Been playing tonight, I have a few more frustrations

1) Autoclear - sometimes when in your own the box the comp will make you player automatically clear the ball, when id prefer to pass it out

2) Dreadfull offside decisions, and what's funny is it shows the replay confirming to you that the decision is bad lol. If they going to screw you with an offside decision then don't show a replay lol

3) Terrible decisions on some tackles, my player getting booked for a good tackle. Then they show you a replay of your good tackle getting the ball and no contact with the player.

The game stresses me out, playing a master league on top player. I still love it though

I've been playing this series since ISS on the SNES and Winning Eleven/Goalstorm on the PS1 and it's very disappointing to see how far the series has fallen this gen. It's another year and another flawed PES game.

1) How many fucking years does Konami need to fix the goddamn commentary? This is easily one of the most annoying thing about the PES series but it's just not fixed year after year after year.

2) The foul system is also completely screwed up. Off-the-ball incidents (where you tackle a player who has just released the ball) are completely disregarded by the game. Obstruction is also not implemented at all. Worst of all, the ref calls a foul on plenty of legitimate tackles. I'm not even talking about the ref blowing against me but I've seen plenty of situations where the ref calls a foul when the AI just made a perfectly legitimate tackle.

3) AI teammates' reaction and off-the-ball running is horrendous. When I successfully grab the ball off a defender at the edge of a penalty and only have one more defender to beat, why is it that my nearest teammate starts running back instead of forward to receive my through-pass?

And how about penalties and corner kicks? I've had situations where the keeper saved my penalty kick and the ball rebounds forward. Another striker (controlled by the AI) rushes up and just before he reaches the ball (and an open goal), he pauses. I quickly hit L1 to gain control of him but it's too late as a defender has already caught up and cleared the ball.

As for corner kicks, I'm sure most of you have noticed this but after you've made the corner kick, the player who took the corner kick will literally freeze and not move at the corner flag until you take control of him.

4) The game is still heavily scripted especially after you've scored a goal. This has been an issue for PES all along and it's still around. The AI will completely dominate you and all your passes and runs will go awry at specific times during the match. Very frustrating when defending a lead.

5) Master League negotiation difficulty is messed up.

6) The running animations are terrible.

Alot of points people are making are just silly, a lot of the the "bad things" people are highlighting are in fact the high points of the game, i dotn know what the hell you want maybe you will only be happy when controlling the actual players on a saturday afternoon and even then im sure you will all cry that the running animation is poor!

What you need to do is spend less time lookingf or these bad points and actually play the game, its only then that you will see the vast amount of good things that the game has to offer and the reason why it is the best game, no football simulation on the market.

I have not tried fifa but i hear what your saying m8.To may people round here a biggin up 09 as a great game.

I would put that down to the fact that you are currently on a Pro Evolution Soccer Website.....

I have no idea what you are talking about ( i respect your opinion) but i think you are so far from right it is untrue, as if that rule applied i would be wanting fifa right now and i definatley do not!

Fifa is like that cheap tacky girl who you are guaranteed quick sexual pleasure from behind a tree or in a deserted car park.

Pro is the lady that you have to wine dine and take your full time and effort on then when you finally do get her to the candle lit bedroom, the fire works will flyyyy!

Playing Pro Evo is very much like making love to a beautiful lady Paul...

Yes sir mr shaun, perfection is apparently what these constantly complaining people are looking for.

No one has claimed pro evolution 09 to be perfect, im sure we all have parts that we dont like about it, but i have a hell of a lot more things that i love about the game than that of which i dislike. i am hard to please but pes impresses me i think it is a brilliant game so god knows what some of you people are looking for.

i also dont think some of you take in to account how games are made, im sure if you were some kind of games programmer you would realise that some things you are looking for just simply are not that easy to achive and that you would have to jepordise certian aspects to add to others its all a bit complicated.

i think your spot on with this comment. we love pes, but i dont believe they have put in the enhancements they should have. all games are going to the next level, but pro evo just havnt done that this year. not sure why, but for them to accept having a meeting with a member from this site regarding pes2010 tells you something. they are simply un-aware of what we wish for, and realize the game they put out is just not it.

PES09 is missing a lot, but not because Konami didn't care, they are just un-aware of what game should have been out there. i believe that if they want to really reap rewards from PES2010, they will need to listen to the people. its not about giving us a surprise, or letting us find out about something when we buy the game, you need to bring other people into your offices, not a thierry henry or a messi to give the game an edge, (if that's what you think) you need to bring in the best pro evo players of 06 and 08 or the administrators from these forums. these kind of guys will tell you what the public have been talking about, the important stuff to us like
1. Game play
2. Graphics
3. Licenses
4. Game depth
.....then comes all the extras like different grass, stadium details, crowd animations and chants (so much u can do with crowd) then leagues - don't give people an option to play league, cup or tournament, just have it all part of one season, arsenal masterleague should involve, normal league, champions, league, cup games, and then you pick which pro player you control in the world cup every 4 yrs, it must all sync with each other, the transfers, and managing mode, buying and selling players (proper currency) the ability to stick with one player or change mid season. a training mode that is life like. ideas are endless, but they just have to listen. give us a game to play for 12 months, not this crap you have out out.

My bottom line is, we should have gotten a next gen game with our next gen consoles. If i could have it my way, i would create a GTA4 like Pes game, where you would drive the city's of England, Spain, Italy etc... and have to drive to training, and games, press release, catch a plane to the new club/city you sign with, Nike Adidas meetings, as well as the actual on the pitch game engine also. the world is so big, and with a Pro evolution game out like that. Start competing with the top names, hang you balls out there, that's how you make it Konami, not about money, passion.

If i only had a chance to do it myself....

^Well you're right on some points. Pes really neeeds to take advantage of next gen consoles. But that doesn't make it a bad game. It's still a great football game.

i do believe that in some cases PES does need to take advantage of the next gen consoles, but still is a brilliant game...i don't think licenses should be taken up as an argument against the game...yeah the kits might not be (fifa) perfect...but aren't we playing football games for the reason of the way the gameplays???...aren't we all forgetting a valuable reason here...PES gameplay has improved ALOT since pes 2008 and it makes for a greater game experience...

btw as for tk23...(this is an opinion) a GTA 4 style PES??? wtf mate...
drive cars, planes wtf are you going on about...its a football game not a bloody "tomb raider" adventure....:erm: loool!...

i really tried with PES 09 as i have played every one since the SNES. it really can't be stressed enough that fifa is in another league to pro now. all of these comparisons to fine wines and fancy nights out with women is ridiculous. fifa 09 allows u to play the beautiful game like no other game has done before. pes 2009 allows u to play pes 2008 with new menus. pes 2008 was notoriously under par. how can this game possibly be par or above a year later?

if you're gonna play a football game all the time then don't waste a year with pes 2009 it is quite hideous. as some people have said it is the arcade game now nothing is realistic about it. these guys talk some sense:
