn't give a flier about playings getting muddy - it'd be a nice touch, but I'd prefer to see it make a difference to a game. In ISS for the N64 especially, the weather made a HUGE difference. If it was rainy, you could pretty much forget about playing a ball in behind. If it was snowing, the ball would hold up. That was excellent. Also, low shots really took alot of skid off the turf. No idea why they abandoned this principal. There was also a high chance of player losing footing in the rain which was quite nice. Nobody has ever really incorporated the effects of wind. It would be annoying if you had to play against it, but it does happen at times. At the moment, they've abandoned this concept, which is a real pity.

I dont get how it would take the focus off playing the game...playing the game is second nature(try moving the finger that rests under the toggle while playing)i think it would become a natural motion(this is more for the 1 player mode)...remember the old Atari controls, i think fingers are yet to be maxed out...

I dont get how it would take the focus off playing the game...playing the game is second nature(try moving the finger that rests under the toggle while playing)...we have ten fingers/thumbs, and at the mo some are doing nothing....remember the old Atari controls, i think fingers still are yet to be maxed out...

I do remember the Atari controls... I'm just thinking that say you wanted a chipped long through pass with an unpreffered foot... that would be a fair few fingers involved. I can only think PS3 here, but your fingers are already pretty bound up and you're right, it would require a pretty severe controller change. Stick a pedal\slider underneath ur feet or something and we're talking mate.. as I say, yes, possibly on the PC at the moment. Not discrediting the idea at all, I like it. I just think there's things that need to be changed first, that don't require such a drastic change to any platform

Want total control?

Grab a few mates and a football and go play an actual match... that's total control!

.. you haven't seen my Sunday League team play. Control is the last word that could be used to describe what happens on the pitch. I use PES as an aversion therapy to my normal Sunday routine.

Ive been trying so hard since its release to see the good things in this game but its few and far between. I sat an played offline an online last night an just turned it off as i was so annoyed at what a poor effort it is. Licenses doesn't bother me what so ever, ive got a patch and if youve followed pes from the start then your expected to not have them. Loved the idea of slowing the game down but...........players stop in the middle of runs for no reason? apart from the "starts" all players are basically crap and what ever happened to the "improved AI"?!?!?!? keepers are still god awful and so if the refs, shootings worse, and your own players get in the road of long passes and can lead to conceding. I hate fifa with how its always so mechanical and easy but after playing it last nite, its almost like some1 had merely changed the name on each title cos fifa is smooth and much better to play, i wont be buying it but i dont know how much longer i can put up with pes 09.

I agree, its just a concept and a few years away yet..!!

Including the bit where he says there's a good game at the core of it, then doesn't elaborate... I've also watched his FIFA review, in which he totally glosses over the bad points and dismisses them.

yep it does seem as if he prefers fifa...but that dosnt hide the points he makes...

i like the game anyway but try playing only using manual passing, i have banned myself from using the normal pass button. Manual passing gives the game a new dimension, i dont like the way if you use the x button the pass just flies towards any player and it makes the game less of a challenge. It really is satisfying knowing that you have controlled any of the moves you have created

I like the game is nearly every respect except the fact they've made it ridiculously and unrealistically fast - it's as though the players are on something.

PES used to be about building up play and constructing moves and creating chances - now it's like 20 headless chickens running around like nutters...they could at least include a speed option.

I guess I could edit everyone's speed and short pass speed but that would take says and days.

Why do I get the impression they think excitement is more important than realism. It's not!
